Losing all respect for the Saints, G. Williams
This year, the Saints were a feel good story. Winning games with great offense and an opportunistic defense, plus the rallying behind the team in a city that is apparently still recovering from Hurricane Katrina, which struck nearly 5 years ago. Seeing the fans and how good they were, many of us figured that we'd have no problem cheering for a team that such a great group of people adore as much as they do the Saints.
Bud Grant, honorary captain for Sunday
Of course, this means I admit to willingly clicking on a link to one of Senile Sid's ramblings, but I promise that's not where I first heard it! I saw it elsewhere and was linked to Sid's page when I finally did find the link.
Because making irrational hatred look stupid never gets old
After the Vikings thoroughly shamed and humiliated the Cowboys this weekend, the biggest item of controversy was the last touchdown scored by Minnesota. Pundits abound discussed whether that last touchdown, scored with 2 minutes left, on fourth down, was considered "running up the score." As mentioned before, our resident vagina Keith Brooking thought it was classless. Then again, when it comes to knowing what's classless, he'd be the expert, especially since it appeared that he got a pin and a choke out on Bernard Berrian not too long before that.
Oddly enough, from the fan's standpoint, the Cowboys fans do not appear to be entirely too offended by that last score. Perhaps it's because they buy into the belief that if you don't like it, you should stop them. Maybe it's because they were the team running up the score in the early 90s with Jimmy Johnson. Regardless of the reason, the outrage from Cowboy fans was minimal at best.
The real outrage, believe it or else, has come from those on the other side of the Mississippi. Apparently, hell hath no fury like an irrational cheesehead scorned. Those dolts have been unrelenting in their assertion that said touchdown was running up the score, and that the Vikings are dirty, cheap, classless, low-down, ne'er do wells. The Vikings, despite kicking an extra point, actually went for two after scoring due to trying to run up the score and show just how dirty, cheap, and classless they are. At least, that's what you would have thought had you believed some of those Packer rubes.

Dear Keith Brooking:
I am not a sophisticated individual. I'm a meat and potatoes kind of guy, I wear Wranglers, play football in the mud with my friends for fun (in said Wranglers), and once in a while, I like to tip a few back. Many football fans are like me, unsophisticated, and not educated in the ways of class. Thus, we turn to you for help! We have some questions about certain scenarios, and we'd like to know if these fall into classy or classless, since you are apparently an expert on determining the level of class in given incidents.

Remember When?
With all that has gone on in the past few weeks, I figured it would be a perfect time to reminisce on some of the events leading up to what we saw today. Certainly, those who are paying attention to football and also media pundits will remember many of these events. Remember when...?

Favre made his point, and Childress looked just plain stupid
I was thinking this as I watched the game, and again after the game, and this morning as well. I didn't have any stats or flowcharts or hard info to back my thought up, but my gut feeling on it was incredibly strong.

This Week's Sign of the Apocalypse
As it stands right now, there are ten Minnesota Vikings leading the NFC in Pro Bowl Voting at their respective positions. This is probably to be expected, as the Vikings are currently 8-1, lead their division by three games, and are on track to get a first round bye. This, however, is not the sign of the apocalypse.
William Henderson plans to boo Brett Favre
From multiple sources, including the Green Bay Press-Gazette and ESPN, among others.
One of Favre’s former teammates on the Packers’ Super Bowl championship team in 1996, William Henderson, will be leading the chorus of boo-birds.
Now, on one hand, you can certainly understand that William Henderson, being a career Packer, has an intense loyalty to the team, and wants to display said loyalty along with many others at Lambeau Field by booing the man that was once considered a deity in Wisconsin.
