Sweed Injures Achilles, Could be out for up to 12 months
Just read on the facebook page of steelers.com that Limas Sweed hopeful to help replace Santonio Holmes has injured has achilles and could be out to up 12 months. Feel really bad for the guy, his last chance with the black n gold and he does this....During MINICAMP?!?! Dissapoints me because i actually thought he was going to put on a show this year and prove to us why he was a Star at Texas and was worth a 2nd round pick.

Polamalu Uncertain of 09 Return

Well terrible news, without Troy i think there is no hope of this team making the playoffs, we sure will need him to beat a great Passing greenbay team and against Miami/Baltimore.
This hurts a lot, i just dont think Troy's going to be back this season, especially in the position this team is in and the games remaining. I just hope this injury isn't worst than first reported because if a strained PCL would force him to miss a full 6 weeks, i think its gotta be something a little worse, and i hope it doesn't affect his offseason training/Training Camp- Pre-season.
Needless to say, this team isn't going anywhere without Troy, and if this story is legit we are screwed.
Timmons Out Monday Night Vs Broncos
Huge Blow guys, but i think fox will play great, hes one of my favorite players and hes a better run stopper so it could be a blessing because the broncos are definitely going to try to run the ball on our defense. so it looks like we are are going to be without 3 starters on Monday night.
Go STEELERS!!!!
Whats wrong with Willie?
Hey guys, not to beat a dead horse or anything but i got to ask whats wrong with Willie? Since FWP came to the league he has been one of my favorite running backs and I've loved his heart and determination (being undrafted). But the last couple of years, things have changed, if it has to do with poor blocking, injuries, lack of commitment to the run or possibly him just losing a step or 2, I've seen that he is no longer a top 5, or not even a top 10 back.
Willie Parker was great RB in 05,06,07 (unfortunately he got hurt, would have won the rushing title IMO) but the last couple of years it has been very frustrating seeing him deteriorate. Also in 06, 07 i thought we ran him way to much (Like Tomlin said "we will run him till the wheels fall off) and that's exactly what happened. After The Bus left (favorite player of all time), Willie didn't have another quality RB that could come in to give him some rest, so was on the field pretty much all of the game, and would pound the rock virtually by himself, also we had been running the ball the most of all the teams in the NFL.
But in 08 after a great 07 season by fast Willie, i looked for him to come back again and wreck havoc on the league (even with Faneca leaving, i thought we would still be a quality running team). Obviously it didn't turn out that way, our o-line couldn't get any push, Willie struggled with injuries, and we ended up turning in to a passing team. This frustrated Willie and he made comments to the media, cant blame him, i think his confidence was lowered and he didn't think of himself as an elite back. He never looked fast in 07, and i haven't seen his burst since the 07 season. I think that his time is done in the NFL and that it looks like Mendy, Memo, and maybe Redman in the future are taking over this team. After tonight's game against the Bears i was convinced that Willie had lost his burst from the last couple years, the 0-line looked like it was actually putting nice holes for him, but he looked slow going through the hole and was brought down easily.
Its time to start leaning more on Mendy and the other backs, i think that Willie is healthy now but he isn't where he used to be, and i can almost guarantee that he wont be signed next year, especially because of his age, even if hes willing to take a pay cut. Never the less i still love Willie Parker and he will always be in my mind when i think of the 2005-2009 Pittsburgh Steelers. What are your guys thoughts on this subject?

My thoughts on The game.
First OFF, i'd like to give props to Kemo, he played great and reminded me off faneca , with his blocks (especially his pulling blocks, they were devastating).
I thought gay was the weak point of our defense and i thought he had a terrible game, he was too off the receivers( like gave them to much room) and it looked like they were wide open against him all day, and please troy, heal quick we need u back there. Well...to add to that, i think the weak point right now is definately the secondary, they looked lost most of the day.
Also its no problem for reed, everyone has their off games. I thought Big Ben played great and our o-line was very very good, great pass protection all day and decent running, and i think they have the potential to be a top 15 o-line (good comparing to last year). Also it looked like Woodley got shut down by a 2nd year RT (u could call rookie cuz he was injured all last year) and Timmons it had a very solid game in his first action of the game, hes a 3rd down LB, hopefully he can be more.
Thats all folks, Very Good special teams (ALA sepulveda) shutting hester down. Cant wait till next week, it should be a good game, (also Big Ben has never lost in Ohio!!! Tough loss, cant wait till next week. GO STEELERS!!!!! What did you guys think about the game?
