Tao Te Wolves, Ch. 46: Workhorses, not Weapons

Random, wistful setup (it could be better, I'll readily admit): Opponents shooting 47% from 3-point-range the last 5 games. Defensive rating on the up-swing. O-rating on the down-swing. Corey...

Seimone Augustus: Russian Warrior

3

Did anyone else know that one of our Lynx stars spends nearly half her year playing basketball in Russia? For much more money? And apparently diamonds and stuff? And the "ex"-KGB owner of her team was 'assasinated'? From the BBC. Wowza, Seimone!

Nifty presentation In honor of our beloved losers of the night

Hornets have had a terrible schedule

9

Just look at the teams NO has had to play. The only somewhat easy games were against phoenix 2x and sacramento. It is amazing they have won 4. One win was at denver. Many games they hold opponents to low scoring totals, also. Some how, some way, we need to find out who is most responsible and trick them into trading with us.

Consider This, Mr. Love:

2

I tell myself, "Hey! Only fools rush in" Only time will tell If we stand the test of time All I know You've got to run to win and I'll be damned if I'll get hung up on the line. Hey! No, I can't recall anything at all Oh baby, this blows 'em all away Woo! It's got what it takes So tell me why can't this be love? You want it straight from the heart Oh, tell me why Can't this be love?

Devean George to attend Wolves' camp, act as mentor

4

I never knew that he's from the area. Sounds cool to me. He can tell Love why MPLS is better than LA - More history!, lol From the article..(originally tweeted by Jerry Z..that dude IS ON IT!): Former Augsburg College All-American Devean George, a first-round pick of the Los Angeles Lakers in 1999, said he has been invited to the Minnesota Timberwolves training camp and is being considered for a player development role with the NBA club if he doesn't make the 15-man roster. George, a Minneapolis native, went through an individual workout today with Timberwolves trainers at the team's practice facility at Target Center. "I want to stay home and work with the young guys here," said George, an 11-year NBA veteran. "I don't want to go overseas or look for a spot with another team (NBA)." George, 34, said he has had talks with Timberwolves president of basketball operations David Kahn about working with the team during the 2011-12 season, which was reduced to 66 regular-season games because of the lockout. The Timberwolves are waiting for the league to announce the schedule for all 30 teams to determine plans for training camp. The league set Friday as a tentative date for teams to open training camp.

A hard cap's gonna fall

19

Another real gm link. The main hilarity for me: in listing the (lack of) knowledge about where big-market teams stand on the hard cap issue, the author includes Toronto (!). I didn't check, but this must be a canadian author/news source. But also-isn't conventional agreement that big teams do not want a hard cap? I wore a helmet to my lakers interview, and they were totally against it..

More Rubio Stuff

Nothing much, but I don't think it has been posted before. Good old real gm- the original nintendo of sports blogs..

About halfway down, currently.. Apparently Love's coach in volleyball is jesse rambis.. Love says something to the effect of, "i think jesse is the best rambis I've been coached by, yet!" He later plays it down, but not that much.. Shazam!
