OT: Sorta/Carter Albrecht
Just read on the DMN tht he was killed in a terrible accident:

Did anyone listen to the Hardline today? Were they off for Labor Day? What was the discussion like? This is the understatement of the year, but Danny must be devastated. My sympathies with all affected.
Death of the Ticket?
Last week - Norm and Frito vs Gordon. The most tense thing I've ever heard on the Ticket. Highlights include Gordon subtly insinuating Norm is unethical in charging for select picks of the Pole. Doesn't get nominated for Emergency Break, management doesn't allow BAD Radio to replay it.
Today: Bob and Dan downplaying the TO incident despite very clear police report. They allow Donovan's ridiculous story about 911 calls being confusing as evidence.
Say it ain't so...
A-Rod Hatred

A lot of horseshit in here about Yankee mythology etc., but captures the essence of why he is so disliked (hated, really) but most people who follow baseball closely. To me this isn't about whether or not he is a great baseball player, its about whether or not he is a shitty person.
Has Gammons Gone Insane?
NAME G AB R H 2B 3B HR TB RBI BB SO SB CS BA OBP SLG OPS

Second, while Carlos Delgado gives them a major presence in the middle of the order, the fact remains that their two best players are David Wright and Jose Reyes, and Carlos Beltran is a very good player, as well. If they don't have to trade Lastings Milledge to get a Barry Zito, then by the end of the season they will in many ways resemble the '96 Yankees, where their three best players are all under 25. Joel Sherman and I agree on a lot of things, none more strongly than watching Jose Reyes hit the ball in the gap may be the best thing to watch in sports. http://insider.espn.go.com/espn/blog/index?name=gammons_peter&action=login&appRedirect=http%3a%2f%2finsider.espn.go.com%2fespn%2fblog%2findex%3fname%3dgammons_peter
Baseball Gods: Is it too much to ask?
Is it too much to ask that two of the four most annoying franchises in sports, ie, the Yankees and Red Sox, could be ousted in the first round? It would make up a bit for the crappy Rangers' season I just had to endure. Thanks for listening.
PS
Oh, and baseball gods, the other two are the Cubs and Patriots. You are doing a nice job with the Cubs, but could you use your influence to keep the Pats out of the news? If I never saw Tom Brady's face again it would be too soon.
