Graz on ESPN
ESPN has a video of the Philadelphia Soul starting training camp. Yeah, I know, it's arena football which is barely football.
The QB for the team is Tony Graziani, which most of you on this blog already know. Early in the video they are talking to some of the veterans and there's Graz sporting a gray Oregon pullover. Nice to see him proudly wearing his Duck gear for ESPN.
Sure, the topic is lame but we've got a long way to go for even spring ball.
Are you freaking kidding me???
No invite for Dennis??? You can't be serious!!!
Sure, he wasn't going to win the Heisman, but in three weeks his stats go from making him the leading candidate to not even worthy of the invitation for his work this year?
I guess the Heisman voters don't like players who get hurt. That's the only reason Dennis and Pat White don't get invites.
Not to bash Colt Brennan, but who exactly did he put his numbers up against?? He gets the invite and White and Dixon get zip.
This is just a joke.
Pac 10 screwed again
Once again, the Pac-10 is treated as the red-haired stepchild. Not that I expected USC to climb into the title game, but I definitely thought that ASU would get an invite to the Fiesta. Maybe Hawaii took the at large that ASU would have gotten, but still, Illinois at 9-3 gets into the BCS and a good 10-2 ASU team goes to the Holiday??
That is absolutely a joke. Sure Illinois has a big win against an overrated OSU team. Who else did they beat??? ASU's losses were to USC (getting much stronger at that point) and Oregon when we were arguably the best team in the country.
Maybe our joke of a commissioner will grow a pair and feel the annual slap in the face the conference gets this time of year from the eastern based poll voters who influence the BCS decisions.
Either create a playoff or go back to the old bowl alignment because the current system doesn't get us the true national champion, just the matchup the eastern TV execs and sportswriters want.
Suddenly a late season loss doesn't mean anything???? If that's the case, Kansas should be in before LSU since they only have one loss. I agree that conference chanpions should be rewarded, but there is nothing in the BCS selection criteria stating that and they still get a BCS bowl game for winning the conference. LSU argues that their losses were in overtime...who gives a crap, you lost twice, end of argument. Sure, Kansas didn't play anyone until Mizzou, then lost. OSU didn't play anybody either, including Michigan, yet they got in. Oklahoma won the conference and got the automatic BCS bid, but lost twice in the season. I'm no Kansas fan, but there is no logic to any of this.
I may be hypersensitive for the Pac-10, but when I saw that LSU was bounced up to the title game, I just about puked. USC has just as much right to be there as LSU, but the pollsters wanted to re-create the matchup they had two weeks ago. Give me Georgia or Kansas before LSU or just admit the whole BCS poll system is a complete joke.
