I moved to Philo in 1970 and became an A's fan. I remember the sports illustrated cover that said "Vida Blue, Plumbing Executive." I attended Oakland games in the 72, 74, and 89 World Series. At one of the 72 games, Lefty Grove threw out the first pitch. I also saw Campaneris throw the bat in the 71 playoffs. The fastest pitcher I ever saw was Vida Blue in 1971. I also attended the A's returns to philly in 2003 and to wrigley in 2004.
