I don't know if any of you are familiar with this blog, but it is very good. One of the contributors is Rick Karcher, a former minor league baseball player in the Braves system, and one of my former professors.

Over the years, the teams have won 58% of the cases (279-205). The last time that the players exceeded .500 was 1996 (players won 7 of 10 hearings).

Year - Cases Filed - Cases Settled - Number of Hearings

2005 - 89 - 86 - 3 (Teams won 2 out of the 3)
2006 - 100 - 94 - 6 (Teams won 4 out of the 6)
2007 - 106 - 99 - 7 (Teams won 4 out of the 7)
2008 - 110 - 102 - 8 (Teams won 6 out of the 8)

ugh. 75 word limit. eh, anyway, the fellas that run it seem like good peoples. even though they won't win, they have a chance to not finish last, and that would be nice.

i thought for sure i would have enough words by now, but nope. I am probably still a few short, we'll see. go rays. go brawlfense. go velociraptor jesuses and stuff.

Per Joe Smith (Heater)

The Rays have declined to pick up an option for DH Cliff Floyd and LHP Trever Miller for the 2009 season. Also, backup C Michel Hernandez as received an outright assignment to Triple-A Durham.

http://blogs.tampabay.com/rays/2008/11/rays-decline-op.html

---

I hope they find a way to bring Mills back. He is still pretty tough on lefties.

[Note by R.J. Anderson, 11/03/08 4:11 PM EST ] Bumped to FP, analysis to come later.

So what's it like when you run into people from other teams?

You get joked on a lot. I've had my share of jokes. That's why if we ever start winning and beating teams real bad and all the time, I won't feel sorry for nobody. I won't feel sorry for one player on the other side.
