PROOF that SU basketball never plays road games!
Those cowardly Orangemen...never leave the friendly confines of the Carrier Dome until January, unlike those brave, red-blooded, take-on-all-comers like Kentucky, Louisville, North Carolina, et al. The PROOF of what everyone has been saying all along is right here: (PDF)
I think it's time all of us apologize to Dana, Andy, The Credit Card Thief and everyone else who works so hard to inform the nation of SU's cowardly scheduling practices. I can only hope DOCTOR Gross, JB and Hop see the error of their ways.

Boise State official just told me the school has asked the Big East for help in placing its non-football programs.

Enjoy the flights to the Spud State, Georgetown. During your time in the air, maybe you can spend it thinking about how you screwed yourselves by fighting to keep Penn State out of the Big East, letting the Providence Mafia control the conference and then voting against accepting ESPN's offer last year.
Toodles,
Syracuse.
SU BB @Missouri too ?
Missouri fans say they're hearing SU will play them as part of the Big East/SEC challenge: tigerboard.com
Great. Just we need. Another home out-of-conference game. Missouri is in Columbia. Columbia University is in New York, therefore it's a home game for SU. Add this one to the game against San Diego State on an aircraft carrier (Carrier Corporation has naming rights for SU's arena) and Syracuse plays no road games before January again. Why won't SU ever play away from home in pre-conference??
Pinstripe Bowl ratings drop 20%
Last season the Pinstripe Bowl got a 2.63 rating: http://www.bcsfootball.org/news/story?id=4819384
This season the Pinstripe Bowl got a 2.1 rating: http://www.sportsbusinessdaily.com/Daily/Issues/2012/01/13/Media/Bowl-ratings/Bowl-Viewership.aspx
And Jersey State even had the benefit of playing on a Friday before a holiday weekend (last season's game was on a Thursday). Undoubtedly there were a lot more people off from work this year as compared to last.
There is no spinning this. News directors that lose 20% of an audience from the previous year get fired. TV shows that lose 20% of the audience from the previous show get canceled. Simply put, this is the TV ratings equivalent of an ass-kicking.
Any more questions about why the ACC picked SU over Jersey State?

Jersey State too broke to pay athletes extra $2000
If you pay close attention to college sports, you probably already know the NCAA is considering allowing schools to pay athletes an extra $2000 "true cost of college" benefit. If you're not familiar with the idea, there are more details here: Link
Today we learned there are 109 Division I universities against the proposal: Link (See Page 5)
A quick glance shows most of the schools against it are the small schools that probably shouldn't even be in Division I anyway. But there are two large universities against the plan. Wake Forest is one. They're afraid the plan will put them out of compliance with Title IX. (See above link Page 13). And our old friends from Jersey are also against it. They say they're also worried about Title IX, but if you look closely (See above link Page 9), there's another reason they're against it: They're too broke to pay it!
The application of the MEA should undergo further analysis also due to the lopsided effect that it will have on certain institutions without the financial resources to provide this MEA which then cascades into a competitive effect in recruiting and retention.
I was ambivalent about this idea, but if it gives SU a recruiting advantage over Jersey State, I'm all for it.

@McMurphyCBS Brett McMurphy Big East authorized conference to engage in formal discussions to include 12 football playing schools
Have I mentioned recently how glad I am SU is getting out of this clusterfark of a conference?
This move is so Big East.
The BE could have been Boston College, Cincinnati, Connecticut, Louisville, Memphis, Miami, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Rutgers, Temple, Virginia Tech and West Virginia, but instead the BE will be the Island of Misfit Toys.
Am I the only one who thinks Terra Nova is going to be a gigantic shiat pile?
It's the most-hyped new TV show of the Fall season and it's got everything: disastrous climate change, time travel, dinosaurs, really good looking people, dinosaurs, people fighting against incredible odds, dinosaurs, human will surviving no matter what the challenge and dinosaurs. Did I mention there are dinosaurs?
If you haven't heard of Terra Nova, it's the story of 1,000 humans from the year 2149 who need to flee an Earth ruined by climate change and decide to travel back 85 million years to prehistoric Earth.
Stop right there.

Pitt insider on how it went down
This should be required reading for everyone against the move and everyone else who is bashing Pitt and SU:
USC's field ruined by commies, vegetarian punks
http://espn.go.com/los-angeles/ncf/story/_/id/6943950/concerts-force-usc-trojans-play-damaged-field
Dirt painted green. Awesome. I can't wait to find out how many twisted knees and ankles SU suffers while playing out there. Maybe they can set fire to the rest of the field and stadium while they're at it. Since a USC game at the Carrier Dome was taken away from us, they should just move this game to the Dome. Thanks, DOCTOR Gross!
How to spot a Duke fan
Syracuse: Record: 17-0. RPI: 2. SOS: 39. Road wins against RPI < 300 teams: 2.
Duke: Record 15-1. RPI: 10. SOS: 58. Road wins against RPI < 300 teams: 0.
So naturally, lots of talking heads have Duke ahead of Syracuse in their latest rankings.
Here's who's on our Sh*t List:

Someone at Nike needs an ass-kicking
Nike has apparently decided that they haven't created enough of a blight upon sports with their hideous uniforms. They're now moving on to hideous basketball courts
Consol Arena is not a home game for Pitt
On Twitter, Fox Sports' Jeff Goodman remarked how odd Tennessee's loss to Oakland was considering the Volunteers beat Villanova on a neutral court and won at Pitt. Some guy tried to correct him saying the Tenn/Pitt game wasn't on Pitt's campus. Goodman noted, correctly, that it was still a home game for Pitt: http://twitter.com/#!/goodmanonfox/status/14904235820843008
But then Sporting News' Mike DeCourcy decided to interject the dumbest thing ever: http://twitter.com/#!/tsnmike/status/14905677260529664
Another Syracuse fan says Dukie Vitale said SU doesn't play a road game until January 17. I actively avoid Dukie V., so I'll have to take that fan's word for it.
So as a service to you, dear Syracuse fan: a recap of what is and isn't a home game:
