Turf Show Times Any background info on Lake Dawson?

I read on SI today that Lake Dawson was likely going to get the nod as our next GM. To be honest, I know absolutely nothing about lake dawson other than he's been with the titans for 5 years ( 3 winning seasons). I would like to see something about him that can make me maybe feel more confident about him and about our current hiring process because I'm a little concerned with the way things have gone. (really only considered one candidate for HC)

Turf Show Times Eric Decosta for GM

He just announced he's available and considering leaving the ravens which should be big news considering how coveted he's been since 2000 and still stayed with the ravens. Obviously Ozzie Newsome is the big guy in Baltimore but its no secret how deeply involved DeCosta is and I think he's the type of guy who should be on the top of a lot of GM list. Considering what he accomplished over the past 16 years with the Ravens I think he's more than capable of taking over a GM job and transferring some of that philosophy here if possible. He's done an outstanding job with defensive personnel and he's also recently showed some skill with offensive personnel.

Turf Show Times Despite his Failures Spags is a classy guy

No Rams fan is satisfied with the teams performance. Every Rams fan blames the problems with the coach and the GM. For the most part I agree that we do need change in the front office but its important to remember that whoever comes in to replace Spags will most likely not have his charisma or demeanor. For everything Spagnoulo failed to do on the field, he was still upbeat and optimistic all the time. Most people seem to think Jeff Fisher or Jon Gruden will wind up in St. Louis and they are both phenomenal coaches but Fisher isn't a big talker and is fairly pessimistic and Gruden is known to be annoying brash and outright offensive at times. So yes Spags should be fired tomorrow but i will definitely miss his upbeat press conferences and mind-blowing optimism and I definitely wish him the best of luck wherever he ends up next.

Not a great head coach or a great motivator or leader but surely a great guy and a guy i wish we could retain as Defensive coordinator

Turf Show Times Some Positives and a major negative

I always feel like TST gets so full of negativity and hatred after a loss i wanted to post this.  heres a list of some positives and one major negative

1. We were the better team tonight.  - no we didn't win which is what really matters but we took it to the giants offensively and defensively and it was great to see the rams play like that.

Turf Show Times Sam Bradford has previous experience with Mark Clayton

When i first heard of the ravens trading Mark Clayton to the Rams, my first thought was the fact that Clayton being an OU alum could have worked out with Sam previously.  I knew Mark Clayton graduated in 05 and Sam came in 06-07 but I expected that at least Sam's freshman year Clayton had returned to get some work done there.  Turns out he did but he only worked with Rhett Bomar and a few other QBs.  Sam was to low on the depth chart at that time.

However, Clayton returned and participated in OU's 7 v 7 drills prior to the 09-10 season and got in some extensive work with Sam there. The AP wrote a post that detailed that a bit better here.  So not only are we getting a high motor guy who  is a great deep threat, we are getting a guy that has a connection with our starting QB and honestly he should work in well very quickly.  Id expect Sam to form a strong bond with clayton at the start of this year and carry it into the next few seasons.

Turf Show Times Stan Kroenke's previous failures are concerning

Stan Kroenke is the new majority owner of the rams and that speaks volumes to the success of the team.  Owners with deep pockets and little interest tend to be the most successful where as owners with deep pockets and a death-grip on the team like Al Davis and Dan Snyder tend to fall flat on their faces.

Kroenke is known to be usually a reserved kind of guy but there have been a few incidents which we need to be wary of. Such as the Infamous WWE conflict when Kroenke scheduled the WWE to use the pepsi center despite the fact that his team could very well play that night if they progressed in the playoffs. They ended up doing so and they created a massive scheduling conflict.

The reason I bring this up is... Kroenke showed absolutely no confidence in his team and by signing the contracts showed that he thought they wouldnt get there and he wasnt confident in them at all.  Who is to say he wont do that to the rams someday albeit that NFL scheduling is abit easier but still.  I think its best that Kroenke just ignores management and gives GM Billy Deveany and his team a large budget because they are the ones paid to analyze talent he probably knows little to nothing about talent and should leave that side alone.
