Max Pacioretty's reaction
With all the discussion on the hit from last night, it seems pertinent to get Max's thoughts.

The Final Countdown
Well, we're coming down into the final stretch of the season and hopefully the playoffs. After a considerable amount of discussion last night, I thought I'd throw down a few thoughts on the coaching and players by position. Bear in mind that I'm not a major stats guru; this breakdown is largely based on observations from the last few games and throughout the season.
At this point, I figure we all have a number of thoughts on the team, so please throw down any thoughts or criticisms you have of this little pre-playoff breakdown after the jump.

Goodbye Dagger
It looks like another former Habs prospect is on the move.
TSN has announced that Matt D'Agostini was traded to the St. Louis Blues for prospect Aaron Palushaj. After the jump, there's a short breakdown on the deal.
Canadien Olympians: Tomas Plekanec and Jaroslav Halak
The following is part 3 of a series profiling Montreal's Olympians. Today's final installment is Tomas Plekanec of the Czech Republic, and Jaroslav Halak of Team Slovakia.
Games between Slovakia and the Czech Republic are hotly contested affairs, and today's has an interesting subplot: goaltender Jaroslav Halak of Slovakia will be facing down Habs teammate Tomas Plekanec of the Czech Republic.
After the jump, a breakdown of why both Jaro and Plek have a good chance of winning Olympic bragging rights.
Canadien Olympians: Andrei and Sergei Kostitsyn of Belarus
The following is part 2 of a series profiling Montreal's Olympians. Today's first installment is Andrei Markov of Team Russia, and Yannick Weber of Team Switzerland.
Along with fellow NHLer Ruslan Salei, Sergei Kostitsyn will be expected to lead a fledgling Belarus team against some seasoned opposition in Group C. Sadly, Andrei has been forced to pull out due to his lingering knee injury. Another Belarussian, Mikhail Grabovski, was named to the team, but is out with a wrist injury.
Both brothers have had experience on the big stage in the NHL, though last year's playoffs were probably an experience to forget. However, in the 2008 opening round series against the Boston Bruins, both Andrei and Sergei looked at home in pressure packed games. The pressure will certainly be on again, as if Sergei is unable to put the puck in the net, Belarus does not have a hope of advancement to the quarterfinals.
Canadien Olympians: Yannick Weber and Andrei Markov
The following is part 1 of a series profiling Montreal's Olympians. Today is Andrei Markov of Team Russia, and Yannick Weber of Team Switzerland.
Andrei Markov and Yannick Weber will be taking to the ice today for their respective countries with very different goals in mind. Weber will be looking to help an up and coming Swiss program make a mark in Vancouver. Markov, on the other hand, will be quarterbacking a Russian team which is not only a contender for the gold, but is one of the expected favourites to win it all.
A Trade Habs Fans Will Never Forget
This weekend, the Habs will be playing a crucial two game series against the Philadelphia Flyers, with playoff aspirations on the line. They should be rousing contests, pitting two desperate teams with a long history of animosity against each other
However, I feel that the Flyers still owe us one. Or three.
The reason I say this is that much of the Flyers' success over the past 15 years has been courtesy of two trades which decimated our squad, and directly led to the demise of two former general managers. And it involved three great players who at one time, could have formed a new era in Montreal Canadiens history.
