I hadn't really seen anyone talk about Q's contract ending next year. Obviously, his future with the Hawks is safe, but this might be an interesting story line with how many years he gets. I know people only talk about coaching contracts when a team is underperforming, but I still think it's nice that Q's being rewarded before his contract is up.

I was going to be in the Raleigh area for Saturday's game, and I didn't know if there were any Raleigh area fans who wanted to grab a beer before the game. I know there's supposed to be some snow in the forecast, but if anyone else was going to be at that game, let me know and we can talk some hockey. Or at the very least, does anyone know anything to do around the RBC Center?

I don't know if anyone saw the report in The Sporting News today, but it looks like Columbus is the new Phoenix, bleeding $12 million a year. Part of the problem is that the arena only has the Jackets as a tenant. The other major problem is a lack of public funding. It will be interesting to see if we have a division rival in Hamilton sometime soon (sarcasm intended).
