Clipper/NBA Tattoos
Found this pretty interesting with lots of fresh information on tattoos and players' meanings behind them.
You have to scroll down a little to see where the Clippers portion is.
Clipper rookies playing in I-95 Bridgeport Battle
Mentions of Travis Leslie and Trey Thompkins above. AND there's mention of Thompkins being 20 lbs. lighter! Start the season now!
Chris Kaman: So I heard from the inside that we might actually have a full season still and some low key meetings r going on right now! Twitter
LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS, CHRIS KAMANChris Kaman, prophetic? I sure hope so.
Blake interview
Pretty lengthy interview.
Had a blast covering Clippers for last 3 seasons. Great guys, awesome fans & dedicated, hard-working employees. On to new asmt. - Lisa Dillman
Lisa Dillman out as Clippers reporter and Broderick Turner is in.
Most despised owners in sports
Take a wild, wild guess where our friend Donald Tokowitz comes in at.
Lisa Dillman: Brian Cook to LAT on picking up his player op:"With the Clippers org on the rise and a phenom like Blake Griffin and leader like Mo Williams via Twitter
Look, it's going to be a long offseason so I think it's best we start to embrace every ounce of Clipper news imaginable. Starting with Brian Cook.
Blake sits down with Ahmad Rashad
How much fun was Ahmad Rashad on NBA Inside Stuff back in the day? That and he was married to Claire Huxtable? Amazing.
Good interview here but nothing glaring to get worked up over, except for the last part where Ahmad Rashad mentions playoffs next year and an eventual championship.
My conversation with Andy Roeser
Last Friday was the Clippers Select a Seat function. It's the annual "party" where season ticket holders get to check out available seats for next season and possibly move to a different spot. It's pretty inane when you think about it, but when your season ends in mid April it's nice having some Clipper related function going on.
After we got our seats we were on our way out when I spotted Andy Roeser. Here are some of the main things that were said:
* I told him that as a STH, I didn't care that the #1 pick was traded away and that I wasn't upset (we all have our opinions on the trade, I know). Roeser said that when the trade was made they knew that there was a chance that that could have happened but that they were willing to take the 2.8% chance. Also, he said that over a month ago Kyrie Irving was #5 on their board but with all the players dropping out he defaulted to #1.
* I asked him about the Minnesota pick and whether he'd trade it for the right piece. He said, and I quote, "Absolutely for the right piece. Does the right piece mean an aging Grant Hill? No. Does it mean for a 37 year old Steve Nash? No. Does it mean for Chris Paul? Absolutely, yes."
* When I asked about the 3 spot he said the team is "really, really active" in looking at players in free agency or via trade.
* Andy Roeser was wearing the same blazer from when Blake was drafted #1. He opened the inside and showed it to us (kind of weird?). He said that he needed to get EJ's number on the other side because, "Our team is built around them."
Lastly, to the fan that was wearing Blake All-Star jersey with sunglasses on (we were inside, guy), you blew it. I was talking about good, vital information and you came over and started to talk about how you took a picture with Andy last year. It ruined our conversation and my ability to get information. No one cares about your picture, guy. Way to ruin it.
Anyways, that's as much as I could get out of him. Sure it isn't much but with nothing else happening on the LAC end (unless Kaman's tweets defending his gun pictures count) I thought I'd share.

End of the world tomorrow? Kaman is protected.
One word -- Yikes.
Yet another trade on the draft pick/Baron trade
This one coming from Michael Eaves.
Gomes to be shut down the rest of the year?
One thing Del Negro is considering: shutting small down forward Ryan Gomes for the rest of the season. "Ryan's been battling his knee for a couple of months," Del Negro said. "He's got some swelling in his knee. Had an MRI last week on it. There's nothing structurally wrong, but he's just been battling through it."
Welcome, Mo and Goosey.
"Blake Griffin is overrated" - Skip Bayless
The answer is no.
Skip Bayless is a sensationalist. Everyone knows that. He says things purposely because a) ESPN pays/tells him to do so and b) no one listens to him anyways, so why not try to create controversy.
Nevertheless, it's a Clipper off day and rather than pressing refresh on my browser about 50 times an hour I thought this would get a good roll-of-the-eyes.
Babbit goes to the D-League
The verdict isn't out on Paul George or Gordon Heyward, but the success of players going to the D-League and turning it around in the NBA isn't very high, if my memory is correct.
Hail to the Chief.
"A late, longshot entry into the Melo sweepstakes could be the Clippers, according to two people with knowledge of the situation. Besides young players, the Clippers have everything the Nuggets want: 1) cap relief (L.A. is $5 million under the cap and thus could save Denver $10 million when accounting for luxury-tax savings in a lopsided deal); 2) draft picks (L.A. has Minnesota's 2011 first-round pick, which is unprotected in 2012); and 3) the large market Anthony craves (his offseason home is in L.A., and his wife, La La Vasquez, certainly approves).
