Ok, so we had a horrible turnout today - partially due to the absence of some regulars (Brett, John, Eric, Robert, and Matthew), the heat, and some late cancellations. I came back from Canada Late Saturday and was determined to get some exercise in and had a blast. So for all you lurkers and people on the fence, show up next Sunday and join us for a full squad game, with beer and food afterwards.

Who: LL crew

What: LL Softball

When: Sunday, 7/6, 1pm

Where: Seattle U. Softball Field on 12th and Cherry (if available, otherwise we'll go to the soccer field on 14th and Cherry)

Why: Because it's fun, and Bill will show up again, as usual!

PS...Bill actually started to pull the ball today (shock!) after reviewing his swings on film from the previous game and tweaking his mechanics. After all that Bill actually hit a Home Run over the fences!

Anyways, lets get some rec's and get a good size gathering so we can play another good game!

Roll Call - 16 + 2?

Starting

wwbaker3

LantermanC

Two Rs and Two Ls

Jaejo

Brett (+1)

Gomez (injury - game time decision)

Graham (+1)

Smegmalicious (+1)

Thingray + Jeanuts (injury - game time decision)

camomilk (+2)

Probable

johnbai?

Fin?

I looked around for rules for diary posts and couldn't find anything.

Anyways, as some of you may know I'm coming back to Seattle - on Saturday 2/2 (Brett's picking me up. Thanks bud!).

I'm looking to find a roommate, or roommates, in or around the downtown area. It would need to be near a busline, preferably a major one, as I'll be using it to commute to work in downtown or Bellevue.

Anybody looking to add another M's fan into their house or apartment? If you know someone looking please let me know also.

Looking for a place that's about $500-550/mo.

I'm back!

Well, not yet exactly, but I'll be going back to Seattle for the long haul next Tuesday, 2/5. When I left on 1/15 for Charlotte, I thought I was never going to come back Seattle. :(

The circumstances behind my departure is best left for a prime time drama like Grey's Anatomy or something (another Seattle reference), as it is too emotional and to long to discuss here.

Regardless, I was in Charlotte for half the time and at Myrtle Beach the other half. I was desperately seeking employment here, then I started throwing resumes for jobs in Seattle just for the hell of it - and a few companies actually bit!

The last week in Seattle before I left was extremely depressing (just ask Brett)...but this is a brand new opportunity as I've bought some time the last 2 weeks here in the Carolinas. I also got to see family I haven't seen in a few years, which is totally cool. However, being in the south for the last 2 weeks has taught me something - Seattle is awesome compared to the dirty south. The south has NO good looking chicks, seriously, I really looked - all of them are fat, extra fat, morbidly obesed, pizza-faced, or just downright ugly...I always had this idea of the existence of the "southern belle." Well, I guess they all moved up north.

I'm soooooo happy right now!!! See you all soon!

Does anyone have any idea how many people are on the Blue Pride wait list at this moment? I've been pondering whether or not to shell out $200 for 2 wait list spots. Further more, how long do you guys think it would take to secure my seats? 09? 10? etc?

Probably should've done this back in 03, but oh well...

btw, I'm looking to go the Wild Card round of the playoffs...anybody know when the tickets go on sale to the public?

Thanks

LL/FG Football - Recap

So, we had 6 players show up today:
Me - Team 1
Bretticus - Team 1
johnbai - Team 1
Matthew - Team 2
Katal - Team 2
Connor (screen name?) - Team 2

Final Score: Team 1 56 - Team 2 49 (play to 56)
Anyways, here are some highlights:

Since we only had 6 players, we had to improvise and play 3X3, but it actually turned out much better than I expected! While Team 1 went with a 3-man QB rotation and variety of roles, Team 2 used Connor as their QB and Matthew/Katal as WRs.

As johnbai said, if there ever was a MVP on a losing team, it would be Matthew. The dude was FAST, and caught 7 TDs with various deep routes and slants - blowing by Brett and I on too many occasions until we switched to a zone-3 defense late in the game with the game on the line. We played john shallow (bummed ankel), Brett intermediate, and me deep.

John was one hell of a QB, throwing 4 TDs to me (including the game winner). I threw for 1, and Brett threw for 1.

With the score 49-42, Team 2 leading and on the game winning drive, we used the zone-3 defense and I was able to get an INT around mid-field to prevent Team 2 for winning. Finishing with 2 INTs for my team.

I scored on a QB draw with some nice blocking by john and Brett to finish with 2 rushing TDs.

GW TD was a played in which we have had a lot of success with - shot gun snap to john, me running a flag route to the left sideline for the deep ball.

Early in the game, I did my best "Reggie Bush at USC against Fresno State - run at full speed with the ball, stop near the sideline and change direction up the the field with a juke, fooling the defender - play." Didn't score on that play, but it was a really fun juke. Since I don't know how to embed videos, here's the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xwS5x920i8A

The crazy laterals that john, Brett, and I used...

The fucking tree over our head that knocked down a few passes - the most valuable defender of the game!

Anyways, that's about it from my recollection...

Oh, and we went to Red Mill, which had burgers to die for. And a few of us also hobbled down to Blue Star for the SD-IND game and get some brewskis.

Serious, you guys should all try to come next time!

Good times! And for those of you that came - what were some of your favorite plays and moments? Katal, I'm looking forward to those pics! Thanks!
