I don't know how to spell Gus' last name, nor do I have the desire to look it up, so I will just call him Gus Asshat.

Gus Asshat's signing with the Vikings eliminates one of our dance partners for the the offseason/draft. The Vikings will not be offering multiples or a 2nd rounder now that they have effectively brought in a poor mans Sage. I don't know who, if anyone, else has expressed intrest in him besides them. So it's not exactly a Bull market. Pun intended.

The chronic believes that Sandy's grasp of the Texans off. will benefit the Panthers in some way on Sunday. I disagree, and here's why.
I think his report of how the Texanns off. throws to the hot reciever, the outlet back or the sideline judge 90% of the time will not be particularly helpful to Mr. Peppers et al. His GRASP was minimal last year when they were screaming instructions at him. I do not see how it would have improved miraculously with another off season of braiding his pubes with his boyfriend.

Were they that good? Or the Saints that bad.
They are both on the schedule this year and while the Colts look ridiculous (read Fast as Hell),
I think the Saints can be beaten.
It's an important point because that one win could be the diffrence between a Wild Card and missing the pants party, again.

In johns notes on espn.com, he has this blurb about the Hometowners...

10. The Texans are starting to show signs of life. New QB Matt Schaub, formerly the Falcons' backup, isn't getting sacked, and that's a big confidence boost for the offense. RB Ahman Green, the longtime fixture in Green Bay, is starting to get his explosive game back for his new team. WR Jacoby Jones has brought excitement to the passing game, and a second year in the blocking scheme seems to make the offensive line look better.

The only downside is the defensive line. Despite having drafted four linemen in the first round since 2004, the lack of pressure from the line so far could make former Texans QB David Carr (now with the Carolina Panthers) feel confident about not being sacked versus his old team.

Well I think that he has said the same things everyone else who has written about the Texanns this preseason.

I wasn't able to follow the game. Did JJ do anything? I was hoping he might run a punt back or something.

Seriously, Casserly's job wasn't as hard as he made it look. GM Ricky is so much better its painful to think about the years and picks wasted by that POS.

Kubes gave Mathis a ZJ in the paper this morning that said how he was actully in shape and contributing to the Texans as a WR option. Does anyone think this is pumping him up for other GM's? Or is it possibly legitimate.

I would love to believe he still has an outside chance of developing into a deep threat. Or even just regaining his Pro Bowl status as a returner would be better than I ever expected at any point last season.

I have been watching the news recently about Bonds being juiced and NBA referees betting on games and the only thing intresting I can think of is that there is a great (read: Not Real) story out there that no one really talks about.

If you mix the two antagonists in those stories you get NFL Referee Ed Hochuli. Referees on Deca/DBol is something I would listen to. Now if I could only prove he strangles pit bulls while doing coke with Lindsey Lohan...I wish I could photo shop. sigh.

I see that the other Texans Blog (Da Good, Da Bad, and DeMeco) has been looking in on us a little lately.
There are some good writers over there. Let's hope that a little competition will boost our involement and creativity here. The more people that are batshit crazy about the Texans, the better.

Can we find out what Kasey's doing during the off season? I want to know who he plans on bitch slapping first in mini camp. I think it'll be Travis Johnson. Maybe those two will bring out the beast in each other. I would bet it's like that scene in the Replacements where the swat cop linebacker and the ghetto linebacker are sitting across from each other at lunchtime staring each other down all badass like.
-Also, I haven't heard anything lately about Charles "Barbaro" Spencer.
-How about Jerome Mathis? Has he gone Evel Kineval lately?
-How about Sage's thumb? Lord know's if Schaub doesn't come out throwing rockets there will be clammoring for Sage again.
-Also, we start breaking down our opponents week by week for this season and trying to forecast the coming year. Just a couple of intresting topics. To me anyways.
