Time to Panic, No. But.....
If you wait until it is time to panic to make your change, you end up like NJ last year. They fixed the ship and were the hottest team of the second half. But it was all too late to get them in to the post season. We have to make changes NOW. I don't just say that because we are 0 for 3 (pitty point for the OTL acknowledged here) but because of how we got to 0 for 3. They only exhibited hunger in one of the 3 games. This one should have been a desperation effort, but it wasn't. If there were some sign that pointed to this team being anything other than it's current record indicates, maybe I wouldn't be so ready to blow the whole thing up. As it stands, from what I have seen, this team as it is constructed and coached right now, isn't going anywhere. This is what we can expect. So .....
Chopper Harrison Story in the N&O and Puck Daddy
For those of you whose love of the club doesn't go back before our first run to the Cup, you may not be as familiar with Chopper Harrison, so I hope you will take the time to read this article http://www.newsobserver.com/2011/01/25/942402/canes-embrace-a-friend-in-need.html My comments after the jump.
So what is the deal with the depth chart at ch.com?
So I get that it takes a while to update things on the magical interweb, but when are they going to get on the ball and put up O Sullivan and Skinner? I want to see where they slot O Sullivan, in particular. At any rate, like everyone else I am too pumped about the return of hockey and seeing where this team is heading. The last time there was this much unfamiliarity with the club we were coming off a lockout.......
wizard gone to PHO
I'll probably get beat to the punch by quicker folks but Wizard to PHO for 2 yrs 6mil. I could have lived with that on our books. BOOOO PK and and BOOOOOO cash caps. Next year looks underwhelming so far.
Anyone else feel sad to see the wizard gone for such a reasonable term? He will always be one of my favorite personalities. I especially loved the where's Whitney bit before each game
Scenarios for how Mo could Go, and why none of them would work.
After last night's shoot out loss, a lot of folks here at Canes Country are left scratching their heads at the coaching staff. The decision to go with Captain Rod Brindamour in the 3 spot last night has been widely discussed, criticized, and even defended by some. Beyond that decision , however, there seems to be a lot of similarities between this team and other teams Maurice has unsuccesfully coached. The way the team plays to hold on to a lead or tie, instead of building on it, the lack of offensive creativity or rush, and let's not forget that Power Play impotence was a hallmark of ealier Mo coached Canes squads.
If the problem is largely behind the bench, though, how do we fix it, considering the fact we have a 3 year commitment to him, and still have Laviolette under contract as well. After the jump we will look at 3 possible solutions for "Life without Mo," and why all of them leave us in a bad situation.
Boychuck up
Hey I just saw from Facebook for the Canes that Boychuck is on his way up,
Ugggh 2 line Pass at Puck Daddy is up to his old tricks
So this 2 Line pass guy is up to his old tricks again, this time bashing Canes Country and Jussi Jokinen in the same post. It seems to me this guy has no clue what he is talking about, and just shoots from some uninfromed " Oh I think this is general opinion on the subject" perspective. You all need to check out his latest steaming pile of garbage and then tell me how a guy like this gets a job writing for one of the premier NHL blogs?

Bubba, Cory, my response was pitiful compared to what you guys are capable of. So with that in mind, I now patiently wait for you guys to demolish this guy.
Satan on Waivers
If JR is looking for depth on the wings, could Satan be a good option on re entry at half the coin? I know he hasn't exactly lit the world on fire in Pitts on Sids wing, and really has not been the same player since leaving Buffalo ( unremarkeable with NYI), but JR does seem to do well with these kind of players ( see Samsonov). Just a thought.....what do you all think? I think it could work.
