Linebrink: What do we want?

Scott Linebrink's numbers since being dealt to Milwaukee:

7 IP
4 H
3 BB
1 ER
1 HR

So, those numbers have limited usage due to the extraordinarily small sample size.

But, Linebrink has been on the team for half a month already, and he's been great. I think it's substantial that he's done well in the first 1/4 of the time he was rented for by Doug.

If he posts zeros for the rest of the year, will you still be upset at the prospects given away?

What if he performs well in the playoffs?
What if he posts a sub 2 ERA and we don't make the playoffs?

How well does Linebrink have to perform for the deal to be considered a success for the Brewers?

Ryan Braun as an OF

Much has been made of Ryan Braun's defensive struggles at 3B, and those who say he won't cut it at 3B in the bigs say he's going to stick in an OF corner.

This off season, Braun was usually ranked the the 20-40 range of prospects. If he moves off 3B, how much does this affect his value?

As many know, he absolutely raked this spring (.353/.405/.912), and has continued his play in AAA, with 4 HR's this weekend, giving him a AAA line of .343/.425/.886. It's a small sample size, but not extremely small, and his numbers are out of control.

Anyways, assuming passable defense, where does Braun rank as a 3B? As an OF, how far does he slide down the list?

If Braun is considered an OF, is he as good of a prospect as Bruce, Maybin, or Upton?

Go Brewers!

Just doing a little fantasy scouting...

And these 3 guys are intriguing me. We've got:

David Purcey, P (Tor)

Travis Wood, P (Cin)

Scott Mathieson, (Phil)

Mathieson I've heard of, but I don't have any real info on him. Wood and Purcey I've never really heard anything about... far off from the majors? lacking the stuff to make it in the majors? Future roles (starter or releiver)? I'd really like to learn anything I can about these 3.

Thanks guys.

Hey Guys.

I'm just sorting out which baseball books I'll be purchasing for the 2007 season. Seeing as this site is free, I'm definitely going to be purchasing John's book.

The two other books I'm looking at purchasing are probably BA's prospect handbook, and possibly BP's as well.

The thing is, BA and BP both sell a prospect book, but then to access their websites you have to fork over cash again. What is the better deal? Getting the comprehensive book at the beginning of the season, or getting full access to the websites throughout the season?

Also how does John's newsletter compare to his book, and if you had to buy one, which one would it be and why.

Thanks Guys

In light of Joel Zumaya's freak injury revelation...

I thought it might be a great time to discuss Guitar Hero. Any fellow intense GH gamers on this site? I got Guitar Hero 2 a few weeks ago and felt like a true rock star when I beat Freebird on expert today... it was truly a beautiful moment. Game mags have all put the game in at least their top 10 if not top 5 games of the year. A pretty stellar investment, even at the $70 it takes to buy the game.

What song is your favorite? I'd say Carry on my Wayward Son and Jessica are my favorites from GH2, and Heart Full of Black from GH1.
