I got just 1 thing to say, How bout dem
Vigilantes!!!
Now, it looks like football, smells like football and sounds like football but how can this possibly be? I thought the players and the owners couldn't come to an agreement in the CBA? Oh wait, it's Arena Football. So the first thing that comes to my mind is how is it that a thriving enterprise entity like the NFL can not work something out to see the game continue uninterrupted while the game goes on in Arena Football? After all, Arena Football went belly up in 2009 thanks in part to "The Recession" something that NFL players are oblivious to and deny its existence. So what makes an Arena football player buckle up his chin strap when Peyton Manning scheduled to make 20 million dollars refuses? What could possibly be his motivation? Money?

I felt like doing a post on the CBA but it would likely get me banned, so here`s what else? another post on Mock Drafts.

SBN Mock Saint`s rep
Had the pleasure...again this yr of representing the Saint`s in a mock draft (for some reason no Saint`s fan wants to rep them)
http://www.mockingthedraft.com/2011/2/20/2003460/draft-results-for-the-2011-5-round-nfl-live-mock-draft
Was wondering how you all thought I did.
Deandre McDaniel, SS, Clemson was my intended 2nd rd pick but the site crashed and my computer froze and the pick was made for me.
RD 1 Mark Ingram RB Alabama
Went into this draft with 4 picks with the intention of addressing the O- Line with at least 1 pick but did n`t. Brees was harassed at times especially late in the season but opponents did n`t fear the run game and tee`d off on Brees. Pierre Thomas and Reggie Bush were missing in action at various times last season and might not be back, so having the best back in the draft fall to us was too good to pass on.
RD 2 Jurrell Casey DT Southern California
Hopefully this pick will improve the production of former 1rst rd pick Sedrick Ellis, Greg Williams creativity will find ways of providing some pressure from the inside.
RD 3A K.J. Wright OLB Mississippi State
Going into the draft we felt we needed to upgrade the OLB position and feel very fortunate to acquire Wright at this position. We see huge upside and will ask alot from him.Strong against the run and feel his coverage skills will improve but we think we can use him to apply pressure on passing downs.
RD 3B Steven Friday DE Virginia Tech
Raw, and a late bloomer but we see huge potential and at this point of the draft we did n`t see any player that could provide better pressure to the opposing QB so we went out and took him. We feel he can come in and start on passing downs and has the frame to add weight and get stronger without losing speed. Having no 4th or 5th rd picks resulted in us reaching a little on this pick.

# Cincinnati (4-12) A.J. Green

"the Dallas Cowboys" are on the clock and we here in the war room are fielding offers from interested parties for our number 9 pick. We would like to know if your team would like to get into the bidding to be on the clock with pick 9 to ensure that you get your guy to move your franchise to the next level. Here is our offer, the ball is in your court.
Miami gets pick 9, value 1,350 pts.
Dallas gets pick 15,value 1,050pts and Miami`s 15 th pick in rd 3, value 195 pts and a 2012 3 rd pick. Since we don`t know where the Dolphins will be picking in rd 3 in 2012 it`s hard to say who wins the trade on a point basis, an early pick would give the advantage to the Cowboys and a late 3rd rd pick would favour the Dolphins.
This deal would allow you to leapfrog 2 potentially QB hungry teams, the Vikings and the Redskins and select the QB of your choice assuming you intend on selecting QB in rd 1, Cam Newton might make the perfect QB for your system. Some consider Cam Newton as the number 1 pick of the draft and here`s your chance at getting him at number 9.

The 9 pick is worth 1,350 pts. The Redskins are on deck and think that they might be ready to snatch a player from under your nose, also The Ravens and Patriots could be ready to move up and make a play on that same player. That player is WR Julio Jones and we `d like to help you guys to get him or any player you decide on. Bottom line is we `d like to stick it to the Redskins can you help us help you?
In the deal we would require your 1rst rd pick number 14 worth 1100 pts the defecit to make up is 250 pts for the deal to be even and we would be wanting your 14th pick in rd 3 which is valued at 200 pts and a 5th rd pick in 2012 approx value 35 pts meaning your team would be getting the better of the deal. Our reasons for accepting less than face value.
1) We don`t want to see Julio in a Redskin`s jersey.
2) We`d like to stick it to them.
3) For our needs we don`t deem any player worth this pick.
4) We`d love the extra picks, and we `re pretty pushed against the cap and can save some by trading down.

