Gruden In Philadelphia

Former Philadelphia Eagle and Philadelphia native, Kyle Eckle, said the John Gruden is in Philadelphia right now. Obviously his presence means something. Could Andy Reid's job be on the line? Could John Gruden be the new head coach?

Did anyone else catch this last night?
The 20 year old, Matt Duchene had too much vodka last night apparently.
Me and my buddies thought it was hilarious

A good article on Kolb and his leadership. Nothing but good things being said about this guy. I have high hopes.

Nick Kypreos uses twitter to say that the talks between Nabokov and Philadelphia are no longer because Nabokov's asking price was too high. Although this does not help the Flyers, they are not out of the running to sign Nabokov when he hits the open market.

The Redskins traded the Saints, either their 3rd or 4th round pick in the draft (which ever one Philadelphia does not get) for OT Jammal Brown.

Looks like the Redskins are trying to solidify their O-Line, but it is certainly coming at a cost. They will not have a 3rd or a 4th round pick in next years draft.

One moment in Sheldon Browns career i will never forget...

And here is what he had to say about it
"He was lucky. His elbow was pinned against his body, protecting his rib cage, or else I probably would have broken his rib. What did it feel like? That collision, I didn’t feel nothing, because he was pretty much defenseless. It was like running through a cardboard box. Seriously. Cardboard box."

Bleeding Green Nation McNabb Trade Rumors vs Farve Retirement

Alright so as most of you, I am sick and tired of hearing about the McNabb trade rumors or who the Eagles should start.

It is comparable to how bad the "is Farve going to retire?" news last off season (and perhaps later this offseason).

In the end, our opinions and what not mean nothing (unless the FO reads this site and bases their decisions on it). It is up to the FO and that is that. I would thoroughly enjoy not hearing anything about McNabb being traded or who should be the starting QB until something actually happens.

ESPN reports Reid and co. open to idea of trading 5

According to ESPN this morning: At the NFC coaches meeting, Reid changed his stance that McNabb is his quarterback next year. The Eagles organization are debating the possibility of trading all 3 QBs (so they are open to proposals from other teams), although they will most likely not trade Kolb. There is a link, but I do not pay for ESPN insider

......In about the year 2021

absolutely insane how much national attention this kid is getting at 13 years old.

One of the feel good stories of this week has definitely been the return of Myron Rolle to football. Rolle has come back fresh and played as well as any safety in Mobile this week. While Mays has been receiving much of the attention, Rolle seems to have better hips, more quickness, and better overall fluidity, all even more impressive considering his size. Maybe he picked up a soccer ball over his time in England, but whatever he’s done to prepare for this week, Rolle has done a fine job and deserves to be drafted in the high middle rounds.

As I posted on here a while back, the NY Giants rb, Brandon Jacobs, predicted that the Giants would win 13 games and make the post season. So as of now they will not win 13 games, and hopefully will not make the playoffs if all goes to plan. This is awesome, just thought I'd give people a quick little reminder.

Couple thoughts about the game

Alright, so I was fortunate enough to be able to go to the game today. I had a couple of thoughts on the Eagles after this game: 1. Why could the Eagles could not stop the 49ers on 4th down? 2. How come they were able to stop them on 3rd down (0-11) 3. Snowball fights in the linc are awesome! 4. I saw Vick go out from the tunnel injured early in the game, is he alright/does it affect the game plan at all? 5. Assante still needs to learn how to tackle, but was a little better. 6. McNabb was pretty inconsistent today, hopefully it was just an off day because of the weather, because he has been good recently (and I am not a McNabb supporter)

Ruben's obsession with old players?

Why has Ruben consistently brought back old players? He started with Ibanez, and now I feel like he is only bringing back players or looking at other potential players to sign that are old. For the most part good but definitely starting to decline in their performance. Why does he keep on doing this?

Unfortunate Prediction

I have a pretty good feeling that the front office is not going to bring back McNabb after this year if the Eagles do not make the playoffs and/or win the superbowl. The front office is gaining more and more faith in Kolb after his 2 starts this season and might see what he has next season. And although its not the exact same context, I believe that McNabb will "pull a Farve" and eventually end up on the Redskins. This might be absolutely ridiculous, but I have a funny feeling about it.

As for all of us who were very high on Brandon Gibson, he has had his first productive NFL game. He made 7 catches for 93 yards for the Rams, who were playing the Saints. I still wish Eagles could have found a way to keep him, even though they have a plethora of wide receivers as it is.

Thanks Bleeding Green Nation

I joined Bleeding Green Nation about 8 months ago, and I only have good things to say. I visit this site multiple times a day. And even though I might not write a many FanPosts or FanShots, this is the absolute best place for any Eagles news and educated opinions, located in one convenient place. Basically I'm just saying thank you to everybody who makes this site what it is.

Bleeding Green Nation Brandon Jacobs Predict Giants Win At Least 13

Brandon Jacobs said on ESPN 1050 radio that the Giants will win at least 13 games this season. I guess he has confidence that Eli can actually throw the ball to somebody who is not 6'6 with impeccable hands. Personally I think that the Giants have a pretty good team, but not a good quarter back and no true no. 1 receiver no that Plaxico shot himself in the leg (which is awesome). And now that it is Jacobs time to carry their running game, I don't think that he will last. He is going to get beat up, big time. He tends to run into guys and is not elusive at all. And with some high flying acrobatics that I started to see him do last season, I feel like his knees will get taken out quickly if he continues that. What are your guys thoughts?

The Good Phight Coste vs Marson

I love Ruiz, but unfortunately he is on the DL right now. The phils have been alternating between Coste and Marson since Ruiz has been out. I used to love Coste, I considered him a decent backup catcher, but to be honest, he has been garbage this year. Marson has had a OBP-SLG-AVG, at .350-.294-.235 (compared to costes .267-.275-.175). Statistically he is better at bat, and him and Coste have made similar misplays. But Coste is getting older by the day, and is not getting better. I'd rather put Marson in there (whose in his low 20's), get him some more experience in the big leagues and let him contribute to the World Phuckin Champs while Ruiz is waiting to come back.
