Q & A with KJ from fangraphs
The $ quote-
DL: You were originally with the Atlanta Braves. Coming up through their system, was a specific hitting philosophy espoused, or did they mostly let guys be themselves?
KJ: There was no philosophy, that I [saw]. I felt like it was more, for them, either you can do it or you can’t
Sounds like a great approach by TP.

Nate had surgery out 6 weeks
ajcbraves David O'Brien
#Braves McLouth underwent sports hernia surgery yesterday in Philly. expected recovery time is six weeks. Not ruling out return this season.
I didn't know it was bad enough for surgery. I do know that hernias can be tough to recover from though.
Fangraphs follow up on Venters
He is good at pitching baseballs.
How Talking Chop ranks in the Baseball Blog world
I saw this over at a great blog called Black Heart Gold Pants, Looks like Talking Chop is #10 in ALL baseball related blogs. We're behind 3 team blogs. 2 are from New York and I've never heard of them, but the 3rd team is the Twins. We are the only team to have 2 showings in the top ten as DOB is only one spot right above us... I'm calling it now, Gondeee is taking his job next season.
Fangraphs on Kimbrel and Venters
Watching the exploits of Atlanta’s dynamic duo – Jonny Venters and Craig Kimbrel – reminds me of another former 1-2 punch that was dominating during its time. Duane Ward and Tom Henke ruled high-leverage situations for the Toronto Blue Jays, and it was their success that helped the club win back-to-back World Series championships in 1992 and 1993.
Just forecasting dominance...not a big deal.

Yahoo on GSP and his weight cut
Should get up to 192 on fight night.
RSF in scouting the sally
I was a little surprised that Mike called RSF a poor athlete. But, I've never seen the kid so what do I know. Anyways, looking forward to more insight from Mike Newman over the course of the season, thanks Mike!
Also, am I the only one that thinks Right Said Fred when they see RSF in print?
Looks like Teheran will be okey-dokey
Some of us were freaked out by reports of an injury to our stud ace. DOB says he's going to live and that he's ready to see some action.
H/T Dave O'Brien
Heyward, Stanton, and 20 year-old studs
If you're like me, you'll read just about anything Braves related in the off season.

Our Amatuer Signing Bonuses
This was on mlbtraderumors.com, we're dead last in mlb. Does that mean we're spending our money wisely on more proven talent?
We're going streaking!
Big League Stew article on our ROY.
We moved up to #7 in the Power Rankings
SBN Blog: Talking Chop
2010 record: 7-5
Last week's rank: 8
He's clutch too! After the Braves were no-hit by Ubaldo Jimenez, Jason Heyward lifted fans spirits the following night with a walk-off single. No word on whether he'll also be replacing the injured Jo-Jo Reyes in the bullpen.
DOB Tweet
The window didn't break after a Heyward bomb?
So... I'm guessing the ball broke like an egg then?
Andruw Jones to the White Sox
I wish him the best of luck, enjoyed him as a Brave.
