Live Chat at Noon PST With Ross Fletcher
Joshua Mayers and the Seattle Times are hosting a live chat with Ross Fletcher today. Feel free to ask him those things that're on your mind, like how hard Ozzie will shut down Messi in the Club World Cup finals.
MLSsoccer.com's Countdown to First Kick's article covering the Sounders
Great article written by NIck Firchau. I highly recommend giving it a read.

Return to Relevance -- UW ranked 25th in the first BCS poll
If this isn't a positive sign, I don't know what is. We are one of three PAC-12 teams ranked, with Stanford and Oregon coming in at 8th and 10th, respectively.
A Question/Poll For The Masses
It's fairly simple and all that's required is that you click two buttons. Sounds good, right? Great.
Who is your Sounders MVP at this point in the season?
Use any criteria that you choose. Stats, emotion, hive mind, chances to win in a fight to the death (ahem, Honey Badger), whatever. With no league matches for two whole freakin' weeks, this seemed as good of a time as any to float this out there.
My thoughts on Oregon football, in picture form.
James Paxton is Movin' On Up
Promoted to AA Jackson. Tony Butler is called up from Single-A Everett to fill the vacant spot.
Martin Breunig --> UW
About damn time we get a big man for this class.
Kavario Middleton - Dismissed From UW Roster
From Bob Condotta's twitter feed. More details upcoming on his Seattle Times blog.
Good-ish news
Jack Wilson is activated from the DL, Tui sent down to AAA, and Snell cleared waivers (shocking!!!) and has been outrighted to AAA.
OFFTOP 6/17/10: Movies and Such
I had a few things I was curious about that I felt could spark some interesting conversation amongst everyone as well as provide some knowledge for future movies to see/not see. On to the bullet points!!
What are:
- Movies that are on your radar that you're looking forward to seeing this or next year
- Best and/or worst movie remake you've seen
- Best and or worst movie sequels/prequels/whatever that you've seen
This year, I can't wait to see Inception. I've been looking forward to it for a long time and if it disappoints me in any way, oh man, I might be slightly sad. Next year, it's gotta be Captain America and The Hobbit, Part One. Even though Captain America won't be anything like I want it to be, I'm still going to go see it.
Best remake: 3:10 To Yuma. Love it.
Worst prequels: Star Wars. Hate it.
Also, I had my first foray into 'good' beer the other week with Chimay Grand Reserve and frickin' loved it. Any other suggestions?
Did We Expect Him to Be THIS Good?
A quick summary of Cliff Lee's season as told by The Man, The Myth, The Legend, Dave Cameron.
The One Trade I Wish We Could Take Back
Matt Thornton was one of my favorite pitchers when he was with the M's and I'm ecstatic that he is finally doing well. I just wish that his success could have happened here.
Yahoo article concerning Seattle, the pass rush, and the elephant
Interesting read. A few insightful comments and how Chris Clemons(!) might be used.
The Third Kit Is Out
Personally, I like it. Easy on the eyes? Perhaps not to some people. I'm guessing the same people that didn't like the Seahawks' alternate uniforms last year won't like these, but you can't please everyone. What're your thoughts?
Y! Fantasy Baseball League Openings
Several buddies and I started a Yahoo fantasy BB league last year and we happen to have some managers that decided not to register for this season. I'd like to offer those spots to my fellow LLer's.
Here's the specifics---
Mariners sign JESUS!!!!
Jesus Colome, that is. Signed to a minor league earlier this morning. Yawn.
It's final... hopefully.
Welcome to Seattle, Chone.