Dallas trades 1st rd. pick #9 and their 5th rounder, pick #140 (1386 points) for Jax 1st round #16 and 2nd round pick # 49 (1410 points).
Here is a chance to turn this franchise around, what a splash the Jags would make by passing the QB hungry Redskins, Vikings and Dolphins, this would give you the player of your choice to take your team to the next level.

The difference between pick 9 and 12 is 150 points that needs to be made up, your 4th rd pick is worth 84 points so we would need your 3rd rd`er in 2012 point value unknown but would put you on the short end of the stick...price you pay for not having a 3rd rd pick this yr ( Randy Moss) and also the fact that you are dealing a future pick.
Strictly off the record...naturally you would be leap frogging the Redskins who could be looking at QB, also We are in talks with other clubs that could have QB at the top of their list namely the Jaguars and the Dolphins.
So in a nutshell can we do business? How good would Blaine Gabbert or Cam Newton look in a Purple Vikings jersey?
Kyle Calloway, G released from the Bills
can play RT as well, very surprising they released him as the Bills are not that strong at O line. Draftniks were high on him prior to the draft not sure why he failed to impress in Buffalo.
could be a project for our O-line. Maybe we could sneak him on the practice squad if his ceiling is higher than Tepper or any other lineman the Cowboys may be planning on keeping for the practice squad.
my shot at the 53
Wow this was tough, now going into this I knew it would be tough to limit myself to choosing 53 for roster spots but even just as tough as selecting only 9 for the practice squad. Here is a breakdown of our roster position by position as I see it.
QB
Tony Romo *
Jon Kitna *
Stephen McGee *
now keep in mind part of this is my opinion but mostly what I feel that the Cowboys organization is thinking for instance right off the bat I feel Kitna has no business being employed by a NFL roster except possibly as a mascot, however the Cowboys think Kitna can come in if needed if something happens to Romo...kind of the same confidence they had in Bad Johnson (not a typo).
McGee gets a bad rap but at this point he is what he is...a 3rd string QB so he`s no where fully cooked and patience is needed.
WR
Miles Austin *
Dez Bryant *
Roy Williams *
Patrick Crayton *
Kevin Ogletree *
Sam Hurd *
Jesse Holley PS
Terrell Hudgins
Manuel Johnson
Holley is real close to replacing Hurd as he is a cheaper version for special teams, would be nice to keep Hudgins on the PS but like I said plenty of tough choices for those spots, if Hurd is released and Holley gets the roster spot then Hudgins might get the PS spot. As far as the front runners no shockers,we know Miles is number 1, I`m putting Dez as number 2, Roy might be getting better but not fast enough to hold off Bryant, Crayton is being tabbed the best wr in camp...but maybe that`s propoganda to increase his trade value, Ogletree? showed too much promise last yr and earns another yr of grooming, I really think the Boys would like him to be the number 4 guy so if he can step up his play maybe they trade Crayton.
RB
Marion Barber *
Felix Jones *
Tashard Choice *
Lonyae Miller
Herb Donaldson
Our 3 headed monster with no changes though I think Choice will get a much deserved bigger workload this yr. Miller is the kind of talent they would welcome on the practice squad but I just could n`t get him there.
FB/TE
Jason Witten *
Martellus Bennett *
Chris Gronkowski *
Deon Anderson *
Scott Sicko PS
Martin Rucker
DajLeon Farr
Jason Pociask
John Phillips IR
The loss of Phillips is huge in my opinion as I find him more reliable than Bennett who needs to get his act together. Witten still a force and Gronkowski will serve as a 3rd TE thus saving the Cricket unless...if any of the TE`s can wrestle away thar 3rd TE from Ski then I see Gronkowski as FB and either Sicko or Rucker earning that 3rd TE job if they can develop their blocking.
OL
Doug Free *
Kyle Kosier *
Andre Gurode *
Leonard Davis *
Marc Colombo *
Alex Barron *
Montrae Holland *
Sam Young *
Phil Costa *
Travis Bright PS
Robert Brewster PS
Pat McQuistan
Mike Tepper
Will Barker
The injury to Kosier really alters the mindset on who makes this team, well first off if he`s out for those first few weeks he can no longer be the back up C and unless the team acquires one the best option is Costa, the team has more faith in Holland than I do to hold the fort until Kosier comes back so putting Bright on the PS makes sense if Holland gets hurt, I`d rather see Bright. Barron is the backup swingman at tackle and the team sees something in Sam Young that he is a lock to make the roster. Brewster needs to get stronger so maybe another yr is needed, very disappointed in Tepper and Barker as I was hoping they would turn out to be diamonds in the rough.
DL
Igor Olshansky *
Jay Ratliff *
Marcus Spears *
Stephen Bowen *
Jason Hatcher *
Josh Brent *
Junior Siavii *
Marcus Dixon
Sean Lissemore PS
Jimmy Saddler-McQueen
I believe Dixon has exhausted his practice squad time, the team has invested time in him, perhaps if the team trades Spears then maybe Dixon makes the roster.Brent has shown too much to risk losing but at the same time he is green so the team would likely keep Siavii for a period of time. Lissemore has been overshadowed by Brent and maybe does n`t even make the practice squad.
LB
DeMarcus Ware *
Bradie James *
Keith Brooking *
Anthony Spencer *
Sean Lee *
Victor Butler *
Brandon Williams *
Jason Williams *
Curtis Johnson
Steve Octavien
Brandon Sharpe PS
Leon Williams
Stephen Hodge
I`ve seen knowledgeable forecasts having the Boys keep 9 lb`s, I only managed to keep 8, the 9th is considered by some to be between Octavien and Leon Williams, myself I think Curtis Johnson would be ahead for the 9th spot.Hodge was brought in to better special teams but that unit has drastically improved and unless he goes back on the IR, his time could be done. Jason Williams remains a project but too early to give up on him.
CB
Mike Jenkins *
Terence Newman *
Orlando Scandrick *
Cletis Gordon *
Bryan McCann *
Jamar Wall PS
Teddy Williams PS
I think McCann has shown enough to stick maybe ahead of Gordon but he`s a raw rookie and the team might be more comfortable with Gordon.
S
Gerald Sensabaugh *
Alan Ball *
Michael Hamlin *
Akwasi Owusu-Ansah *
Danny McCray *
Barry Church PS
Patrick Watkins
tough call between McCray and Church and could go either way, is it crazy to think that maybe both make the team at the expense of Hamlin? seems to me the Hamlin is having a quiet camp. Watkins has maxed out.
K
David Buehler *
LS
L.P. Ladouceur *

