Black Basketball Jerseys
I was reading the post about DGib and Kahuna said to Cleveland fans look up images of the black jerseys vs. Duke and the blowout.
It got me thinking why don't we have them anymore? I know it wasn't a classic look but they looked tight and sleek. Was it because we got blown out that Rick didn't choose to wear them again?
I don't know but we should bring them back for a couple of games a season.
It also got me thinking, when i read an article two years ago on SI.com and it was about VY and them preparing for the 2005 season. He was talking about how he wanted to keep the old school look we had in the first game vs. the Cajuns for the rest of the season. He also talked about persauding Mack to let them wear the black jerseys that the qbs wear in practice. You know the ones that they have at Oshmans oops "Sports Authority".
How tight would that look if we had a "black out" game like FSU? Except that we wouldn't lose. Mack is way to loyal to Darrell Royal so he won't do it but still i would like that. All he does is suck his dick. "Darrell Royal this, oh he is so great" shut up i don't care about that old goober.
We need to become a little edgier in our unis. I'm not saying go be Oregon but maybe have black alternates or something not to different from the originals.
Your thoughts
Thank God Barbaro is Dead
I was so starting to get sick of that genitically engineered and altered horse. He or she, what ever it is more like a heshe, has more steriods and chemicals than does Barry Bonds or Shawn "Lights Out" Merriman. It was ridiculous they should have put it down earlier and ease its suffering.
It is ridiculous how greedy we are. There has been more money spent saving that horse's life than to save people lives in Darfur or any other African country.
More people have probably donated and sent get well cards to that horse than the soliders in Iraq. Its a joke and how that horse became a circus after it got hurt.
They should have put it out of its missery a long time ago.
But since we are "humane" and "caring" we won't let it die. The real reason is because of the breeding purposes. If that happens to any old farm horse its put down right on the spot.
The irony in this is we are trying to be humane while at the same time people race and make millions of these horses.
Kind of just like college football players.
Has UT Passed A&M in basketball too?
Calm down, i'm just qouting Houston Chronicle columist Richard Justice. Thats what he is saying on his blog. Here is the site http://blogs.chron.com/sportsjustice/. Notice the sarcaism. Its not really serious he just likes to poke fun at how we think that we are "superior" to every school in this state and conference.
It is true, we are superior to every school in this conference. What can i say? RJ also brings up a good point how the dynamics will change if they win. If we win its big brother doing what they always do. If we lose on the otherhand "we are losing our grip on big time athletics in this state". I am really looking forward to that game. We don't have dumbass PJ anymore to lose track of the shotclock and we are going to have a shotclock in this game hopefully unlike last game.
He does bring up a really good point. That game following the super bowl is going to be a must win. We have to win that game. I can't stand the trash talking that Aggies will do if we win it.
I am also sick of how people think that A&M is good. They are overrated by a mile and we are so underrated. Were not in the top 25? What the fuck is up with that?
I think KD will probably put up 35 plus on them and get 15 boards in leading us to a close victory.
Richard Justice you are a fucking idiot. It is really sarcastic though if you don't see it.
Sick of SEC football hype
First of, everybody read 54b's diary on what kind of BONER you are. That shit is fucking funny. Yeah, he did diss me and i'm not going to deny it is true.
I write what i think and thats the way i am. I don't say the first thing that comes out of my mind just to let you know. Blogs are my way to vent my frustration at the world and how we are declining as a society.
Go read that diary, instant BON Classic.
Anyways, one guy replied to one of my comments about USC and how i liked them. He said "that he hates USC because they are arrogant and don't play "smashmouth football". That got me thinking about smashmouth football and particulary "smashmouth" country the SEC.
I really am so sick of this SEC crap. "We are the best conference in the country, we should automatically get a birth in the NC game". Shut the fuck up. Every year they complain about how they got shafted and Auburn was the only one that had a legit beef a couple of years ago. Florida wined its way in the game even though, in my opinion, they weren't as impresseive as Michigan. Thats another time. Now it looks like they made the right choice but still they were bitching before the season was over. At least Mack had the class to do it after the season.
