My Son's first game

I am blessed and lucky to be headed to the game this Sunday in San Diego (I live about 120 miles away).  It is going to be my son's first pro football game and obviously his first Eagles game.  He's 9 and he's terribly excited.  Is there any BGN group get together that I can bring my boy to to learn what it means to be an Eagles fan and for him to meet more of the fan base?

Sunday Night Game Promo

No it doesn't surprise me.  No it shouldn't frustrate me but.....

I"m sitting here finishing report cards for my third graders and watching Notre Dame (at the moment) get hammered by Navy.  NBC keeps showing promos for the game tomorrow and I have seen Whitten run without his helmet, I've seen Dallas guys tackling Eagles, I've seen Romo celebrating a touchdown pass,  yet NOTHING positive for Philly.  Did we not kick their ass last year to get into the playoffs!?  Are there no highlights from that game they could show?  I cannot stand the Dallas bias the media feeds us.

Peter King's on crack

Look, I don't mind him not picking Philly to win the division.  One can make a strong argument about that, especially looking over the early problems of the O-line and losses on D.  I am ok with him not picking us to make the playoffs, although his 9-7 record underrepresents where I see us at the end of the year.  However, he has Philly 3rd BEHIND FREAKIN DALLAS!!!  That's a Dallas team we kicked the crap out of at the end of last year and all we did was get better while they didn't. Once again since they're Dallas we are all supposed to bow to special ed case of a coach and degenerate as an owner.  Bite me Peter King and I'll be happy to see you eat your words at the end of the year.

Anyone else sick of this

We are less than 24 hours since the announcement that Vick was joining the Eagles.  All I have heard (mainly from ESPN who I still believe is ruining sports as we know it with their minions of blowhards but I digress....) again, all I have heard is how.....

McNabb must be worried for his job....(really, if Donovan lobbied to get Vick here doesn't sound worried to me).

Eagles fans are running from the team....(as a fan who isn't particularly excited about the move I'm not burning my jerseys, sweatshirts, jackets, hats, t-shirts, or tickets anytime soon).

As soon as McNabb struggles fans will call for Vick to replace him.  (Yeah oh and did they mention that fans booed Santa one game?)

Vick is the quarterback for 2010 when McNabb's contract is up  (has anyone even seen the guy play yet?  Do we know if he is any good (not that I thought he was ALL THAT before)).

My favorite was the douchebag who was in for Colin on ESPN in the morning who said that anyone who roots for Vick supports what he did (so the other degenerates who work for that network and slober over Kobe Bryant support him raping a woman in Colorado).

I knew no matter who he signed with it'd be overboard but this is ridiculous...wait till he practices this weekend, plays in a few weeks, and gets the first time in a real game.  Philly is a circus again....

Feel free to add your own outrageous comments heard today....

T.O. Rips Romo

As if anyone was surprised that this would happen.  Here's the link from SI.  I hope you enjoy him Buffalo, can't say we didn't warn you  as we did Dallas and anyone else who will sign him in the future.

Link

Answering a fan who said he was unhappy that TO left Dallas, Owens replied.

"Neither ws i, blame the OC & romo!! but i'm happy 2 b where i am but i miss the other guys tht were & r true teammates!!

[Note by JasonB, 05/25/09 10:39 PM EDT ] I hope all the Dallas fans who thought things would be different when he became a Cowboy are enjoying their crow... And I hope all the Bills fans deluded enough to think the same are paying attention.

Even at 80% off Cowboys stuff can't sell

There's a sporting goods store near me that is going out of buisness.  It has been for a month now and it is in it's last few days of existence.  I went in today to take a look and there is STILL a rack of Romo jerseys (selling at around $30 each down from $75) plus some authentic jerseys available.  However, in the entire store there was ONE Philly item (a McNabb mini helmet I was happy to purchase).  I am sure the Cowboy fan will argue that there is more Cowboy crap flooding to market to begin wtih.  However, for a month there has been next to nothing Philly left despite the store carrying a decent, not great, but  decent amount of Philly stuff.  In the same amount of time Cowboy stuff remains.  Philly sells out when they are NOT on sale while Cowboy stuff saturates the market.

Is ESPN useful at all anymore?

I'm sitting here with it on in the background as I help my son with homework and they are pimping a Yankees/Red Sox match up as if it is the World Series.  The pimp the Cowboys as if they are God's gift to the sport.  I hate golf and all I hear Tiger, Tiger, Tiger when there is a tournament on.  If TO so much as bleches they cover it is if it is news.  When Tom Brady returns next year they are going to pleasure themselves to no end over it.  Yeah, it shoudln't even be on for background noise so I am part of the problem but am I missing something it is good for?

Don't even get me started on their "analysts" or "announcers".  Easily the worst and full of their own bias.

Who has been your favorite non high profile player?

Here's what I mean.  As a fan we know the players better than most.  So, it's easy to say, "I love McNabb" or Westbrook, or Dawkins.  It's even easy to go back and talk about your love for Reggie White or Randall Cunningham.  Sure we love them but they are known to everyone.  Who is that player that is or was your guy but never got the play from the media.

Living in So Cal I never got enough Fred Barnett from back in the day.  I loved him.  He always seemed to make a big play when they got national attention and I was able to see a game.  Even my brother, the big Cowboy fan hated him because Barnett always seemed to be in the right place at the right time.  I was crushed when he was injured and never the same guy and shipped to Miami.  His 95 yard TD from Cunningham is legendary in my eyes.

So, who's your guy?

How do you think Dawk feels now?

Now that Cutler and any playoff chance was just traded away how do you think he feels about signing.  He had to of signed with Denver understanding that this was the last team he would be with that had even an outside shot of getting him the elusive SB ring.  Now even that long shot has disappeared.  I can't imagine he's happy.  Now i just have to type more so that this can be posted as a fan post and I won't back down for a fanshot.  Now I'm done, tell me what you think about my original point.

Am I the only Eagles fan who...

Who has absolutly no desire to watch the Super Bowl?

It isn't that I don't care about either team.  Last year I despised both teams but was eager to watch with a friend.

I think it was the experience of being at the NFC Championship game and being abused for the entire two mile walk back to my car by ignorant and bandwagon jumping Cardinal fans.  In fact, sitting in my seat before the game started I texted my wife and some good friends that I was feeling a comfortable victory (I NEVER feel the Eagles are going to win NEVER!!)  I still don't like looking at my pics or watching any video I took.  There was no way we were going to lose to the Cardinals, NO WAY!!

So, if I didn't have two friends asking me to go to their Super Bowl parties I think I would slip in a dvd and watch movies all day rather than watch.
