Texas/Big 12 reported to likely be staying together, who would you like to see added as team twelve to Pac10 if it works out like this?
Apparently ESPN is reporting via Orangebloods that Texas is likely to stay in a new ten team Big 10, which would mean everyone else is probably going to stay too. Good news for the Buffs, as this means a much much much easier conference, but its bad for our new conference and for money. I really would love if this is true though, since I would prefer to just be in the current Pac 10 with maybe Utah added to make it an even 12 as we could compete easier, and it would feel a lot more like we were in a new conference than just a combination of the old and new. I'm a bay area native and the Pac 10 has always been my favorite conference, and this news excites me a great deal. Who do you think the Pac 10 should add if it works out like this? Utah/BYU seem likely to me.
Russel off to worst start since Ryan Leaf, Akili Smith
Just depressing, but entriely based in fact. He's young, but even young QB's show promise by this time if they're going to make it. See how the young QBs drafted just this year are already showing a ton of promise?
CarGo Called up by Rockies
Carlos Gonzo, the man we traded for Matt Holliday, is getting called up to the majors after a white hot AAA start where he hit .339 with six steals, ten taters, a .638 slugging percentage, and fifty nine RBI. As much as I like the kid I have to admit part of me wants him to be terrible (not too likely) since watching another traded away player become a super duper star would kill me. But yeah, best of luck!
Maggette travels six times in a single possession
Kendell gets LASIC eye surgery, leads NL catchers in batting average and is third in OPS
Why couldn't he have done this a few years ago? I guess the fact that he was apparently blind before explains his hitting with us for a few years before we traded him. Not that this really matters too much to the Athletics, just thought it was kind of interesting that hes become such a beast now, not that he would be under contract with us or anything. I like Suzuki more any way.