They don't relize how offensively the league is inept. Besides LSU every team is offensively challenged. Florida, don't get me wrong, is a good team but, in my opinion, tOSU would win 8 out of 10 times. tOSU just paniced and their only TD came when they pounded the rock. Lets face it, that offense sucked it was bad, they had trouble against South Carolina, FSU, Alabama, Kentucky and Vanderbilt, not exactly murders row.
In general their league is overhyped and their "speed" factor so overrated. All month long i heard about how Florida was 1000 times faster than tOSU. Its not like tOSU was Notre Dame (by the way i run a faster 40 than half that team). It was just that Ohio State got outcoached and couldn't make many adjustments. I'm betting if USC played Florida they would win and we would beat 10 of those teams every time with the exception of LSU and Florida.
Besides LSU none of them can throw downfield. Did you see Brandon Cox he was a qb!!! Imagine how good the pigges would have been with a decent qb.One of the worst victories of the year was Auburn's vs. Bama i think they won 22-15 and 14 of them came of Bama fumbles deep in their own territory and the other a fluke pass. My point is everybodies game plan is not to lose with the exception of the "Ole Ball Coach". They also beat Nebraska the same way. They can all ball at "D" but if you can't score enough you are not always title worthy. Florida's coaches told Chris Leak to not turn the ball over so he didn't throw it more than 10 yards down the field and didn't throw unless someone was open 10 yards down the field.
My point is they play, sissy, conservative, ugly football. Their running backs are not good but i will give them credit they can play good "D". Their is only one qb i would take in the SEC and that is JRussell, wow he is fucking good. What a gun he has.
Next year again some one loss team is going to be bitching about the SEC. Get over it, if you knew how to move the ball that wouldn't be a problem.
Thats my rant.
Bad Win
Wow that was a horrible win. It seems like every year we struggle against Iowa St. and Nebraska at their respective arenas. Two scrub schools at basketball that shouldn't be within 30 of us.
How can playing at home make that big of a difference. I don't see it . Rick just give KD the fucking ball. Your offense is simple and yet you try to get scrubs like Atchley, Lewis, and Hill involved.
As much as i love these three white guys they suck, simple as that. Hill is just an oversized, unathletic, skeletor. If any of you follow soccer than Matt Hill is just like Peter Crouch. DJ had a bad game but that was like his second bad game of the season. We shouldn't get too upset. Remember how we said they are going to have bad stretches of basketball. He will rebound against Baylor.
Afterall he is a freshman and we can't expect him to play as an All-American every night. AJ rarely puts two halfs together. He either comes out firing or waits until ten minutes left to get hot like against Villonava. Justin Mason is turning to be the rock of this team. He is going to be the glue that holds this squad together for the next couple of years. He is an extremely solid and good player. Justin almost never takes bad shots al la AJ and plays good "d" as well. Now he is the guy that Rick needs to get involved in the offense.
Even though it is a bad win i'll take and we finally get a breather vs. Baylor. About time we play some scrubs.
I love that scrub African guy though. What is his name. I just like him because he is really uncordinated but can play a little bit.
Next Years Schedule
Its pretty early and i'm already looking into our schedule next year. I'm thinking that it is going to be a two to three game season for us.
The only games that we can lose if Colt doesn't get hurt are OU, Nebraska, and A&M. It looks like OU will be bad next year and bringing in a scrub qb but still they will have a good "D" and it is a rivalry game. But stll with our O there is no way OU scores enough points to beat us.
I don't know about Nebraska but they will certainly be alot better next year and they will have a veteran qb in the Arizona St. guy. Their D is going to better and it's going to be tough but i see us winning that game to. I see us winning this game but i will take it of the list of maybe games depending on how Nebraska plays at the beginning of the year. The only reason this is on here is because they have a close talent edge with us and thats it. If we tackle we win the game.
The final game is the A&M game and this would be an automatic win if it was in Austin but since it is at Kyle Field it will be tough. It depends on how our "D" has played during the course of the year. If we play lights out or above average we win the game easily. If we don't than it will put pressure on our offense and Colt. We have to force McGee to beat us. The guy can't complete a pass to save his life. Duffman put nine guys in the box and take your chances with their slow scrub white guys on the outside. If UT forces McGee to win the game its a blowout without a doubt.
