Stumptown Footy What's your ideal lineup?

Thought since the only thing we really have at this point is to stop reminiscing on the last game and look forward to how we could best fix things, we could share some lineups that might work out better. Are these any that Spencer would actually use? Probably not. Especially because his captain, o captain, isn't in a lot of them but I thought it would be fun to share and play around. ...

Stumptown Footy Sounders acquire Eddie Johnson from the Impact for Lamar Neagle and Mike Fucito

Roughly an hour later, Johnson was on his way to the Pacific Northwest, as the Seattle Sounders sent Lamar Neagle and Mike Fucito to Montreal in exchange for the 27-year-old striker, who spent the past four years bouncing from club to club after Fulham brought him across the Atlantic in January 2008.

Johnson, who scored 41 goals in 127 appearances during a seven-year stint in MLS with Dallas and Kansas City, will join a Seattle squad that has spent the past few seasons searching for a consistent partner for Colombian forward Fredy Montero.

The rest of Cascadia laughs. This is rich! Seattle just gutted their biggest strength (depth in midfield) with this move. What do you guys think?

As a member of our waiting list we would like to thank you for your continued interest and support of the Portland Timbers. For the upcoming 2012 season we would like to offer you some exclusive benefits:

- Access to a pre-sale for individual tickets for the 2012 season

- Fan Loyalty Program – discounts at area businesses   Questions? Please contact the Timbers Ticket Sales office at 503.553.5555 orticketsales@portlandtimbers.com

Here's hoping the ST holders are legit and not a bunch of scalpers looking to cash in, and seriously, wow. I'm in the low 2000s/early 3000s so that's pretty insane. They need  to build a bigger House of Pane.

Acme Packing Company Aaron Rodgers Taking More Chances: Good/Bad?

104033198_display_image_medium

While I was watching our beloved quarterback throw a game-sealing pick for the opposing team, I cringed.

You and I, we're Packer fans. We've seen this before. We've been the laughing stock of it before, just as we joined in pointing and laughing on Monday night as we watched the same guy who had done that to us several times do that once again to our archrivals from the west.

And yet, all I could think about after this incredibly disappointing loss-disappointing on so many levels, but in particular this one thing- is an article I read back in late August, while everyone's hopes for the season still ran high, when half the team wasn't injured yet, and when every "expert" out there was picking us to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl.

Acme Packing Company What's up with Will Blackmon?

Nfl-packers-blackmon-will-27-home-2008-stockpic3_medium

via www.dholmes.com

I follow a lot of Packers religiously on the twittersphere and one of the guys I've been interested in keeping up on is our old friend Will Blackmon. You may remember him. Often injured, seemed to have a decent preseason, tied for the franchise record with Desmond Howard in kick return TDs, was completely blindsided by his release in the 53 man cutdowns.

This much is obvious: We're hurting. Badly. We need help on defense, offense, you name it. This is a bad time to be using Jordy Nelson at kick return and Tramon Williams at punt return when Jermichael Finley and Morgan Burnett are out for extended time. Wouldn't it be nice if we had a guy who could back-up at safety and return kicks?

As some of you may or may not know, Blackmon's injury settlement for the Packers means that he's currently a free agent and although he may not sign with the Packers until Week 9, he's been hinting at a return for a bit. To what team is a bit cryptic at the moment. More after the jump..
