Podium Cafe No 2012 Pais Vasco and SanSeb? Looks Like

biciciclismo has an article up about the possible end of Pais Vasco and SanSeb this year. the gist, as i understand it (via the translation gremlims), is that the local Basque government can only provide 60 percent support for the editions this year, and despite best efforts, the remaining monies have not been found. this also poses a threat to possible editions in 2013 and going forward. a sad day for cycling if these two long held races, 51 and 31 editions, respectively, disappear from the calendar.

if i misunderstood any of the article, please clarify the points in the comments. thank you.

Saxo Bank 2012 Kit

Tim de Walle has kindly taken pictures of the Saxo Bank 2012 kit. Should be easy to spot the boys from the air. Not too keen on the front of the kit, but i do like the back. (What can i say, i'm a sucker for blue).

Podium Cafe this is part of the 2012 TDF Stage 2 route? seriously?

According to Belgian paper Nieuwsblad, (video link) this section of road in Wallonia, dubbed the "most absurd road in Europe" by France 3, is included in the route book for Stage 2 of the 2012 Tour de France, 207 kilometers from Visé to Tournai. The Tour’s official website describes the arrival in Tournai as a chance to pay tribute to Wouter Weyland.

will be interesting seeing the peloton go through this. ramp up the pace and string them out.

The profile is flat until the last ten miles that are very attractive with double the final step through the top of El Castillo, with ramps up to 10% and even sections of pavé, which would undoubtedly break the race and increase the differences in the overall standings.

The route of 168 kilometers, is favorable to the ascension to the top of Portillo de Busto, 2 second category and is located at Kilometer 121. After the descent, the goal in San Juan del Monte (3 rd) can open the first differences among the favorites.

Samuel Sanchez, winner in 2010, Igor Antón, Denis Menchov, Joaquim Rodriguez, Stefano Garzelli Beñat Intxausti or are some big names in the round Burgos.

First stage of the round leaving from and arriving in Oviedo Gijón for 162km and first contact with the mountain but not the hardness that awaits us in the following stages. However, the start of the Tour of Asturias will mark the first differences due to the Alto de San Martín de Huerces. Port is a short but being so hard and be close to goal and we will see who is not going to win this year's Vuelta.
