Anyone hear about Alfonzo Dennard getting arrested? If this makes him drop in the draft, I wouldn't mind snatching him up in the 5th or something. Thoughts?

What we should be thinking about:

If we don't get Reggie OR LaRon:
I think we should look at Terrance Newman to be our new free safety. I know he's getting up there in age, but I think if we stick back there he'll cover great. He's always been a great cover corner. As for our situation at Right Tackle:

We should take a look at Marcus McNeill. Great tackle and he should able to slide over to the right with little trouble.

Thoughts?

Gang Green Nation Why Sanchez is just not the answer.

I know a lot of you will probably be on me for this, but just hear me out. Please.

Also, I've never been a Sanchez fan, and this is my opinion.

Let me start out by saying that Sanchez has played very well at times for this team, and I absolutely acknowlege the fact that he has won some games for us. But I have surmised that his eagerness to declare for the 2009 Draft was more financially motivated that he'll ever let on. I have to admit that it was a smart move; with the new rookie wage scale in place, there has been a dramatic decrease in the amount of money paid out to first time players. But the fact that Sanchez had only 19 or so games of starting experience under his belt should have been a red flag from the get go. A seasoned quarterback is one that will show leadership in times of need.

More after the jump.

Gang Green Nation So Nnamdi Played Us All Along.

http://peterking.si.com/2011/07/29/eagles-make-surprising-splash-by-signing-asomugha-from-jets-cowboys/?sct=hp_t2_a4&eref=sihp

So, according to Sports Illustrated's Peter King, Nnamdi wanted to join Andy Reid from the very beginning. He felt that their chances for a Super Bowl run were greater than His Royal Rexness. Well Nnamdi, I, along with Gang Green Nation have a very strong message for you, sir.

Karma, is not a very kind thing. Karma will not turn a blind eye. It will all come back upon you, for it is the way of balancing all that is the universe. The Football Gods will not let us suffer!

I'll admit, even I, who was never high on the idea of chasing the whirlwind known from here forth as Mr. Asomugha, found myself checking Twitter accounts of all the known football journalists (minus Incarcerated Bob) at all hours of the morning, hoping for some end to the hell week of waiting we experienced. I knew Tannenbaum had only one name on his list, and would not stop until that name was on the back of a Jets Jersey, or that name was signing the dotted line in another facility somewhere across the country. I knew Tannenbaum would not sign another free agent until the dust settled after the Holmes signing, and we knew Mr. Asomugha's status. Well now, we can turn our attention to other pressing needs we still have. What needs could we address, you ask? Well after all this somber news, a bit of good news after the jump.

Gang Green Nation Free Agent Running Backs For Sale!!!

It's been a while since my last FanPost guys, so take it easy on me...

But something has been flying under the radar these past couple months that has really caught my interest. There are two premium running backs slated to hit free agency this year, and it's startling to see that neither of their teams has made them a higher priority. Granted, I believe neither team will let these guys go easily, but my qualm is with how well LT can perform this year. Somehow I think Schotty will completely forget this guy is slowly hitting the wall and feed him the ball much more than he should, just like last season. If we got either of these guys, I'd have no problem letting LT go.

More after the jump.

Gang Green Nation Really Jim Nantz? Really?!

This is absurd, Jim Nantz?

I mean, I can't believe I missed this during the broadcast. Absurd and Self-aggrandizing? Sheesh. So while we get enjoy the fact that our team backed up all its talk during the week, after we play a hell of a game, we're forced to lsiten to your ridiculous commentary and what are supposed to be non-biased opinions? Phil Simms was bad enough. But we all know you're riding the Patriot male appendage bandwagon. Why don't you do us Jet fans a favor and call out sick next week; I'm sure Mike Mayock would love to be sitting in the booth calling a much more fair game. I cannot be forced to listen to your idle banter because you love the Patriot male appendage bandwagon. Just stay home dude. And maybe take Phil Simms with you, even though he's much better than you'll ever be (which isn't saying much.)

Gang Green Nation Mendenhall didn't get a 100 yards on us???

Apparently, that bad spot in the second quarter came back to haunt the Steelers. The chain gang accidentally began moving forward, so head ref Pete Morelli and crew got the call wrong. Oh well, seems that the Jets haven't allowed a hundred yard rusher yet this season. Works for me though, since it was a horrible call. Thank goodness it didn't cost us the game... At least this time, the call was amended after the fact. I still think we have to play against the refs more than our opponent. http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/Pittsburgh-Steelers-Rashard-Mendenhall-loses-100-yard-game

Great one by Walt Handelsman, Newsday's opinion columnist and cartoonist. This is especially good for those that felt the earthquake earlier in the week that affected the Tri-State area.

According to Ben Maller and the Wall Street Journal (I know, lol) the coaching staff has been giving McKnight scout team reps at corner. Hmm... But if he does end up playing and playing well at corner, I still might be a little upset. If he does so, then the team gambled on him and let go of our other threats at the position (Leon, Woodhead and even Chauncey Washington.) IMO, however. What do you guys think?