There are other games as well like Tech which always gives us problems but it is at home. With their offense it doesn't matter if we play on the moon they could still pull it off. This is the game that i sweat the most every year. Sooner or later they are going to get one again and it makes me nervous. Remember what happened 4 years ago when Chance came to save the day. Again its the defense if they play well coming into the game then we win it but if not look out.
There is also and Okie State and that game will also come down to our "D".
Some people are talking about the "BCS slayer" TCU but no chance. They can't score enough to beat us especially at home as well.
Pretty much our whole season comes down to our defense we play above average defense we go undefeated and earn a trip to New Orleans. If not we can still win all of our games, but it will to much to ask. Somewhere we might bog down and we need the "D" to step up. We can't rely on our offense to bail us out every time to much to ask. We are not USC of two years ago.
I'm predicting 13-0 and regular season victory and a trip to New Orleans. Who ever comes out of the Big 12 North is going to get crushed simple as that.
Its kind of ironic because every year since 2001 i have thought we would go undefeated. I think i am like an Alabama fan because every year i expect us to go undefeated. Hopefully i am right this year.
Bad Super Bowl
This looks like a bad matchup. I would have loved to see Reggie vs. The Dynasty or Peyton "I invented the Choke" Manning. No one cares about Da Bears. I will still root for them because of Ced and Nathan and the fact that Peyton is a douche.
Its a bad Super Bowl. The Colts will probably blow them out if they don't turn the ball over like the Saints. I'm sorry but Rex Grossman sucks. All the Saints had to do was hang on to the football and give Reggie tbe ball and they would win.
Instead they shot themselves in the foot with killer penalties and fumbles. They gave Da Bears 13 points ridiculous.
The only interesting aspect of this game is two former stud Horns Ced and Nathan. Still Cedric Benson is really good and i don't understand why he doesn't get more carries.
We all love Nathan Vasher (including me) but he is kind of overrated. He is more a product of Da Bears scheme then anything else. Vasher is a solid player but not great. Reggie Bush is going to be the face of the NFL with VY in two years. Him and VY are going to be doing the commercials instead of Peyton Manning in a couple of years.
Some people will say he only had one good play but it was fucking amazing. Those are the kind of plays that people said he wouldn't be able to do in the NFL. As Chris Berman would say "Whoop!!" excellent player.
The Colts got so lucky on that offensive pass interference. Refs don't call that the game is over. What a ticky tacky call. You don't call that in a playoff game. Still the Pats choked and thats it.
Tom Brady is the best QB hands down. What a clutch player. Jabar Gaffney is his go to guy and thats all i have to say. It should have been Patriots and Saints or rematch of Super Bowl 20.
Prediction 28-10 for the Colts.
Another yawnfest like last year and Peyton (i hate that guy) gets the monkey of his chest.
Mack Playing Freshman
Since we are talking about who should be starting in the secondary next year many of you said it was going to melton and griffin because they were seniors.
You guys are probably right and Mack needs to get away from playing seniors and play the best players no matter what class. Over the past couple of seasons he has lost games because of him being afraid to put freshman on the field until it was to late. Granted their have been instances, Sloan, B.J., and Roy but rarely has he done it. Was one example.
If he said Chris Simms is my qb from day one we would not have had that controversy. Who remembers when he was scared to put Ced Benson in the game vs. OU and his reason was pass protection same thing Da Bears are saying (when we all know its that Lovie doesn't want to affend the veteran). Ced Could have won us the game that year. But mack was to scared and then after the game Mack realized it.
Remember in 2003 by Mack not starting VY from day one. He had to put in Chance because he was more "experienced" what a joke. That cost us the Arkansas game and then he put in VY to save his job vs. K-State. That was the beginning of the VY legend.