A Clippers deal could be further sweetened with center Chris Kaman, who could either be a keeper or a trade chip with a $12.7 million expiring contract next season. But Melo signing off on becoming Kobe Bryant's housemate at Staples Center is viewed only as a last resort if he can't force his way to New York or New Jersey, sources say. And the Clippers aren't willing to part with any of the above as a third-team facilitator; they're only on the table if they're getting Anthony in return."
After the LeBron debacle I have no more patience for trade rumors. Hopefully this ends sooner than when The Decision led us on.
Matt Barnes likely out in Orl?
Looks like the Magic have signed our old friend Q. Richardson. I'm not going to look Orlando's salary structure moving forward (because then this would be a FanPost, right?) but I'm think it's safe to say Barnes is available.
Big Sofo likely to sign
I'm a fan of this. However, with signing MBFGC, who isn't known as the best rebounder for his size, will the Clips go after someone that can pull down boards as well as the 3rd PF? A poor man's Camby anywhere?
According to Jonathan Givony the Clippers have invited Marqus Blakely to Summer League.
But really, any excuse to listen to the Birdman is fine by me.
The LeBron Tour
Only a month and 4 days left. IMO, it can't end any sooner.
ESPN podcast with Ramona Shelbourne and Kim Hughes
Ramona Shelbourne and Kim Hughes on 710 ESPN. The Clipper talking points (poor owner, history, karma, etc) are exasperated throughout the podcast and while linked up with the Laker corporates of 710 the interviews become predictable. Nevertheless, it's worth a listen if only to hear Hughes's candor.
Eric Pincus -- What's next for the Clips?
Nothing that we all don't already know but as the Clippers are down 15 with a minute to go in the 2nd I thought it'd be prudent for me to gain some form of confidence.
Breaking News -- Dunleavy Out!
I wonder if this has anything to do with the Larry Brown rumors of late.
Clippers and religion?
Editor's note: I somehow had missed citizen yaggiefresh's excellent FanPost on this article before I created a FanShot of it last night. His commentary and expertise are significantly deeper than mine on the subject, so it deserves the spotlight. Read it after the jump.
Game blacked out and redemption?
I'm not one to care much for redemption. It's never suited me to draw ire from those that may have slighted me. I doubt it's being mature on my behalf, moreover just don't really care to get involved. However, after watching last nights comeback come to a screeching end because FSW blew the coverage somehow I couldn't help but to think of one person -- Ralph Lawler.
Ralph and Mike were suspended for a game -- and it could have been 3 if (supposedly) DTS hadn't stepped in -- for their comments that offended a fan. I understand that and, being a person of color, I can see where they were going with it. Nevertheless, a fan was offended. And what was the biggest win of the year thus far we had the choice of the one-sided ESPN coverage or the duality of Michael Eves, someone that also covers the Lakers. Again, because someone was slighted we had our most valuable asset taken from us.
Back to last night and the whole redemption bit. I can't help but to put the two incidents together and wonder, shouldn't FOX be held responsible in some way? The irony that FOX is standing up people of Iranian descent is especially peculiar, but that's not a comment for this site. Anyways, why is that Ralph laughs at one comment made by Mike Smith and he's suspended while FOX makes us miss practically the entire 4th quarter and we have to sit back and take it? Call it my yearning desire to take down corporate America but something should be said. If FOX prides itself on accountability why is it that there's none on their end for last nights debacle?
So, Clips Nation, any suggestions on "sticking it to the man"?
Donaghy's book re. referee treatment
http://deadspin.com/5392067/excerpts-from-the-book-the-nba-doesnt-want-you-to-read?skyline=true&s=i
It's an impressive read. Even if half of it's true or slightly fabricated the entire idea of it is disturbing. The way Donaghy describes "superstar treatment" and how league officials would purposely send certain referees out to particlar games.
We all know the NBA is out to make money. We get it. But at what expense (no pun intended) do we as fans have to see our respective teams fail so the status quo can thrive?
Kind of makes sense after seeing the calls the Lakers get. All. The. Time.

Clipper bar?
Recently a friend (and recent Clipper convert) of mine and I were talking about the upcoming season and how fun it'd be if we were to get together as Clipper fans and watch games together at a bar or lounge. Now, we've all been at a bar when the Lakers are playing (I challenge someone to tell me something more frustrating. Go ahead. Try it.) and now we think it's time we lay claim to our own domain.
So, Clipper Nation, does anyone know of a bar/lounge/place of food and drinks that isn't infested with Laker fans in the downtown area? Thanks!
