Makes sense. There is an empty hangar in Moscow to park it. The plane will likely underperform for ten years followed by one average year with Horizon, but eventually will be returned to service with its original owner, Big Sky Airlines.

Gobbler Country VT Fans = Top Shelf

Just wanted to say that you guys absolutely have the best fans I have ever seen at a Boise away game.  As we (some Bronco fans) wandered around the FedEx grounds, clad in blue, we were treated like kings.  We were invited into numerous VT tailgates and shared many a beer and story with VT students and alum.  You all do tailgating just right!

Your hospitality and class is what will stick out the most (well, maybe 2nd most) when I look back on this game.  With handshakes, congrats, and beers aplenty, you all deserve a kudos!  And your team isn't half bad, either.  Your team and fans deserve all accolades that will surely come your way.

Thanks for all the good memories, and best of luck until we meet again (hopefully sometime soon).

Thanks again to all the great VT fans!

Regards,

Current BSU fan and new Hokie admirer.

According to CFN, USU's Diondre Borel is 8th best WAC player: better than Avery, Young, Pettis, and JJ, among others. Hmmm...

One Bronco Nation Under God Where are OBNUG readers?

Where are all you OBNUG readers and posters coming from?  We all know OBNUG now spans the globe (and now apparently is popular in Tuscaloosa, Alabama).  It no longer amazes me that it is becoming more and more common to run in to BSU fans from all corners of the globe.  My go-to tech-support guy, Joe, in Bangladesh even is up on the Broncos.

I just wanted to get an idea of where readers are located.  Feel free to include your city and state.

One Bronco Nation Under God Jason Robinson suspended indefinitely

From the Statesman:

Boise State senior safety Jason Robinson has been suspended from the team indefinitely for an undisclosed violation of team rules, the school announced Monday.

The Broncos open spring practice Monday. Robinson will not be practicing.

Robinson has been a key special-teamer for the Broncos and a role player on defense. He made a big play on defense against San Jose State last year and helped coaches tweak the fake punt that worked against TCU in the Fiesta Bowl.

One Bronco Nation Under God Boise State schedules home and home with WSU in 2016/2017

Good move.

From the Statesman:

"Boise State and Washington State will play a home-and-home football series beginning in 2016.  The Cougars will visit Bronco Stadium in Boise on Sept. 10, 2016, with the Broncos heading to Pullman, Wash., on Sept. 9, 2017, to face the Cougars at Martin Stadium.  Boise State is 0-4 against Washington State with the Cougars winning games at Pullman in 1997 (58-0) and 2000 (41-23), and at Bronco Stadium in 1998 (33-21) and 2001 (42-20)."

One Bronco Nation Under God Basketball Woes

Last night's men's BB game at the Pavilion was an unadulterated disgrace!  The BSU basketball program just cannot seem to consistently achieve harmony.  We were outplayed in every aspect of the game by an average Idaho team, eventually losing by 24.  Why does this happen?  Is it the coaching or lack of recruiting competitive players?  I'm gonna say it's half coaching, half recruiting.  That also translates to diminished fan support.  With less than 8,000 coming out for the game, we left over 4,000 empty seats for our rival and biggest home game of the year.  Idaho fans filled about 40% of the Pavilion.  That stinks.  This program needs new energy to compete with the football team.  What is the next step for Greg Graham?

One Bronco Nation Under God Anyone notice the new BSU roster classification?

They appear to be going the way of Willingham's Washington and the Stanford roster and list the athletes in terms of their academic year, not their eligibility status.  Example:  Redshirt Freshman Malcolm Johnson is listed as a Sophomore, in anticipation of continued Fall 2010 enrollment.  So, the Seniors who redshirt will be listed as Seniors for 2 consecutive years.  I guess it shows more commitment to academics.  It might get confusing for fans.  I don't like it.  Thoughts?

One Bronco Nation Under God Corso on Game Day

The all knowing college football guru, Lee Corso, made a BSU-TCU prediction this morning:

TCU by 27 or more.

In other related Corso predictions:

Abraham Lincoln shoots John Wilkes Booth.

The South wins the Civil War.

In 1929, buy lots of stock.  Can't miss.

Japan wins WWII.

African-American Richie Brockel wins Fiesta Bowl MVP.

Mike Leach takes Texas Tech to the BCS in 2010.

Robb Akey is Sam Elliott's love-child.

One Bronco Nation Under God Thank you OBNUG.

A big thank you to all the OBNUG staffers and posters for all of the good info, commentary, insight, and humor you have provided everybody in 2009.  This site has really opened the eyes to a lot of BSU fans and opposing fans.  I can only hope that Kevan does not pull another "Urban Meyer" and take a temporary leave of absence.  Here is to 2010 being even better.  Happy New Year!  Cheers.

Go Broncos!

One Bronco Nation Under God Fiesta Bowl Team Hotels

According to the BAA, the Broncos will be staying at the Scottsdale Plaza Resort.  The BSU fan hotel will also be headquartered in Scottsdale at the Intercontinental Montelucia Resort.  The Frogs will be staying at the Fairmont Scottsdale.  Frog fans will likely be staying at their homes somewhere close.  If you guys want to stay near the team, there are dozens of hotels available along Scottsdale Rd. within 5 miles.  Keep in mind, the team hotel is about 30 miles from the stadium. Info on pre-game activities will be available early this week, but will probably be pretty similar to last time (parade, pep rally, drinking games, etc.).  And if any of you guys appreciate a good Sauerbraten, then try Haus Murphy in Glendale before the game.  Good travels.  See you there.

One Bronco Nation Under God One more thing for the Rainbow Warriors to worry about.

Hawaii's QB Alexander done for season.

"The 6-foot-3, 230-pound senior will have surgery Saturday to repair "major ligament damage," leaving the pass-heavy Warriors with virtually no game experience at the quarterback position.  Entering the Louisiana Tech game, Alexander led the nation in total offense (446 yards), ranked second in passing (411.3 yards) and fifth in passing efficiency (178.8).

Junior college transfer Bryant Moniz or sophomore Shane Austin will become the starter.

As if we were too worried anyway.

One Bronco Nation Under God Mid-Major Roundup

There is a new team on our tail.  Houston!  Their gawdy stats will woo the voters, as will their non-conference shedule.  If they go undefeated, that means they will have beaten two Big 12 teams and one SEC team.  They are capable of winning all those, along with their mediocre CUSA slate.  I see Southern Miss as their only possible stumbling block.

Houston wins over Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, and Mississippi State will surely outlast BSU's strength of schedule schedule if we both go undefeated, meaning UH will get the BCS nod.  So, now we got that to worry about (and an endless supply of botched snaps).

One Bronco Nation Under God Austin Pettis

I wouldn't expect too much from Pettis vs. Miami (OH).  A source very close to me (my own eyes) tells me that he was coming out of the football offices this afternoon with a severe limp, menacing frown, and about 10 lbs. of ice wrapped around his knee.  Based on what I saw, I would be shocked to see him in uniform tomorrow.  I wish him a speedy recovery.  This would be the perfect chance to see Burks and/or Kirby in action.