Then Mack didn't reward Vince with start instead he put in Chance on the first series and he throws a pick on the second pass of the game (Game Over and the rout is on). Why Mack? He always does this after he needs the guy. Following my trend here. How about in 2004 when he didn't put in RT vs. OU when we desperatly needed a spark in a game that was really winnable and that we could have won and(in my opinion should have won) if Mack wasn't scared. After the OU game in 2004 he decides to put him in.
I know that there have been instances where he has played freshman but don't go JoePa on us Mack.
Play the best players. We have a chance to run the table next year with our schedule. Its probably a two game season. OU and A&M and thats it.
So don't repeat the same mistake over again. If a freshman or underclassmen are better than a senior or junior start him. Please because Marcus Griffin needs to get out of the secondary put him on special teams.
For once do something that Bob Stoops and Pete Carrol do.
When Did You Guys Become Serious Fans
I've been a college basketball fan all my life and a Longhorn football fan all my life. Lets be honest there are barely any of us who live and die every UT sport. Baseball is only popular once they get to Omaha and other sports no one cares about. I used to not really care about UT hoops. Now i kept upset after a loss as much as i get upset when the football team loses.
There are some of you who only follow them during the tourney.
I started becoming a pasionatte UT hoops fan once TJ led them to the Sweet Sixteen his freshman year. After that i have followed every game and watched every game that i can.
I am asking you guys when did you start following UT b-ball passionatly. I betting most of you guys became fans after the Final Four not all but most.
This is an interesting topic because it seems like hoops craze is at an all time high for UT. UT ball is on the map finally.
Your thoughts guys:
Instant Classic
Where does this game rank in terms of how great it was? This would obviously be one of if not the greatest game ever if it was in the tournament. But its not. It will be remembered for a while.
Highlights will be played when ever we play OSU. Announcer will also discuss "how does Texas respond to this "adversity?"" When we play Nova.
It will be remembered for a long time because of KD. This is his coming out party and 10 15 years from now when people look back on his one college season this will be one of the main highlights.
When KD becomes the next great legend people will actually have footage of him in college. The only footage of Jordan is the jumper vs. Gtown and no Bird or Johnson footage. Some AI but he wasn't that great. No Kobe, KG, T-Mac and other highschool guys. There is but its baiscally a slam dunk contest for them. I know there is but its small and minute and grainy.
This game will be immortalized because people will know where were you when KD took the country by storm in classic. Would have been better if he did it at the buzzer. Just a classic.
We Were the Better Team
To qoute Matt Leinart "We Were the Better Team". I may sound like a sore loser and maybe so because i'm pissed as shit.
That was an amazing game one of the better college games in a long time. Kevin Durant is a man amongst boys. Just a hell of a player. Augustine is really good to. Probably would be talked about more if KD wasn't here. Abrahams way to choke bro. But it happens. Still a good player.
We were the better team because we didn't need miracle threes. How ridiculous was that by Eaton? What the fuck. It seems like Ok. State always gets the breaks at Gallager Iba Arena at Eddie Sutton court in Stillwater sponsored by Nike. Bogan what the fuck was that? Thats one of the luckiest shots ever. He knew it was lucky thats why he was smiling. Bullshit, bullshit, bullshit. Sean Sutton is getting on my list of coaches that i hate. Its a short list. How many breaks did they get? I really haven't been this upset by a UT loss since we lost to LSU in the Elite Eight.
We could have done more but KD is a monster. Just to good for college. It really woudln't be fair for us to ask him to stay one more year. He needs a challenge and everybody is happless to stop him. KD literally pulled a VY and refused to lose. He almost willed us to victory.
Okie fans how classeless. What a joke. Can you do the horns down anymore? Come on a couple of more times.
Why do we always fall short at Okie St. Please someone explain to me. Please.
We should have and deserved to win this game. Thats that and i will leave it at that. I maybe a sore loser but i know many of you feel my pain. Just a heartbreaking loss.
Enemy of the Nation
My enemy of the nation is Vince Young. Calm down i'm just messing around actually its ESPN in general.
"The world wide leader in sports" has been anti-longhorn for a longtime. They have spawned Merril Hoge and Trev Alberts two guy that hate Texas.
There is no need for a Hoge explination. But with Alberts it seems like he would always say this is a trap game for Texas. When we play Baylor or some scrub school he would say Texas should be on the lookout for an upset. I know he is gone but still every time i watched "Gameday" he would have something negative to say about us.
He is the one that actually started the whole "Texas is soft" mantra. He kept repeatedly pick on us and some of it was desrving but when ever we one a big game or lucked out it was we were lucky. When OU or Ohio State won a game it shouldn't have its because of "Big Game Bob" and "Tressel ball".
Who rememebers the run up to the Rose Bowl and comparing USC to the greatest teams of all time.? What a joke. They didn't even wait until after the game. Then they tried to cover it up by making the "Texas second to none" piece my fucking ass.
I am really starting to get sick of ESPN. I hate Lou Holtz and his bullshit, i think he is insane. He is so old and doesn't make anysense whats so ever.He contradicts himself a million times Everybody in the country knw LSU was going to beat the crap out of LSU and Holtz said Notre Dame is going to come to play. He always picks Notre Dame and South Carolina what a homer. Lee Corso's act is getting really old and he needs to shut the fuck up. His little punchlines are pissing me off. "Yo"
There are countless other idiots on ESPN but those are the only ones that pertain to college football.
There are some good guys on ESPN like Mark May i really like him and he called Cincinatti beating Rutgers and he actually gives Texas some respect and Kirk Herbstreit is really good to. Those two guys know what they are talking about and make sense. Hoge needs to be checked for something he is becoming the laughingstock of the country
Texsa football highlights
Who knows what games highlights does rpongett have and can you please send me the links to the ones. Because when i type just www.rpongett.phpwhebhosting.com i get a website with TV shit on it.
So can you guys send me the links to his sites.
JCDenton.com
What happened to JCDenton.com? He doesn't post highlights of the games anymore.
Did somebody shut him down because its a great sight and with a lot of nostalgia and the great Chris Simms years. Notice the sarcasim about Chris.
He stopped putting highlights of games after OU.
Anybody know why because i missed the Baylor game and the A&M game (i'm glad i did because i would have broken the tv if i watched that debacle horrible).
Also anybody know about mean horn website? Do they not post highlights of losses or is they didn't want to put up those last to debacles. I'm kind of clad i don't have to hear Andre Ware sucking Josh Freemans dick on air.
Can someone please tell me whats up with those sights and if there are any new ones. Youtube doesn't post any college football highlights that much. Maybe its the copyright thing with ABC.
Texas Basketball
I am looking at our schedule and there really is only four or five games that might be losses. Sadly to say but the Big 12 is a bad b-ball conference. The only good teams are OSU, KU, Texas and maybe the farmers but thats it.
The potentiall loses in our conf. play are the OSU game, KU and at Aggieland. No way they are beating us at home. Even OSU doesn't scare me anymore after they got blown out by KU. They only have one legitimate threat Bogans and thats it. We need to beat them up in Stillwater because its just a place we never win. I hate their fans and how gay they are. Just looking at that grumpy old drunk, Eddie Sutton, irrates me.
KU on the other hand is scary and we need to bring our A plus game. They are good and this program also needs a win up in Kansas as well. We have come so close over the years to win up there but fall just short. I think we can beat them the way that KD is playing he is right now unguardable. But we could always lay an egg and get pounded.
Since this is such a young team they probably might slip to a bad team like Iowa State. Is Curtis Stinson still there? That guy has been in college for like six years. We could maybe lose to Tech, they always battle us well or OU but the way they have been playing it seems really unlikely. The only way is if KD doesn't show up simply as that. Rick Barnes teams always lose one or two games during conf. play that they shouldn't like last year vs. A&M or vs. OSU and even OU just bad.
