Mapping the Bracket

I like to look at/make maps, and I thought that this would be a cool time to make a map of the teams in the NCAA tournament. Well, last week would have been a good time to make that map, but better late than never.

Football Suspensions for Three

Kraig Appleton (WR), Shelby Harris (DE), and Nick Hill (LB) have been suspended indefinitely by Coach Bielema for a "violation of team rules."
I heard this on the radio on my drive to work this morning, and Tom Mulhern confirmed it on madison.com today. Hopefully whatever violation they committed isn't something that is serious enough to warrant dismissal - Appleton could be a valuable wide receiver next year, and the team certainly needs defensive line depth. Disappointing news.
Nolen out for the Gophers
The Star-Tribune is reporting that Al Nolen will miss the second half of the season due to academic troubles - is every Big 10 team going to lose a top player for one reason or another this season?

With all the recent attention given to the possibility of the Big Ten expanding its membership, I thought it would be interesting to visualize the various new landscapes of a 12 (or more?) -team Big 10.
