"To be a fullback you have to love the game, you have to love hitting people," he said. "That’s what I do. I really don’t care about the publicity. I don’t need a thank you. I just love playing football and I just like hitting people."
Henry Hynoski, from this Newsday article. Sounds like a fullback to me!

Welcome to New York Prince!
My take on the Mount Rushmore of UConn Basketball.
Thank you for the unbelievable season Kemba and good luck in the pros.
"I volunteered ... this is the first time I've publicly have said this, to sit out games this year," Calhoun said on the Dan Patrick Show, according to CBSSports.com. "Whether I agree or disagree with the NCAA is not important. I am the head coach at the University of Connecticut, therefore I should take full responsibility for anything that happened."
To all those ESPN people (*cough*Doug Gottlieb*cough*) who felt the NCAA should have suspended Calhoun during this season, he proposed that idea to them. Apparently they turned it down because they didn't want to mess with the good thing that was eventually going to go down in March & April.

Bears plan on playing starters in Week 17...slight glimmer of hope
I know that Lovie Smith made it clear in his press conference earlier in the week that he intended to play his starters. As we all know things can change throughout the week, which is why it is quite pleasant as a Giants fan to see this article published today, which makes it seem almost definite that the Bears are going to do their best to keep their rivals out of the postseason, whether or not the #1 overall seed is up for grabs.
Not only does it make sense to knock out a team so you don't have to play them for a 3rd time in one season, but if a team has already clinched a first round bye and the starters rest in week 17, thats almost 3 weeks of rest that the starters have. Seems like too much time in between playing football. I feel like Devin Hester said it best:
"You don't want to sit out three weeks," receiver Devin Hester said. "That's a long time for a player to sit out, and not really get in the game atmosphere and the conditioning. Knowing that we've got a bye week the following week, I would love to go out and play the whole game, finish out, and make sure I stay on my keys and points, and make sure I'm in top shape when the playoffs start."
Whatever the case, the Bears will be my 2nd favorite team playing on Sunday and I'll be checking the scoreboards on ESPN just like the Giants players will be checking the scoreboards at FedEx Field.
GO GIANTS!!!
ESPN's 200 Best Players in NFL: Giants
What's goin' on Big Blue View? First fanposthere, and I'm not really providing any sort of insight. Just providing some ESPN Insider stuff for those of you who don't have it since its been sort of a slooooooow news day. Scouts Inc. provided a list of the Top 200 players in the NFL and there were 7 Giants players that made the cut. The first Giant to make the list was Justin Tuck at #61. Here's the top ten in NFL then the Giants players after the jump
Best Players in the NFL:
3. Darrelle Revis
5. Drew Brees
6. Joe Thomas
10. Tom Brady
Mo Harkless update...
Apparently, Harkless almost recommitted on Saturday, per Rivals.com
"Harkless said Saturday that he had considered re-committing to UConn but decided to hold off. Huskies' assistant coach Andre LaFleur along with many other coaches were seen at the New York Panthers matchup."
It seems that, even though there are several new schools in play, Harkless could pull a C.J. Leslie and recommit to the team that he had decommitted from.
I was upset when I read about this kid opening up his recruitment again and I'd love to see him playing at UConn. I'd have to think that we are in the lead considering there was a verbal commitment and now he's playing in CT.
What do you guys think?
The Calometer made it on to ESPN.com...sorta
So I was reading through ESPN Insider's Rumors in College Basketball. Stumbled across a little piece about Enosch Wolf. The piece goes on to explain how Wolf will probably replace Mandeldove and how not much is known about the guy except for the fact that he chose UConn over Georgetown, Georgia Tech, Boston College and Oklahoma.
"Wolf has a decent shot at a starting job this season, assuming he can adjust to Big East banging. Neither Ater Majok (Sudan via Australia) or Charles Okwandu (Nigeria) has been able to make that leap yet. With the addition of 6-foot-10 freshman Michael Bradley (Chattanoogastan), the Huskies have definitively cornered the market on big men who would rather not be in the paint."
The bold part is where ESPN links to UConnBlog Justin's article the about all the transfers in UConns history. Never thought I'd see an ESPN piece linking to the UConn Blog.
Here's the link if any of you have ESPN Insider: http://insider.espn.go.com/ncb/features/rumors
