Sergio Santos
Does anyone know anything about this kid? He looks like a big guy 6'3" 225. Does he play exclusively at 3B? He's bounced around a little from the D-Backs to the Blue Jay's system, he was a #1 draft pick out of HS and is still only 24. In 113 games last year at AA he had 56 extra base hits.
The Twins just picked him up off waivers, is there still an upside here? or is he just going to be a AAA fill in? Why did the Blue Jays dump him? The Twins could certainly use some depth at 3B.
Who the hell is Luke Hughes?
So this guy is absolutely raking in New Britain for the Twins? It looks like he plays all over the field. He's got 9 home runs in April and is hitting in the high .300's. He isn't in John's prospect book, and as far as I know hasn't been on radar as a prospect for the Twins. Is this a flukey month? or a case of a guy putting it all together? He's only 23, where did he come from?
Bailey vs Slowey
Tonight Homer Bailey went against Kevin Slowey

Seems like both of these guys may not make their big league squads to start the season but both should see time in the show during 2008. These seem like pretty good stats late in spring training against what looks like each teams opening day lineup. So, my question is, who makes the biggest impact for their club this year?
Bill Smith's winter
Someone posted the below on Sethspeaks and I thought it was a really interesting way to look at what the Twins have done this winter. (Tampa Bay and NY Mets deals) Bill Smith is being hammered in the national press. In fact to quote Keith Law..."I think the Bill Smith Era in Minnesota will be poor, nasty, brutish, and short." But looking at all of the deals together I think it's been a decent off-season, especially when Smith was pretty much handcuffed with the Santana situation. I'd give him a B!
Harris = Bartlett
Harris is a better hitter, Bartlet a better defender
Humber + Guerra = Garza + Morlan
Garza > Humber, Guerra > Morlan so these cancel each other out.
Young + Gomez + Pridie + Mulvey >> Santana
I'd love to hear other's thoughts on this when you look at it this way.
Tyler Robertson vs Deolis Guerra
Tyler Robertson is a year older but how do they compare? Both are tall guys 6'5"+ with physical projectability. Each has a potential ++ pitch other than the fastball (TR: slider, DG: change). Who gets to the majors sooner, who burns out, who has the best career? From what I've read about both, they both have #1 projectibility, does Robertson's delivery hurt his potential as a starter? I'd love to hear who is the Twins #1 prospect now, I saw it's Guerra now!
