I realize that this may have been covered previously, nonetheless, I would like to know: "Would you now consider Notre Dame a "cupcake" on the schedule"?

Think about it; we've all talked about PSU playing cupcakes such as Akron, Fla. Intl. and Louisiana School for the blind (OK; I made that one up for laughs). However, I'm not so certain that there really are any Div. I teams that meet the cupcake definition. Think about it: Div. I-AA Appy. State was probably thought of as a cupcake. Then there was Michigan. Long considered a "cupcake"; Toledo beat us a few years back. A few years ago "cupcakes" Rutgers, Louisville and Wake Forest weren't all that impressive. What about South Florida?

Any more I believe the "on any given day" theory. The team "more hungry" (i.e. preparation, execution and certainly attitude)wins the game. Yes, coaching and recruitment also play a role.

Like many others I certainly would like to see each game vs. a major program that is consistently rated in the top 25. Conversely, I'm really not too concerned about playing the likes of Coastal Carolina, etc. too. Is this padding the "W" column? I'm not so sure about this anymore. If a Div I-AA team such as CC wants the exposure; then have at it; right?

Now don't take this too far out of context; yes I would be concerned about padding the "W" column if Joe started to schedule the likes of Clarion or Millersville (I don't mean to offend those of these fine institutions and I think you understand my drift). I am thinking only of Div. I schools.

I know I am asking for it and I was just curious.

Shields up!
