What is up with Chykie?
I read on the comment section of another post that Orangebloods reported that he is in the doghouse. Is anyone familiar with this story? He's our best CB and the secondary is struggling without him. There seems to be a dearth of information the subject and I'm to cheap to sign-up with Orangebloods.
For obvious reasons, this has been the most Monday-feeling Monday since this summer. I've been reading all the posts and comments with the same voracity, but with one eye closed. Seventy-five? Good.

Look, people...
I am in no way excusing any player or coach, but if you really thought the last two teams were championship-caliber you're delusional. Longhorn fans have a long history of putting unrealistic expectations on the football program. If those expectations were met, we would win the MNC every year. NOBODY has that kind of success. While the last two years should have been better, there was no way we were going to win it all. So much went wrong this year in every conceivable fashion. You just can't overcome all the injuries, disciplinary issues, etc. week after week when you simply lack the talent to do so.

Thoughts on GD's and DA's performance
I thought GD rebounded nicely. Most of the offensive problems were related to poor execution. I know nearly everyone has had it with him, but year after year the offense's numbers have always ranked among UT's best.
On the other hand, I thought Akina was abysmal today. God, how we just served up those screens and play-action throw-backs. We were lucky the OSU staff went into a shell in the 4th. I think he's in over his head at this point.
What y'all think?

Anxious Before Big 12 Opener
As we arrive at the beginning of conference play, I'm looking back at the non-conference portion of the schedule and finding myself very concerned about the fate of our dear Longhorns. I've been watching and reading this particular blog very keenly since I first stumbled upon it during the MNC season and have come to the conclusion that this lot is INTELLIGENT and knows its football. That's why this is my go-to source for all things Longhorn. However, the intelligence and general football quotient of this group is the very thing that is leading me near the brink of despair.
