Penguins recall Despres from WBS
Simon Despres has been called back up from WBS. Any ideas on who he is replacing in the lineup?
Pens recall G Theissen from WBS
I suppose this move isn't too surprising considering Brent Johnson's struggles this year in net. Fleury needs rest and the Pens have to win some games when he is not in, so let's see how Theissen does.
Crosby's return imminent?
Crosby returned to regular practice with the Pens. Rob Rossi reported on twitter that be believes both Staal and Crosby will be back "sooner rather than later" potentially right after the trade deadline.
Neal replaces Ovechkin as an All-Star
It looks like the Real Deal finally gets to be an All-Star thanks to Ovechkin choosing not to go.
Penguins Recall Forward Colin McDonald
"The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled forward Colin McDonald from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League, it was announced by executive vice president and general manager Ray Shero."
I am curious who he will be replacing...
Pens recall Jason Williams from WBS
Also, Staal is skating in this morning's practice but no Malkin, Crosby, or Bortuzzo. Not sure what to think about Malkin not skating.
Crosby not returning this weekend
"I will confirm that Sidney is not playing in the next two games," Bylsma said. "He had a good week of practice. He is progressing. We aren't keeping a secret. When he's going to play, we'll make sure we let you know."
Just par for the course...Staal out of tonight's game with "lower body injury"
Good News? CBC’s Elliotte Friedman say he thinks Coach Bylsma doesn't think it is anything serious...
Michalek out 4-6 weeks with broken finger
Just when the Pens get Orpik back, more bad news.
Pens Re-Sign Goaltender Brad Thiessen
One year, two-way deal worth $525,000 at the NHL level.
Penguins Name Bill Guerin Player Development Coach
"The Pittsburgh Penguins have hired former player and Stanley Cup champion Bill Guerin as player development coach, it was announced today by Executive Vice President and General Manager Ray Shero."
Great move IMO, glad to see Guerin back with the Penguins organization.
Check up coming for Crosby
Along with a checkup for Crosby, Shero has stated that Mike Comrie and Alex Kovalev will not be returning next year. Also, a deal was very close for Craig Adams but it fell through and talks will continue.
Penguins recall defenseman Brian Strait
With Brooks Orpik out it looks like Brian Strait is getting another shot with the big club.
"I would like to add another forward if possible, but it depends on what is going to be available and the price is going to be," Shero said. "This year I'm not into trading our first-round draft pick or something like that. That might take me out of some things, but if there is a right player, a rental, that makes sense for us [I'll be interested]."
Tangradi headed back to Pittsburgh
It looks like Eric Tangradi has been chosen to replace the injured Dustin Jeffrey as he has been recalled by the Pittsburgh Penguins again.
Malkin to Undergo Knee Surgery Thursday
Is expected to take 6 months for rehab which puts him back in time for training camp.
Not unexpected, but it's offical that Aaron Smith is out for Baltimore game
"Hopefully we get the job done against the Ravens, and we can have that conversation (about Smith playing) again next week," Tomlin told Steelers.com
Engelland signed to a 3-year extension
"The new contract goes into effect at the start of the 2011-12 season and will run through 2013-14. The average annual value of the deal is $566,700 over the term of the contract. "
Great move IMO.
Pens Recall Forward Chris Conner
Looks like Chris Conner is coming back up to the big club. Any idea who he is replacing?
