Mr. Dalton
Is legit, poised and collected when needed most. Amazingly on target within 25-30 yards. there is the concern of his inability to throw the long ball. Unlike an un-named qb in Oakland who could bomb the ball 40+ yards on target Dalton misses that ability. A perfect example was his 30+ yard completion with A.J. yesterday. Green made a great adjustment to get the ball but had a solid step on Haden but the ball was terribly under-thrown. If that pass was lead properly and hit in stride it would have been a TD.
There are so many scenarios that we could discuss where the ball was under-thrown or way off when we are looking at throwing the ball deep.
Does anyone think that this is something that Andy can improve on? I would like to hear Ken Zampese’s opinion on this. If he thinks with strength training Andy will have better arm strength to make those 40+ yard throws on target.
Most importantly there is no complaining about Dalton. He has been amazing & has shown his ability to win, just taking a 50,000 foot view here and evaluating if he is our quarterback for the next 7+ years.
2010 Cincy Opponents
Cincinnati Bengals
Home: Baltimore, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Buffalo, Miami, New Orleans, Tampa Bay, San Diego
Away: Baltimore, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, New England, N.Y. Jets, Atlanta, Carolina, Indianapolis
Who knows what 2010 brings... we better bring our A game...
Away: New England, Jets & Indy
Home: Miami, New Orleans & SD
This is on top of the AFC N, Pitt & Baltimore.... would you say toughest schedule in the league? Where do we focus on the off season. #1 focus in my mind is to keep Zimmer, things to look for next :
- Deep threat receiver (Coles - low production & dropped balls & Simpson zero production; not much of a chance)
- Safety? (Roy seems to be slipping, Ndukwe is good, but no pro-bowler & I think we all saw what Nelson is worth the last few games.. right now I think Crocker is our strongest safety...
- O-Line? - As great as the O-line has been this year we have lacked solid pass blocking, not giving Carson enough time for check - downs...
I know this is quite sometime away... can't wait for this weekends game vs. the Jets and the rest of the playoffs....
Who Dey
WOW 7.5 Underdog
The Bengals are a 7.5 point underdog to the Steelers at Heinz field this Sunday. With Cincinnati already sweeping Baltimore & at 4-0 in the AFCN, you would think we would get a little bit more credit; not that we haven't been underdogs all season but wow 7.5 really??
Good news is we are perfect on the road at 3-0; on the other side the Steelers are perfect at home 4-0; this will make the match up just that much greater. Starting in 2001 the Bengals have been 3 - 5 at Heinz field time to improve that record...
It seem like every week I find myself saying "this is the most important game of the season" which every game is important but I believe if we pull off a W in Shitsburgh we will not only crush the AFCN but strengthen our changes in going late into the playoffs.
We have had some bad injuries this year but it just shows the strength of our team & depth that we can come together and pull off key wins on the road or at home.
I live in San Fran & can't wait to see the Bengals live in Oakland then flying to see them in SD; here is to a huge Sunday coming up...
