Gaslamp Ball PTBNL Has Been NJAMA

That is, the player to be named later in the Gonzalez trade was named just a minute ago.

In a seemingly unrelated article on ESPN, it's revealed that Boston is sending the Padres one Eric Patterson

I believe, unofficially, he is the hojillionth outfielder on the roster.

Has anybody seen enough of him to have an opinion? Or does someone want to look up his advanced metrics to let us all know that he's not going to be another guy that bounces from leadoff to eighth in the order and then on down to the minors?

Gaslamp Ball Taking Our Temperature

Gaslamp Ball Plugging Away

Writing is a hobby of mine and I tend to focus my attention on sports. Occasionally, I'll make the Padres a subject and I like to get feedback from ardent fans like those of you who frequent Gaslamp Ball since me, myself and I don't make for the best critics.

Last June I linked here to something in which I suggested Trevor was declining and that he should be replaced. It was lightly skewered in the comments section but I took away a few key points like "do some better research" and "don't be so grandiose".

So, hopefully my style has improved over the last 10 months. I posted the following on my website two weeks ago, but I think it still holds up.

Let me know what you think.

Thanks,
