Mile High Report Broncos vs. Packers Super Bowl on NFL Network

Next Saturday at 5pm PST, NFL Network's Super Bowl Classics will feature Super Bowl XXXII Denver Broncos vs. Green Bay Packers!

I recently found an old VHS tape with the victory parade through downtown and player speeches.  It will be great to revisit my favorite time as a Broncos fan--what a double header!

The Elway helicopter, T.D.'s courageous return after the migraine, Atwater's throttling of Favre, and even Rod Smith's blown fair catch.  I can't wait to see it all again.  Go Broncos!

Mile High Report Playcalling & Heart are not the Problem...It's Talent

The problem with the offense is not the play calling being predictable.  There are only so many plays you can call when you don't have a quarterback who can throw a deep ball.  The only thing predictable is our lack of a deep passing game.  Defenses picked up on that after the first 6 weeks.

<!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]-->

There are huge talent gaps on this team, beyond starters on O-line and D-line.  I have a different take on the last 4 years, in which we've averaged between 7-9 wins.  I think because the Broncos are a great organization which treats its players well, players come in with positive attitudes, belief in the system and their team, and this carries them during the early part of the season.  But due to inferior talent, I think they physically wear down as the season goes on.  They get psyched out mentally, and the team structure deteriorates.

<!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]-->

As poorly as we have drafted and done in free agency over the last five years, we're fortunate this hasn't been a 4-5 win team.  Without the great fans and Mr. Bowlen, that's where we'd be.  We are not losing to the Raiders and Skins because of a letdown; we are at their level talent-wise.  This is not about players having to suck it up.  This is about having to rebuild a team, regardless of what the record shows at the end of the year.
