Galen Center Nominated in Design Competition

A Los Angeles real estate and development blog, Curbed LA, held a contest last month to find the ugliest building in Los Angeles.  Apparently they're now in the judging phase, and profiling some of the nominees.  Tuesday they profiled that oh so SuCtastic of venues, the Galen Center, in all its embossed-brick sculpted glory.  I had nothing to do with the nomination, and I don't think it will win.  It's no worse than the rest of the costcos and home depots in town, right?

Here's what they had to say:

"This is one ugly building because it is just a big heavy mass. It looks like a giant brick at the corner of Jefferson and Figueroa. Also, I find the pee-chee folder like reliefs to be very cheesy. There are a lot of USC buildings that are very nice. However, this is definitely not one of them."

But my real question is if the Galen Center wins, would they hang a banner for it inside?