LSU football
I can't help but think of how LSU really was the most talented and best team in the country. It makes me wonder how this team lost to two really good schools but schools that really couldn't move the ball on offense. If Georgia can put 35 on Auburn and Vanderbilt can put up 20 plus how did LSU not put up more. I watched that game yesterday for the first time on www.planetgator.com and LSU gave the game away. They missed a field goal, fumbled on the one yard line, and turned it over twice in the endzone. They also had a saftey on a kickoff and had a punt muffed and blocked. That to team is poor coaching and that is why LSU is not undefeated. I'm sorry but how is Les a coach, the guy has no clue what he is doing. Anybody remember when he called a timeout after a pick by LaRon Landry? Or does anybody remember when his teams had collapses against us and also against Tennessee just pathetic. If LSU had a halfway competent coach they would be undefeated because they were so loaded i mean come on Les. If i was an LSU fan i would be saying fire Les because there is no excuse to losing to an Auburn team that can't score and to a Florida that waits for you to make a mistake and capitilize on it.
Ramonce Taylor
Looking back on the year and how our offense did its probably save to say that Ramonce Taylor was not missed but i believe he would have helped this team especially in the big play running back department. Remember our kickoffs this year they were just awful and i mean awful what was our longest return 10 yards. RT definetly would have helped out UT in that department. One thing that Texas lacked this year was a spark and a guy that just scares the crap out of you if he gets the ball. We didn't have that this year, our recievers were good and that stuff but know one was dangerous after the catch like Roy and we have done enough explaining about the running game. Also RT in our biggest games last year came up with a moment shift. Who remembers his kick return against the Buckeyes? One minute i was cursing and screaming and the other i was filled with jubiliation. It was just boneheaded, stupid and at the same time sick play. Thats what Ramonce brought to the table. Also against OU when he set the tone with a big catch and run and then the touchdown to set off the rout. Against Oklahoma State and A&M he saved our season with big performances after our defense struggled a little bit. Then in the Rose Bowl he sparked the team with his TD and gave UT a lot of momentum. Thats what we didn't have against the Buckeyes, K-State and A&M a big play out of nowwhere just something to spark the team. It was the right to decision to cut his ass.
I'm not saying he was the reason we lost three games but people are overlooking the fact that he was an important player and he could have made plays for this team. He was also Texas' "blackest or thugest player to. Anybody remember him at the championship ceremony in Austin when he wore big dark shades and wore this big ass grill i thought wow how did this guy into Texas?
Yawn fest
That was such a shity ass game just boring. Besides the Teddy Ginn kickoff the longest play of the game was 20 yards. No one through down field and Florida told Chris Leak to not blow the game. He would only throw it if some body was open by 10 yards. Just a snoozefest wow i was stunned how inept OSU was at offense Troy Smith won the Heisman are you serious. That was horrible. It makes me now wonder how UT didn't stop this guy. I mean come on. People are going to talk about OSU's defense but they didn't play that bad every Florida score came with a short field but after the first two series the OSU coaches should have made an adjustment and forced Chris Leak to throw down field by playing pure man to man and blitz everybody and see if Leak can do something.
Why didn't they keep running the ball with Pittman he had some success and that was a really nice run but the blame goes to the O-line for the buckeyes the only time Troy Smith had to throw down field was on that Hail Mary and he threw it out of bounds pathethic. We were able to the same thing against him except for the two minute drive this year but still a horrible game at least the USC OU blowout was entertaining because USC produced some amazing plays. This Florida team will be forgetten very fast along the likes of the Tennessee team in 98, LSU team in 03 and other crappy teams. USC has got to be killing themselves for not focusing on UCLA because they would have routed both of these teams with that Defense ridicilous. People talk about UF's defense being good SC's is way better. Horrible game why didn't they just show the Boise game again after halftime.
Who to Root For?
I don't know who to root for in Monday's MNC game Florida or Ohio St. I want to root for Ohio State but i can't stand Jim Tressell and his bland bullshit and it also pissed me off how he screwed Mo Clarret. Tressell and his voting crap to irrates me. How he said he voted us numero uno but really didn't vote for us and then when he didn't vote at the end of the year. It also pissed me of how Ohio State stole a national championship in 2002 with one of the worst calls ever. That was hands down the luckiest team ever ever. Also Ohio St. beat Michigan which is my second favorite team and i felt Michigan should have one plus they also beat us on a fluke fumble. Billy Pittman doesn't fumble we win that game hands down.
