Now that he's a free agent, is there any reason not to get this done? He's a perfect fit and may end up being cheaper than Blake.

rotation for white sox series

I'm reading now that Gardenhire will not alter the rotation for the Sox series, and the scheduled starters will stay in the order they are now -- Baker, Perkins, then Blackburn. I understand why they can't get Liriano into that series since he's scheduled to start Sunday. But with the off day on Monday the 22nd, why can't they skip Perkins? Wouldn't you rather matchup with the Sox with:

Baker (sept 23)

Blackburn (sept 24)

Slowey (sept 25)

That would all be on regular rest. Liriano could then start on regular rest on Friday, insert Perkins on Saturday, and then Baker on Sunday. I know they don't want back to back lefties, but I think it's important to keep Perkins the hell away from the White Sox the way he is pitching right now.
