Much Love To Jonathan Sanchez... (unintentional comparison to Zito)
I wouldn’t call him underappreciated, but Jonathan Sanchez is underappreciated.
I live in Denver and this was a promo a few years back. And to think this is all just coming up now! :-O

Giants the "most-liked" team
According to a Nielsen study cited in the Wall Street Journal, the Giants are the most liked team in MLB. Does this vibe with you?

Are you watching the Broncos on Sunday?
As weird as it may seem or sound, I think as a Broncos fan I am more interested in what happens in four other games (Jax, Mia, NYJ, Pitt) than I am about Denver v. Eagles this week. This is because I am not the most optimistic fan in Broncos Country. I am pretty much assuming a loss at Philly this week and am certain that we will need help to get in. Denver rarely plays well on the East Coast, and Philly needs this game as well. Given this perspective it means that the other games are more important this week than the Broncos game. Very weird position to be in, for sure, but I am sure I am not the only one. And if we lose to KC then I refuse to watch the Broncos until sometime in Aug 2010. ;-)
Broncs, Raiders Bitter Rivalry renewed?
Last week many of you wanted the Raiders to matter again because it is good for the rivalry. I think this last game brought it back, and I agree with everything this writer from the SF Chronicle says
2000s the Second Worst Decade in Broncos History?
These are the sorts of posts that happen when boredom meets depression meets reflection meets nostalgia.

To balance all this PDA with Colts fans
First, I want to say that the Colts fans who've posted here have been cool guys, and probably some of the classiest visitors all year. Right on! However, screw the Colts. I hate that team with a passion only rivaled with the Chargers (right now). The team has owned us for far too long, and almost everything about the franchise annoys me. Let me count the ways (briefly)

How come every time I come to my favorite sports blog to celebrate my favorite baseball team I see ads featuring the two teams I would most like to see disappear into the realm of 60-win seasons???
Your Orangin: Reflecting on Our Broncos Fandom
I've been a lurker (mainly because this is the best place for Broncos coverage) here for quite a while and have recently started posting. I've noticed many people are Broncos fans from outside Denver and the immediate area. Thus, in an effort to know this community more I am interested in knowing about your Broncos origin. How did you become a Broncos fan? Where are you from and how did that vibe with being a Broncos fan? What are your earliest memories of being a Broncos fan? Why do you think the Broncos have such a wide-reaching and dedicated following?
I love stat- and opinion-based threads, but sometimes it is worth it to just celebrate our orangin.

Denver's weak schedule
Even after beating the Pats some folks had the "weak" schedule angle. I think it was on ESPN and they mentioned things the Pats didn't do. But here are some interesting numbers to compare Denver's schedule to the other undefeated teams.

We’re gonna suffer like it’s 1999!
Many people are freaking out about the prospect of a bad season. Woody recently predicted 4-12, some are predicting worse and not many are predicting anything beyond 8-8. This is based on a myriad of issues and events with which we as Broncos Nation are painfully familiar, so no point in rehashing it all here.
But somehow I feel okay about everything, though. Not that I think this will be a great year. In fact, I think Woody’s forecast is very likely. But much of what we’re experiencing in 2009 reminds me of our season in 1999. The big obvious difference, however, is that we’re not coming off back-to-back titles, so 2009 will hurt much more. But while there are many other ways in which the seasons are not parallel, there are a couple things that will help me accept a bad season as long as we don’t completely implode as a franchise and bounce back as we did in 1999.