Now about Florida the only reason that i won't root for them is they are a team that just gets lucky i hate teams that "find ways how to win". They should have lost to the "Ol' Ball Coach" God i love that guy and to Georgia as well. Then LSU gave the game away with a million turnovers. How that team not go undefeated i mean come on the talent they have. Is Les Miles that bad of a coach i really think he is one of the worst big game coaches out there. His team is due for a collapse every once in a while. Also i hate how SEC schools brag about how great their conference is. Urban Meyer what a loser he started complaining and lobbying before the season was over at least Mack had some class and waited until the season was over. Plus i don't like the guy and i hate his offense it is such a pussy offense. Florida they just luck and they beat my third favorite team FSU and then Urban Meyer's speech about style points which he included Kentucky, Vanderbilt and a washed up FSU team in his speech about difficulty of schedule what a joke. So who should i root for or should i root for a 3-0 game with a million turnovers and a million three and outs.
Game of the Century
That was the most fucking unbelievable greatest game happiest moment in my life. I don't care last years Rose Bowl game was amazing but tell who didn't think that Vince was going to score he was not going to be denied. Anyways the Fiesta Bowl Boise State is fucking amazing i don't think that would have happened to us but they might have been able to beat us though. What a game what an ending what a collapse. If Boise St. lost that would have been one of the greatest collapses ever. I was so sick of see those Sooner fans cry their team sucks and thats that we gave them a Big 12 title. Boise should have blown them out by they panicked and got conservative that pick six by Jay-Z was one of the worst throws ever ever Chris Simms like vs. CU or any Reggie Ball or Chris Rix game. I thought they gave the game to OU. Then the play of the year what a call amazing hook and ladder and that would never happen to Texas and if it did Mack's ass would be run out of town i almost cried when i saw that and then i knew they weren't going to be denied amazing simple as that. Greatest game ever and one of the happiest football moments in my life and if anybody recorded on a DVR please email it to me my email address is dvehabovic@sbcglobal.net please amazing. Someone hire their OC or the head coach to replace Greg Davis becaus that was some of the most balliest and greatest playcalling ever ever. Where was that or something similar Greg vs. OU a the 5 times we lost or versus A&M this or in any of the losses where we can't score points. Once they got that TD in OT i knew they were going to go for it and win. It was destiny amazing what balls they pulled a Baylor vs. A&M. You can tell they were exhausted and that was their best chance because if they kicked they weren't geting in to the endzone and OU was getting in another gear. Game of the century amazing one of the best games ever and the look on "Big game Bob" wss priceless and seeing the sooners shock priceless and everybody go to every sooner site and talk shit mad shit and post highlights on youtube amazing amazing no words to describe it wow i wish we could have pulled something like that amazing what a game Boise St. deserves a shot at the Bucks i don't care they probably get blown because Tressel's teams come to play but still amazing.
Top 10 Losses in Mack Brown Era
- 2003 Oklahoma: You would think that this would be higher but Texas was pretty bad that year on defense on our offense was in transition so I kind of expected this. We might have won the game if Vince didn't fumble at the one but it was an expected loss. The season was already bad since we lost to the pigs.
- 2000 Oklahoma: I don't really remember this game but it sucked we got killed and it set of the OU national championship run. It wasn't that big but the score made it hurt even more. Texas was a young team and most of us were looking towards next year.
- 2006 K-State: This one sucks because we lost to such a bad team and it was a perfect storm for them and Doug Flutie was working his magic. Scrubs were playing the game of their lives for K-State and it cost us a big time bowl game a Big 12 Championship. I was pretty sick after watching this game when our secondary looked it never played football before. Devastating loss.
- 20003 versus the pigs: This loss would not be remembered if lost to say Alabama or some average team on the road. It stinged because we lost to Arkansas who couldn't complete a pass and the white Vince Young was having the game of his life and some scrub had his best game again against us. It also hurt because the pigs were talking shit after it and thats what sucked and people called UT soft and stuff like that.
