The Final Dirty Thirty...
Inspired by the workout scrap pile I thought I’d start my own journal on the adventure of losing my last 30 odd lbs. Why? Well I had thought about doing this before on T-nation but the folks over there are a little too serious about what they do in the gym for my tastes. In any case putting it out there in the public space seems I good idea to me to keep honest.
So a little about me: I’m a grad student in one of the sciences not related to the human body. I graduated college pushing 260 lbs. I lost 30 lbs of that by doinking around with NROL and then lost whatever else I lost with Cosgrove’s Afterburn program. Since then I’ve been in the 210 – 220 lbs range, have had a healthy dose of program ADD, and have neither been motivated enough to lose the rest nor been completely satisfied with my current weight. This has been going on for about 3 years now – so at least I’ve gotten pretty good at maintaining my current weight.
I have several motivations for finishing the job.
- I’m sick of making that New Year’s Resolution—being part of that statistic—having that unfinished business—etc.
- I’m gettin hitched in October, and while even fat guys look good in a well fitting tux, I wouldn’t mind looking good on the beach during the honeymoon.
- I’d like to buy clothes from someplace other than Goodwill—I have trouble spending real money on clothes that won’t fit when I get around to loosing the rest—as I’ve said this has been going on for 3 years now.
- I plan on outliving everyone that’s dear to me and then dying very old and very lonely –but-- as the ultimate winner.
How do I plan on maintaining this thread? I dunno I may forget about by Wednesday—this is an experiment in doing rather than planning.