Gang Green Nation Should the Jets take a look at Tommie Harris?

According to a couple of different sources, such as NFP and the Chicago tribune, ever since Harris has been benched, there is a possibility the former Pro Bowler could be traded. Now I know that he's more suited towards a Tampa 2, but I think Rex could really get him to perform with a change of scenary. He's still young at 27, and he hasn't been the same since his hamstring injury in Chicago. That change of scenary could prove pivotal towards regaining his Pro Bowl form, and we also need some depth on the D-Line for obvious reasons.

So what do you guys think?

What a Tool. In this article, he goes on to say that while Revis is our best defensive player (and he is, rightfully so), that our defense doesn't contain any "star power." Geez can we get someone to notify this guy his "World's Biggest Jackass" Award is ready?!

P.s. Not to mention that he was a total idiot and didn't have the decency to say he was totally off on so many counts with his last article about Revis never playing for the Jets again. I posted that article with sarcasm, but of course we can't really convey that.

Gang Green Nation Interesting Developments Concerning Agents Schwartz & Feinsod

According to Yahoo! Sports and Mr. Jason Cole, Chargers WR Vincent Jackson has been able to bear the brunt of his financial shortcomings as of late, due to the "generosity" of Neil Schwartz & Jonathan Feinsod. The article can be read here.

With such revelations coming to light, one can only speculate upon the role that these men are playing within the contract stalemate that has plagued our own NY Jets. Could Schwartz & Feinsod be paying the fees that Revis has incurred during his holdout, with the understanding that they be fully compensated upon reaching an agreement with the Jets? With the guaranteed money that Mr. Revis is seeking, tacking on an extra 3 ~ 5% would more than suffice. Such accusations not only undermine Vincent Jackson, but as Schwartz and Feinsod represent mutiple players on multiple franchises, it raises questions as to how they conduct business. Their clients have showed they are very willing to hold-out, and if they are still receiving checks under the table, what else is there to deter such action?

One can only hope that Darrelle Revis will come to his senses.

Gang Green Nation Viable Backup Options

We, as intelligent Jet Fans can obviously see the Brunell Experiment is going absolutely nowhere. With Sanchez's play leaving us all worse for wear, we must, in vain hopes, discuss viable and possibly instrumental back up options. A second string quarterback is only one play away from being handed the keys, and Brunell, nor Clemens or O'Connell seem to be any kind of answer at all. With that said, Some of my possiblities are:

Joey Harrington - my first choice. He has fresh legs, having been out of the league for a little less than a year (maybe a little more, my memory is fuzzy... hmm...). He never truly had a chance as a starter in Detroit, Atlanta, Miami or New Orleans, but it is my firm belief that he can be quite a serviceable backup behind a strong offensive line, running game and a pedigree stable of receivers. Basically, hand him the ball with our team, and I really don't think he'll mess it up as bad as Brunell. Or others.

Brooks Bollinger - Sure, why not give old Brooksy a shot with the team that drafted him again? Haha (sheesh we must be real desperate...)

Drew Stanton - The kid is young, but he was pretty decent back at Michigan. Maybe he can be groomed.

Erik Ainge - Call rehab and get his ass out. I know he can play. But can he stay clean? If we're thinking about actually keeping Ainge we might as well give a call to...

Quincy Carter - Seriously? Hell why not. Can't be worse than our current Number two.

So who is it guys?

Gang Green Nation Broncos Release Akin Ayodele - Should We Take a Look?

They just released him today. According to wiki, he's totalled 630 tackles, 9.5 sacks, and 7 INTs over his 8 year career. Should Tanny do his due diligence and take a peek? I mean, in a 3-4 you can never have enough linebackers. He's also played for Jacksonville, Dallas and Miami. We all know 2 out of those 3 teams employed a 34, so he has experience in it. I think it's worth it.

Gang Green Nation Where's the Difference Between Revis & His Agents?

Do you guys honestly believe that Darrelle Revis has seen a single offer made to him?

I don't believe that Revis should be to blame for where these talks have been going. I believe his blame lies in putting too much faith into his money mongering agents. I truly believe that his agents have been carrying out negotiations with only their interests in mind, and not Revis's. They most likely glance over the offers, and if they don't contain enough compensation, they throw it back in Tanny's face. I also think that Tanny is willing to pony up, but these guys are just being stubborn assholes. Make any sense?

Gang Green Nation Schwartz & Feinsod On the Move!

Just not where we want them to be.

According to Yahoo! Sports (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_ylt=Ag2ULe.w.oughhD8028pSxVDubYF?slug=jc-jacksonseahawks082010), the Chargers have given permission to the Seahawks to open contract talks with WR Vincent Jackson, who is locked in a heated contract dispute with his hometeam. As we all know by now, or even if you don't, Schwartz and Feinsod also represent our very own Darrelle Revis.

Now for all you wonderful fellow Jet Fans out there, do you believe this development will have any bearing upon talks between the Jets and our star cornerback? Any thoughts?

P.s. As this is my first fanpost, please bear with me guys!
