These late penalties that the Canes are taking are disturbing; ones taken in a  close game with less than 5 minutes remaining on the clock. Staal last night, Skinner and LaRose previously. C'mon, Staal hooking the guy at the blue line with 3 minutes to go? Not smart.

Maybe it's getting the attention that it deserves, I don't follow the posts all that closely, but I just had to give a line to Erik Cole. I really thought his best days were behind him, but he has shown me in the last month what a great player he is. The effort is there night in and night out, and the production is there too. What a smart, talented player and unselfish player.

I tend to rag on the Canes a bit, maybe too much. Just that I think they have such character and talent on this team and I think they should be doing better. Maybe it speaks to parody in the league, I don't know. The one glaring shortcoming I see between them and the level 1 teams is their passing. It seems so sloppy. Watch the Wings, or the Flyers, crisp accurate passing.
