these trades rumors rae killing me lately. tex for salty, harrison, and andrus i do. laird and beniot for pie i do. gagne for kennedy i do.

lineup in 2009

C-salty
1st-Gold maybe? any other thoughts?
2nd-kinsler
3rd-blalock
ss-young
lf-byrd
cf-pie
rf-cruz,diaz

rotation
1-millwood, think that would be his last year
2-mccarthy
3-hurley, i think he'll be very good at this point
4-harrison, braves scouts think he is the best lefty to come around since glavine
5-loe, if he keeps up his performance he could be higher,

other options have to be guys like volquez, diamond, galarraga, mendoze(most likely in bullpen)

bullpen- frankie, wilson, littleton,maybe padilla

plus any FA's we sign which most likely wont be anything to big

Of course alot of things have to happen but i dont think any of the trades above are to much of a stretch...let me know your thoughts?

the question we've all be wondering. Who has the best package and will help us th emost in the future.

Let's look at the braves
Jo-Jo reyes, most likely a #3 or #4, could win between 10-15 games a year when pitching well and left-handed.
Salty could play either 1st or cathcer, hit somewhere between .280 to .300 and in our ballpark hit somewhere between 25 to 30 home runs.
Now Elvis Andrus, a guy who could be the next Jose Reyes or at worst i've heard he is a great utility guy(hopefully better than JHJ)

Now for the red sox
I think its pretty unlikely will get Buchholtz, so that leaves Jon lester. i think he will be better than Reyes. I think a staff with him and Mcarthy, Loe, and Hurley could be prety nice.
Now this is where the red sox could definitly get Tex if they wanted to. I doubt we could get both Lester and Ellsbury, but if we did i say lets pull the trigger.
Some players I'd be intrigued with our brandon Moss, guys like Gabbard, and Bowden. I was looking at their lower level gusy like Daniel Bard and Bubba Bell, his numbers are pretty impressive but obviously we would want some major league ready players...let me know your thoughts and who could package the best deal together and who you think eventually will

Luis Mendoza

When it comes to the Frisco pitching staff, Armando Galarraga gets all the attention. I was checking what our farm teams did and noticed that Luis Mendoza is now 11-1. Not a great era in around 4.14, but if you look at their lines for the year, it's almost identical. I've never really heard of this guy, don't know his age or anything about him. Wondering if anybody else has noticed his success and might know how old he is and what kind of potential this guy might have and maybe he falls into a late rotation type guy or middle reliever...just wondering your thoughts

poveda throwing a no hitter

omar poveda is throwing a no hitter for clinton today into the 6th inning. seems like everyone thinks this guys potential is only as a reliever or a #3 or 4 starter. but today he is kicking some ass. guys like poveda, phillips, and kiker look good at clinton this year. hopeuflly they can turn into some major league quality pitchers, plus correct me if im wrong there all pretty young. i think poveda is only 20 and kiker is 19 for sure. dont know how old phillips is but he cant be to old. those guys with whittleman, teagarden and some of our other young prospects llooks pretty good

we all talk about trade rumors and who might or might not go. but who do you think should go, guys we could deal for young prospects that would help us in a couple years.
I think guys we could deal are of course Tex, Loften, and Aki. Im starting to come around on maybe signing gagne to a longer deal. Not that i think we shoudl do this but what about Cat, hitting up around .230 and got 2 years left maybe if he stays hot and gets up around .250 or .260 do you tink anybody would make a call for him?
