Peter Forsberg is like that one booty call you have that you can never really rely on. You guys had some great, and I mean GREAT, years together. Unbelievable. Some would argue the best girl you had during your glory years. But then she got too big for her own head, too unreliable when you needed her, and frankly you had bigger fish to sign- er fry. She moved on, a couple of non-threats, that asshole from Philly.  Last you heard she was in Sweden, living out her dream. You felt good, you were happy to see her happy. That all you ever wanted for her.

Yet, just when you thought you'd never hear from her again, she calls you, let's you know she's back in town. "Let's grab a drink, just like old times," she says. "Just like old times," you tell yourself as you put on your best smile, iron your lucky shirt and wait by the phone Friday night like a cancer patient awaiting test results. Come Monday morning though you wake up alone, the smell of cigarettes and light beer on your tongue.

That was five years ago.

It seems as though right when the winter gets cold enough, right when you think that's the last good snow of the season, she calls. "We've been here before," you say to yourself. You let it go to voicemail. You go about your day. However, your plans this weekend fall through. Pulminorary Emboli? Yeah sure, just say you don't want to see The King's Speech with me, don't lie to me. You glance at your phone. That voice mail sign lingering. "What the hell maybe she's changed. Maybe I've changed," you say as you dial your password. You hear her voice, just like you did when you first met, back in 1995. The rush is too much. The promises, you know she can't live up to them. Not anymore, not with those ankles. Still, you call her back. You know the game. And you love it.

 
Well Peter, there's beer in the fridge, I've got a fresh pack of 27's, and my phone is charged. Here's to Monday morning, guys.

So I just got the new NHL game from EA sports, and when you select the Av's as your team, there are the jersey options and there is an alternate jersey but it is blacked out. Last year they had that for certain teams (minnesota, atlanta, edmonton) and around november they released a code that unlocked those jerseys. My thinking is that that means A) they will release a code for the jersey and B) (more excitingly) the Av's have plans for a third jersey this year. Does anyone else know anything about this? I figured I would have saw something here first and not in a video game.
