"Move the rolling tradition to the intersection of Toomer's Corner (its original location) by building a professionally-designed, permanent structure conducive to rolling,.."
This oughta be good.
Alabama basketball = pins under fingernails
I love basketball, I played basketball and I still shoot some every now and then so I’m not just a football only fan, but the fact that NO ONE on this team can shoot the damn ball is baffling. The first 15 minutes was just so aggravating I couldn’t watch anymore.
I’m not sure what the answer is except maybe they’re so focused on trying to get the ball inside that everyone’s tight and scared to shoot resulting in BAD misses. They may be over-thinking things on offense. The purpose of half-court offense is to create a good shot/scoring opportunity for someone whether it’s down low or downtown. If you have an open look-SHOOT IT!
We got a 4 or 5-star 2-time Mr. Basketball on our team that averaged 30-whatever points a game in HS that was supposed to give us an outside threat but you wouldn’t know it from watching the games. He just blends in with the rest of ‘em. This guy needs to be taking WAY more shots. Let Releford and Eblen run the offense and give Lacey some catch and shoot opportunities and maybe he’ll get hot. He may go 1-15, but if we’re only scoring 50 points a game anyway, so what? Give him a chance.
If we’re going to lose, we may as well go down guns blazing.
(Maybe I DO know what the answer is : ) .....but if anyone would like to chime in on how Coach Grant could jump-start this offense or just vent a little, this is as good a place as any.)
Missouri catches on quick.
Nick Saban, other coaches discuss agents with NFL
Nick Saban is now officially the alpha-dog of college coaches. The 'other coaches' include Urban Meyer, Jim Tressel, Bob Stoops and some guy named Mack Brown.
ESPN-House of Pain:
50 Most Painful Outcomes in CFB history
Depending on your perspective,of course. For example, # 47 wasn't painful at all (Except for the firecracker that exploded in my hand in the post game celebrating).

The LSU Corndog Story
Because it's about that time- and you know it's true!
Glen Coffee highlights vs. Broncos
Coffee's looking good for the 49ers. I believe he had 67 yards on 14 carries. Moves we're all familiar with plus a nice lick on the Denver CB # 31.
Kentucky's Rich Brooks retiring?
Stumbled across this on SBN's 'A Sea of Blue' (great site, btw). I suppose by the time most of you see this, it will be confirmed one way or the other.

The ball's in Kentucky's court
Not really a big secret, but here's an article out of Richmond describing the KY, FL and Bama 3-way. I hope Mal has got Plan B ready just in case.
JaMychal Green named SEC Freshman of the Week
FYI - Bama at Arkansas Thursday night on ESPN. Wonder if they'll show up and play hard or mail it in? Arkansas has been struggling lately.
Standing 'O' for the 2008 Crimson Tide!
I've read and heard all the comments from the so-called experts and from some uf fans predicting our demise ad nauseum, but one uf comment caught my attention.
It was your basic 'we're gonna kick your ___ blah, blah' comment- nothing special. But they also added something like "....and ruin your weekend". If we do come up a little short, I will definitely be disappointed, but 'ruin my weekend'? Not hardly.
This team has worked their tails off and played their guts out and taken us along for the ride from an afterthought #24 ranking to #1 in the land and the last man standing. I have enjoyed every minute of it, and I hope to be celebrating even more Saturday night!
But no matter the outcome, the 2008 edition of the Alabama Crimson Tide deserve and will receive a standing ovation from me.
Escambia (Trent Richardson) on TV Friday
For those of us who live in the Mobile / Pensacola area, WJTC Channel 44 high school game of the week is Escambia v Washington. Gametime is 7pm.
I do not have a link to this info, I just noticed it as I was scrolling through the tv games on the dish to see what's on this weekend and to dvr the Bama game.
(Personally, I don't believe Ty Willingham and the Huskies have a chance)
Michigan AD compares RR's 1st year to Nick Saban's
"The loss to Toledo was Michigan's first in 25 games against Mid-American Conference teams. And the upcoming schedule offers the Wolverines no favors; next is a trip to No. 3 Penn State, followed by a meeting with rival No. 20 Michigan State.
But Martin called for patience, noting that another first-year coach, Alabama's Nick Saban, endured a loss to Louisiana-Monroe last season.
"And where is he now? [No. 2] in the country? Second year," Martin said of Saban. "So things turn quickly." "
The BCS cocktail: What's in this?
In case anyone's interested in the BCS mixture of polls and computer rankings- Here's the ingredients explained in detail.
Some 80's German metal to keep the party goin' (Or, those UGA coaches are some wild and crazy guys!)
I'm a fan of 'how will it affect Alabama' Like most fans, I’ll watch the big national games (OSU-USC next week) but I rarely watch a game "just because it’s on" . My interest in other games is based mainly on what’s in it for us. Kinda like this: I’m interested in East Carolina/ WV this week because WV is ranked ahead of us.
My thinking going into the Clemson game was- if we win, we’ll probably be mid to low teens in the polls with 2 gimmes coming up, during that time other teams ahead of us will hopefully lose and bounce us up 1-5 spots going into the Arkansas game.
Beating Ark and hopefully some other teams ahead of us losing puts us on the doorstep of the Top10 (maybe IN the top 10), going into the UGA game -who should still be undefeated-perfect!
If we somehow pull the upset, we’re looking at being in the NC mix by the end of the month.
College football is like a race- pass the teams you can while hoping everyone in front of you will crash and burn!

The Legend is going national...
Great article on Mt. Cody.
Apparently, the meltdown continued on the team bus. From thestate.com:
"From what I’ve been told, Cumbie was rather animated on the team bus after Saturday’s game. Over what, I don’t know. But at some point, defensive coordinator Vic Koenning asked/instructed Cumbie to get off the bus and go ride the third of the team’s three chartered rides.
So Cumbie cools off by walking away and perhaps into the Georgia Dome for a few minutes.
When he returned, the team buses were gone. He had been checked off as on the team roll when he got on the first bus, so the team thought it had him … or, at least, that he had gotten on the other bus.
So Cumbie had to call his parents to come pick him up.

"Now, all ya'll scared to ask another question?" LMAO!
Bama-Georgia on ESPN
Scanning through the 2008 Major College Football National TV Schedule in the small-type 'scoreboard' section of today's Mobile Press-Register Sports page, I notice that the September 27th Alabama at Georgia came will be televised by ESPN at 6:45.
I also learned that Yuri Fudoh is leading the Women's British Open after three rounds, Party Time Addie paid $7.80 to win in race 8 at Mobile Greyhound Park Saturday night, and Jonathon Cooper was named assistant football coach at Sam Houston State.
No way we win this game...
Props toDon McNeal-If not for this incredible tackle, the Goal Line Stand would not have happened.
Bama v. Georgia Tech -that's what I'm talkin' about!
Here is some interesting, random football news that was released earlier today. It seems the Alabama-Clemson season opener of 2008 won't be the last time the Crimson Tide play in Atlanta.
Alabama and Georgia Tech have agreed to a home-and-home series during the 2013 and 2014 season. (Man, that sounds far away.) UA hosts the Yellow Jackets in 2013, then plays in Atlanta's Bobby Dodd Stadium at Historic Grant Field in 2014.
Here is the release: Click me (and scroll down).
Seems this focus on Atlanta for recruiting will extend into stuff relating to the schedule.
Actually, not all of this is completely new. Alabama Athletics Director Mal Moore told me during the 2006 season that Georgia Tech was scheduled for the 2010-11 season. Apparently, that has been moved back a few years.
