Guiding Joe Home
Dunno if this has been posted anywhere, but if you aren't able to make it to the prcession for the movement "Guide Joe Home", WJAC TV is going to stream it live (I'm assuming helicopter?)....
http://www.wjactv.com/videos/news/WJAC-722-live-video/vFf4y/
If you can get it from work or wherever you are, could be a very fitting tribute to Joe. It is no surprise to me at the outpouring of support through this time and think this is one more fitting way to honor Joe.
Collegian
So the Collegian is taking orders for yesterday's paper and you can call them to order them. They are selling them for 6.00. I would love to order one and have it shipped, but I want to know first, was it filled with lots of pictures? I'm thinking of making some sort of a mural/collage of him for my man cave, and this might help.
I know there are some students who visit here who may have seen yesterday's, if not, if anyone is in the area and saw it please let me know. Thanks
Sally Jenkins Post Chat
I know nobody reads these, but Sally Jenkins comes off very positive in my eyes in this, as a DC area resident, I have tremendous respect for her level headedness in this chat today.
Penn State Football Story
I was not able to watch this week's edition of the Penn State Football Story until 11:00 last night (that's when it airs on MASN for those of us in the DC area) so I may be a bit late on this one, but did anybody else notice that this week they left out the amazing classic "They put on college football's most distinctive uniform" intro. I personally get jacked up for that clip every week and even watch it Saturdays before kickoff usually.
Think it was just substituted for that "Welcome Back" thing, or do you think they have scrapped it? Seems to be such a great intro to the show and staple of it that we couldn't do away with it, could we?
Bowl Game
Ok guys quick question here, long time reader occasional poster, but have a big question. I'm sure some of you read the stuff over at Lions247 and I think we all agree it is a great site; that being said, there is a lot of speculation and talk on the boards there with Joe retiring after the game (check the board today with the "shady email)
I am just wondering from you all what the "truth" is you think in those or how credible we believe all this is.
The reason I ask is I leave for my honeymoon on Dec 27th. Wife and I will be in St. Lucia until 1/2. As you can see, I will be out of country for the game, plan on DVRing it and watching as soon as I get home, but if it is going to be Joe's last game, I want to witness live and will find a place down there to watch. NEED HELP AND ADVICE!! Thanks in advance

Tailgating Saturday
Hey guys
Got tickets to the game this weekend for the wife and I in SAU with a parking pass. Just wondering how bad it looks with the weather for parking. I know last year for Minnesota and in the past there have been times when they close down the grass lots for parking and tailgating and send everyone downtown to park and shuttle in. What are the chances of that this weekend? Where would it be on the web if they decide to do so?
On another note, we have 3 tix in SAU with seat backs and are only using our 2, if anyone is looking for a single ticket let me know.....WE ARE
Joe Pa Song
Don't know if any of you listen to country music, but there's a song called "Ala-Freakin Bama" written by Trace Adkins. Pretty much written last year before their title game (I believe Cowboy Troy from Big & Rich also wrote one named Hook 'em Horns as a counter in the days before.
I have seen Penn State songs, so while waiting for this game this week I have worked on a little piece about our Lions, here's the lyrics hopefully you can connect it to the song. WE ARE
He wore rolled up khakis
Starin through black glasses
Rolled in to "T-town"
With a freshman quarterback
They said you have no chance
Coming down here to win
He said "The Bear is dead"
You better watch your head
Do you really stand a chance?
His name's Joe Pa-Freakin terno (Joe Pa-Freakin Terno)
Joe Pa-Freakin Terno (Joe Pa-Freakin Terno)
Man you gotta love him
Joe Pa-Freakin Terno (JOE PA)
Jack the Ripper got them started
Then the D-Line got mad
They practice with LJ
And our 'backers fly for Scrap
They can roar with the Lions
Joe will get them in line
They will blitz all night
Under those southern lights
I think we got a good shot
Cuz we're led by
Joe Pa-Freakin Terno (JOE PA-FREAKIN TERNO)
Joe Pa-Freakin Terno (JOE PA-FREAKIN TERNO)
Man you gotta love him
Joe Pa-Freakin Terno (JOE PA)
The offense will put up a few
Led by Royster, Bolden and even K-New
We've got the northern weapons
And the Zug gives us the grace of heaven
Don't forget we're led by
Joe Pa-Freakin Terno (JOE PA FREAKIN TERNO)
Joe Pa-Freakin Terno (JOE PA FREAKIN TERNO)
Man you gotta love him
Joe Pa-Freakin Terno (JOE PA)

Thanks BSD
Just wanted to say thank you for everybody here at Black Shoe Diaries. I am a lifelong Nittany Lion fan born in PA who moved to Northern VA and unfortunately could not afford the out of state tuition to attend PSU (wanting to be a teacher and knowing what your salary will be will make you not want to be 130,000+ in debt). I found this site last season and have been a reader every day since I discovered it.
My big thank you goes to the members who post so frequently and give me the information I need to tell people the truth about this fine university. While the DC area has its share of Staters, it has a ton of people who are from all over the country and fans of all places, SEC, Big XII, ACC, you name it (not to mention the bandwagon people but that's another story). All of the information here has helped me to keep close to my roots and also helped me learn what to say to co workers and friends who may bash PSU, or be down on the B10, or just follow mainstream media.
Once again thank you and I know it is a long time until football season again but WE ARE
Special Teams
Just a quick question I have not seen anybody talking about this thought I'd bring it up.
People were saying Derrick Williams did not have that big of a day on returns Saturday, and while the numbers might agree, it was fairly obvious THEM was afraid to kick to him. This resulted in great field position, I believe there was one drive at the 40, one at the 50, and numerous shanked punts and kicks that gave good field position.
Shouldn't we be stressing how key it was that they were afraid of him and that it helped the team out, or am I pushing it here?
