WEC Welterweight Champ Carlos Condit to Fight at UFN18

The folks at Five Ounces of Pain have an exciting report up, about the future of exciting WEC welterweight champ, Carlos Condit (read the full scoop at the link above):

Instead of finding a new opponent for Condit, sources have informed FiveOuncesOfPain.com that Zuffaofficials have decided to transfer Condit to the UFC’s welterweight division. Additionally, Condit’s Octagon debut could take place in a televised bout during UFC Fight Night 18 on April 1 against Martin Kampmann.

It appears that Brock Larson has had to pull out of a proposed title fight with "The Natural Born Killer", and rather than find a replacement, Condit has been transitioned over to the UFC instead. I for one, am excited to see how Condit fares against the UFC crew. Say what you will about the talent pool in the WEC's lightweight, and welterweight classes... Condit is the real deal. Kampmann is certainly a tall order right off the bat. Should make for an exciting scrap. What say you?