- 2002 versus Tech: Don't you see a trend here how our defenses almost always fucks when we lose. Why is that when we play mediocre teams that are one dimensional we always lose. For instance Arkansas, K-State, and Tech we have trouble. This game summed Chris Simms career he played awesome but had one bad throw that i still remember. The pick that seeled the game got that was a horrible throw. What makes me mad more is when we lose to these lesser schools you see the horns down and all that crap and fans rushing the field and the players with the horns down makes you. Kliff Kingsbury enemy of the nation number 1 i hate that guy he thinks hes the shit but now he is playing Arena ball. I forget cost us a chance at a big 12 title.
- 2004 versus OU: There are alot of OU losses hoped there aren't to many in the future. I expected Texas to lose because we were one dimensional and when you face teams with even talent its hard to move the ball. But what was so frustrating about the loss was how sloppy we were even though OU knew what we were doing they couldn't stop us but we were fumbling the ball slipping all over the place and we were actually getting breaks that almost always got to OU. This game was ours even though OU was a little bit better. The defense that is the last great defensive performance this program has had. Derrick Johnson was a man possesed that strip against White who must have been in his 10th at OU was amazing. It was such a moment swing but Vince fumbles the ball away. We get a TD i think we win the game in though Peterson was running all over us they couldn't score in the redzone. There was a positive to that loss we didn't get a chance to get blown by USC though so it was more of a somber loss.
Review of Season
Looking back on the 2006 season it was a pretty dissapointing season in my opionion. This is probably Mack's most dissapointing year since 2003 debacle when we lost to the pigs at home and got blown out by "Big game Bob" and had a "we are sick of the Holiday Bowl so if we lose maybe they won't invite us again" loss. Granted we did have a freshman qb but after the fifth or six game it doesn't really matter. I am asking myself how did we lose to that bad K-State team. I remember Andre Ware (God i hate that guy) sucking Josh Freeman's dick all night) and also calling some scrub reciver because he happened to where the same facemask the next "playmaker" (Michael Irvin). I don't care what people say Doug Flutie cost us the chance at a national title (maybe i don't know but Urban Myer probably would bitched like a little the SEC is the greatest i don't know if you can see the sarcaism in the SEC quote) but it certainly cost us a shot at whooping Boise St. ass in the Fiesta Bowl. The only reason the Tamale Bowl was close was the players didn't care come on would you be excited in playing in the Alamo Bowl I didn't think so.
Play of the Year
On this dissapointing season I want to know what the Longhorn play of the year was. In my opinion it was Aaron Ross's forced fumble against the Huskers. We lose that game and in my opionion the season goes into the tank. Looking back in hindsight that play turned the season from a "fire Mack and clean house chant" to dissapointing "what if" season because obviously Colt got hurt and we probably run the table. Lime time's TD vs. OU was pretty big because once we went ahead everybody knew "Big game Bob" was dead and the game was over. It was also a very pretty play. Cosby's TD totally was big because once Texas got that lead the whole momentum shifted and the game was pretty much over. Aaron Ross makes the list again and this play didn't have the much importance but it was still a pretty sick play.
Most Important play of the year
I was reading different blogs and Stewart Mandel about the most important play of the year and they said Florida's blocked kick, Louisville's offsides on the field goal. Also there was the roughing the passer penalty on Michigan. My question is why does no one seem to thing that Colt McCoy's injury on the qb sneak is not the most important play of the season. If he doesn't get hurt we blow out K-State 49-14 definetly beat A&M and beat a really bad Nebraska team 35-14 and probably play for the national title.
The best playoff
This is the best playoff system and easiest. The first round takes place in the four BCS games (Rose, Orange, Fiesta and Sugar). There seeds 1-8 and decided by poll or BCS. The 1 team plays the 8th and 2 plays 7 and so on. There are 6 automatic bids and the winner of each of the 6 major conferences gets an automatic bid and 2 at large births. This is so simple why don't they do this there would be only three extra games played and you could start 1st round on January 1st and second (2 games on the 1st and 2 on the second) and then play the next week the 2 semifinals and the following week in a predetermined bowl.
