Are we Flop City?
This video here has gotten me to thinking, is there too much flopping by our team, namely Chris Paul and Blake Griffin? I have read dozens of comments from other NBA fans complaining that watching the Clippers is unbearable due to the high volume of flopping. Here is one example that sums up the collective thinking:
Most people have soured on the Clippers for very legitimate reasons, this video showing them. I, like many others, looked forward to the CP3-Blake pairing, but by now I really don't like watching them play. I won't deny the hype machine contributes to my annoyance, but the constant flopping, whining and shortcutting to "elite team" really bug me. Blake is too athletic to simply fall down for an easy flop and likely call when he could just as easily stand his ground and stuff the ball back into the offensive player's face. CP3 has quick hands, he can be a pickpocket or get in the passing lanes rather than look for minimal contact so he can dive onto the floor.
It's cheap, exploitative basketball that I can't root for. There are waaaay too many examples here for this not to be a trend, and I've watched too many Clippers games this year to see that this is how they play defense.

Blake Griffin made being a Clippers fan cool last season en route to being named a Western Conference All-Star and the Rookie of the Year. Can he go from first-year wonder to league MVP, lifting the Clippers to the postseason in the process?

Pictures From Viewing Party January 14, 2011
Hey fans,
The pictures that I took from last nights viewing party are now up on my Photobucket site. You can find the link below. It was great seeing everyone out there. Thanks again Steve for putting this together. I look for to more of these future events together. Although the game didn't result in the way we wanted to, we still had a lot of fun together. I hope everyone enjoys the pictures.

Chris Kaman Will Miss a Minimum of Three Weeks
Los Angeles Clippers center Chris Kaman will miss a minimum of three weeks due to an aggravated bone bruise and deltoid ligament sprain of his left ankle.
Kaman was examined by team physician Dr. Steven Shimoyama after undergoing an MRI on Dec. 6. He was then was re-evaluated on Dec. 9 by Dr. Richard D. Ferkel.
Kaman will wear a protective boot when not participating in assigned rehabilitation.
The 2010 All-Star has appeared in 10 games this season and is averaging 10.5 points and 7.1 rebounds per game. Kaman originally injured the ankle on Nov. 9 in New Orleans.
Blake Griffin, apparently the best at everything
So yeah, Blake Griffin is kind of a big deal. Rookie of the Year is basically a given. He’s really shooting for Rookie of the Forever, which he’ll win easily.
Greg Oden Said He Will Not Play Opening Night
Was this a surprise to anyone out there? This likely means we'll see Marcus Camby in the starting lineup for his return to Staples. Also, this slightly improves our chance of starting the season 1-0.
Similarities of Stephen Strasburg to Blake Griffin
Does this sound familiar at all: a young phenom who was taken with the #1 overall pick with hopes to resurrect a troubled franchise will miss an entire season due to an injury. The culture of Washington Nationals baseball was completely changed when Stephen Strasburg made his debut. I know all of us recall the news when we first heard Blake Griffin would miss the season opener, then hear it'll be 8-10 weeks, then ultimately the entire season. With Strasburg expected to miss 12-18 months with Tommy John Surgery, I couldn't help but notice the eerie similiarties between both of these young phenoms. The positive side is that October 27th is just around the corner and we'll realize he was worth the wait.

Knicks 113 - Clippers 107 - Battle For The 8th Spot (In The Lottery)
Tonight's Clippers game was a homecoming of sorts - the first home game after a disastrous 0-3 road trip and also the return of Baron Davis back to the line-up (and not a moment too soon, after Steve Blake's forgettable 9 turnover game last night in Denver. The Knicks haven’t won a single game against the Clippers at the Staples Center. The Clippers also haven’t lost a home game to an Eastern Conference team with a losing record all season. LA’s other team even lost by 19 just a few hours ago in the same building. It seemed like all the pieces were right there to set up a Clippers home win. A win tonight on Easter Sunday would be proof that there’s resurrection and can jump start the team over the last few remaining games.
