Facebook | Arizona Diamondbacks's Notes: re: Reynolds Talk

"What's interesting is that Reynolds chose to share his feelings about his teammates to the media rather than address them during one of the many meetings the team has had where players have spoken or directly to the player or players he thought were responsible.

"When we have team meetings I don't say anything," Reynolds said. "I don't have a lot of time in this game. I just haven't felt like it was my place, but like I said I was pretty hot last night and when you're upset and you have things on your mind and you have an outlet to say it, it just all boiled over."

Count catcher Chris Snyder among those that was in agreement with Reynolds had to say.

"Everything that was said was dead on," Snyder said. "I think there's a lack of a lot of things. The main thing being heart. Guys around feel like they should be owed something, everything should be given to them, they don't have to fight, they don't have to compete. They just go out there, put a smile on their face on every first and 15th of the month and other than that it's ho hum. Winning doesn't matter as long as they get to the first and 15th they'll be happy.

"You can't play that way and expect to compete. We lack certain things, heart being one, at certain times brains and more times than not guts. Those are three things that are needed to win.""

not sure how this will come on on the board since it is a link to Facebook, but let me try it.

D-Backs' problems run deeper than Hinch

""The problem here is not the managerial thing," Davis said.

So what's the problem?

The problem is that Byrnes assembled a faulty bullpen. The problem is that veterans like Tony Clark, Eric Byrnes and Chad Tracy have given this team nothing. The problem is that there isn't much depth on this team, and there are too many guys in the room who aren't winners, who are resigned to losing and numb to failure.

A few still bad-mouth the manager, and Hinch knows they exist. Those players must be washed out."

Interesting....... can't believe it came from you know who.

Shoulder surgery for Webb looking likely

"One possibility appears to be surgery to repair his labrum, a procedure that would require a nine-month rehab process.

But a decision has not been made as Webb is expected to seek a second opinion this week."

Probably doesn't come as a shock. Not a lot of detail in article.

"Webb left the team and returned to Phoenix, where he will be re-evaluated, according to manager A.J. Hinch. The setback casts doubt on whether he will pitch again this season.

"He didn't feel very good," Hinch said. "So it's a bad sign for us. We were so positive about where he was in his rehabilitation. He'll have to get further tests and see our doctors.""

Oh no!! Not good, not good at all!!!!

Postseason play not out of sights

"But General Manager Josh Byrnes prefers the glass-half-full view. He sees a season that's not even one-third of the way complete. Rather than harping on underperformance, he sees room for improvement. And, sure, 12 1/2 games (entering Thursday) is a lot to make up in the standings, but Byrnes notes that it's not like it hasn't been done before - and often, in recent seasons.

As such, he isn't ready to start selling off parts, despite the recent rebirth of baseball's rumor mill, which seemed to jump-start with last week's aborted trade of San Diego pitcher Jake Peavy. "

talks about Webb and Conor Jackson too... Don't hold your breathe for quick returns is what i gather out of it....

D-Backs waiting out Young's slump

D-Backs waiting out Young's slump

MIAMI - Diamondbacks center fielder Chris Young's struggles have become so pronounced, just watching him hit has become a painful endeavor, and his slump has become so prolonged that the cries for a demotion to the minor leagues seem to increase by the day.

"He's struggling, but it could turn around," Diamondbacks General Manager Josh Byrnes said. "We've seen it with other guys on our team. Like any player, he's had some struggles, like May and June last year. He's scuffling right now. Hopefully he gets back in a rhythm."

Hopefully?? So instead of being pro-active and sending him to a place where the pressure is off and he can focus on fixing his "issues", you are "hopeful" he'll just turn it around? Yeah, right. And I am still hopeful that one day, I will be The Pope.

my vote?
1. Cardinals (always said this was a football town)
2. Diamondbacks
3. Suns
4. Coyotes

Would rather see the Diamondbacks in the #1 spot... How would the rest of you rank the pro sport teams in the valley?
