OC Option
SInce its apparent Henning isn't returning with the Dolphins, who are some legit Offensive Coordinator options besides McDaniels?? I really believe Kubiak will be heavily pursued if he loses his job in Houston but with the Wade Phillips rumours it looks like he is staying put for at least another year. Does anyone know some college coaches or OCs that might be targeted? And Who are some other available options at the NFL level?
Derek and Dez
Like father like son. In my canadian die hard miami dolphins fan opinion i feel like signing Derek Mason to a small deal for a few seasons could be the defining moment of our off season, now let me explain. Karlos Dansby is HUGE for our defense, but our offense still needs a major adjustment. IF Dez Bryant is available with the 12 pick (he should be there as the latest buzz around the league is that Dez might slip past pick 15) I hope that the front office would highly consider making this selection. It is no surprise that Dez is, and will be the playmaker that we need in our offense, and this move could drastically change our success in the league. He has all the intagibles to make the clutch and big time catches we need, a la LArry Fitzgerald? I mean making the comparsion to Larry is one thing, and making it actually happen on the gridiron is something totally different, but his kids videos give me chills. He makes all the big catches, and doesnt shy away for gettting hit. I am really exciting to hear how he runs and preforms at his Pro day, and we all now there will be a phins scout there. The red flag that surrounds him are the characters issues. Sure this is very important, but the right guidance when they get into the league is so KEY! Now where the veteran ties in, Derek Mason could be the mentor that Dez never had throughout life. He had such a tough upbringing, maybe he just needs the father figure? He also could be a huge asset to our young receiving core, providing leadership and guidance. He also could show Dez the ropes, so he gets comfortable with his role as the teams number 1. He still even has some gas in the tank to make some clutch catches for Chad. A playmaker is so important in the league now, and i dont need to tell everyone that because we all know, everyone also knows that WE need that playermaker. If we give his kid a chance, with the right leadership he will be a pro bowler, and hopefully in the teal and orange..what do you think?

Joe Haden and Sean Smith
I read something really intriguing this morning on walter football. Walt updating his new mock draft and it still has us taking Rolando at pick 12, but he finally came up with some other draft choses for the Dolphins; those being CB Joe Haden and DE JPP. This was quite interesting because i don't think this will actually happen, but Walter mentioned the possibility of Vontae and Joe Haden at corner (Which is even better than what we had this year with young potential as Haden is commonly compared to Revis and in my opinion is better than Vontae was this time last year), and then letting Sean Smith to move back to Safety..I wonder if this has been talked about by the FO and if there is even a possibility of this happening, he definitely has the size, and is the switch that difficult? Before you all start ripping at me about being an idiot, think about it. Could it happen? It could. What do you guys think? Im sure someone will know a little more about this than i, so enlighten me.
Q for Peezy?
As many of us know, the Arizona Cardinals have shown some interest in trading for Joey Porter, with our need at WR could this not be a dream come true for us? Although Anquan Boldin is 30 and has been pestered by injuries over the past few season, I still see him holding some solid value for us. Porter has well is appealing to the Cards. They need some help at the OLB position and Porter could be an udgrade? So is it just me, or does anyone else think with the recent Parcell news about his interest in a WR, and even a veteran WR, the Porter demands that the trifecta is mulling over and discussing a possible swap? I think it could be done. What about you?
Mike Williams
This guy can flat out play football. He was the face of Syracuse football and was on pace to break all receiver records at SU. Aside from all the hype regarding his academic suspensions and the speculations behind him actually quitting his team at Syracuse, this guy has the game to be the exact type of wideout we need in Miami, and he may even come out of the fourth round, but has the legit talent to be a 2nd round pick. He off the field problems are what killed him but he definitely has the prototypical blend of size, speed and hands for the position.
Here is the analysis I pulled from www.NFLdraftscout.com
Mike Willams WR #1 Syracuse Orange
6’2” 206
Release: Shows good initial quickness out of his stance. Has active hands and good lateral agility to minimize the effectiveness of the jam. Has the straight-line speed to challenge deep. Shows good body control to change direction as a route-runner despite his long frame.
Hands: Secure hands to catch the ball in traffic. Protects the ball against his chest and can take the big hit over the middle and hang on to the ball. Good extension outside of his frame and body control to adjust to the poorly thrown ball. Times his leap well and catches the ball at its highest point. Good fade target in the red zone. Battles for the ball with good flexibility and the hand-eye coordination to track passes over either shoulder.
Route running: Good straight-line speed to challenge deep. Smooth acceleration and can throttle down, sink his hips and create separation out of his cuts with an explosive first step. Precise cut for the slant and square-in. Can stick his foot in the ground and leave the defensive back scrambling. Presents a large target for the quarterback.
After the catch: Big-play threat after the catch. Strong runner who fights through arm tackles. Has some lateral agility to elude. Good acceleration after the catch and can pull away. Good vision to set up blocks.
He was suspended for the entire 2008 season for speculations of cheating, and failing to obey the athletic academic policy. He came back in 09’ with more great numbers, but chose to leave Syracuse for reasons regarding a car accident with teammates and instead of being suspended again, he just choose to leave. Now this guy definitely has some character issues, but these are the type of guys that get under Parcells and Sparano and shine, he plays like a man on the field, has all the intangibles to be want me want to see and want he need at the WR position. Watch this highlight video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SlFFS-KfMho
What you think?
Options for Draft, WR needs.
I'm okay with us not bringing in Brandon Marshall, Vincent Jackson, Antonio Bryant. Im also okay us with using passing on Dez Bryant at 12 to pick Rolando McClain. This is guy would be such a key upgrade for our defence, think about that buzz Patrick Willis creates San Fran defense? This guy is compared to Willis, and the Dolphins need a horse type hard nosed player like McClain. He hits hard, will be immediate help and has a great football IQ, not to mention that he is a perfect fit in the 3-4 at ILB. This 1st rounder selection will make alot of us happy.
WR is one position that also needs to obviously upgraded and i feel like this draft can only help us. Alot of players catch my eye in the next 4 rounds and all have the potential to be great complimentary players and some even the number 1 guy we need (yes in the 3rd and 4th rounds). Here are just a few a really like:
Brandon LaFell - 6'3'' 205 - LSU (2 rounder)
Demaryius Thomas - 6' 3" 230- Georgia Tech - (2-3 round selection)
Dezmon Briscoe - 6'3" 205 - Kansas (2-3 Round selection)
Mike Williams - 6'2" 205 - Syracuse - (3-4 Round selection)** (My Steal)
Dexter McCluster - 5' 8" 165 - Ole Miss (3-4 round Selection) ****(Have read that Sparano loves this guy at the Senior Bowl) (Also could be a game changer at RB) ** (favourite pick)
Marcus Easely - 6'2" 210 - UConn - (5-6 Round Selection) (sub 4.4 40 time) (velcro hands)
Let me know what you guys think!!!