Mat McBriar *
we really need to save the roster spot and can`t afford 2 kickers.
80 man roster
I believe the number of players we can bring to camp is 80, that number eventually gets whittled away until we reach 53 and then we are allowed to sign players to a practice squad. What I noticed is that we seem to have 88 players when checking our roster and adding the drafted players so my line of thinking is that 8 players need to be released but which 8? and if we do bring in some free agents well then even more players need to be shipped. So lets speculate which of these players is not coming to camp?

Really bad mock
http://www.realfootball365.com/articles/nfl/14831
Packers get Eric Berry at 23??? much much more funny picks!!! post your best (funny) pick from this mock. Wonder if this is Steven Alexander the ex football player? if so, maybe too many hits to the head. Right now I need 30 more words to qualify as a fan post so just some rambling on here but please check this very very very entertaining mock draft out.
feeling the pressure...my last mock
The pressure is enormous, in 05 I flip flopped Ware and Spears and both were picked by the Cowboys in rd 1,then 06 I nailed the Bobby Carpenter pick and in 07 Anthony Spencer, In 08 yep got th Felix pick right as well...last yr our first player taken was Jason Williams and we picked him exactly in the spot I predicted though my prediction of moving up to select Louis Delmas proved wrong but still on a technicality I have correctly predicted the Cowboys first selection for 5 yrs in a row. So for 2010 can I keep the streak alive? to be honest I am far from confident but if I`m going down, I`m going down swinging...so here goes.
First off these names
Earl Thomas if he`s there at 21 we`re moving up for him....he won`t be so discard that notion.
Dez Bryant if he`s there at 25 we`re moving up for him...I hope we don`t...it would cost us pick 59 and 27 and unless Gaither comes with it, it is n` t worth it.
Mike Iupati if he`s there at 27 he`s the pick, it`s a no brainer and the streak would be alive however will he be there at 27? So many teams have been linked to selecting him and finally the pressure got to me and I have come to the conclusion he will be gone by 27.
Chris Cook he`s listed as a CB but the Boy`s like him as a FS, initially they probably had him on speed dial for pick 59 but that now seems unlikely, do they like him enough for pick 27?maybe but Jerry loves to trade and Cleveland could be wanting to move up for Colt McCoy so Jerry pulls the trigger.
Trade pick 27 to Cleveland for picks
38 / 92 / 134
and trade
Marcus Spears to KC for pick 144
and the draft goes down like this
38 Chris Cook CB Virginia again the play making FS we desperately need.
59 Navorro Bowman OLB Penn State he`ll be moved to ILB and learn behind Brooking for 1 yr.
90 John Jerry OT Mississippi we need some beef in this draft and by golly we`re gonna get a ton of it.
92 Kevin Thomas CB Southern California 4 teams like him Jerry always over pays
125 Ramon Harewood OT Morehouse where`s the beef?
134 Emmanuel Sanders WR Southern Methodist another wideout to develop.
144 Tony Washington OT Abilene Christian where`s the beef?
196 Chris McCoy OLB Middle Tennessee we went to the school workout for a reason.
234 DeMarcus Granger DT Oklahoma with Spears gone expect bigger roles for Bowen and Hatcher, strictly a depth pick.
actually I can try to keep my streak alive by going
27 Iupati
59 Cook
and that way if Iupati is gone and we do select Cook OR Iupati lasts until 27 and is the pick I actually have 2 shots at extending the streak.
GM Mock complete- Saint`s picks
Pick 32 New Orleans Saints select
Carlos Dunlap DE Florida
We felt we needed to add depth on the D-line especially after the release of Charles Grant, Carlos Dunlap is a player we feel could have been a top 10 pick under different circumstances and feel he has tremendous upside we view him in the Mold of a Mario Williams / Julius Peppers type player. We are full aware of the character concerns that caused him to drop and feel the risk reward is great enough to make this selection.
Tyson Alualu DT California
Again we capitalize on drafting a player we feel will help upgrade our D-Line, paired with Sedrick Ellis we feel will improve our interior run defense. Hard worker and no nonsense type player we feel brings an attitude to this defense. We had him as a borderline 1rst rd pick and in fact was almost the pick at 32 so we`re thrilled to get him at 64 overall.
Pick 95 New Orleans Saints select
Jason Worilds OLB/DE Virginia Tech
Not sure where we`re gonna line him up but one things for sure he`ll be bring the heat with him on a collision course with the QB, being the defending SuperBowl Champions provides the luxury of drafting in rd 3 a player for 3rd and long.
pick 127 New Orleans Saints select Eric Olsen C Notre Dame
after 3 picks for the Defense we decided to give the Offense a little attention, nothing fancy with this pick just a tough SOB who is n`t afraid to get dirty to shore up the interior of the O-line.
pick 191 New Orleans Saints select
Joique Bell RB Wayne State
Will fit right in our rb by commitee appproach, can get the tough yards and has a nose for the endzone . On another positive we already have a jersey for him so we save big time on alterations
pick 224 New Orleans Saints select
Chris Hawkins CB LSU
Cornerback with good measureables and a local product which appeased the Saint`s fan`s. Good upside.

Mocking the Draft after 4 rds- Saints rep
Pick 32 New Orleans Saints select
Carlos Dunlap DE Florida
We felt we needed to add depth on the D-line especially after the release of Charles Grant, Carlos Dunlap is a player we feel could have been a top 10 pick under different circumstances and feel he has tremendous upside we view him in the Mold of a Mario Williams / Julius Peppers type player. We are full aware of the character concerns that caused him to drop and feel the risk reward is great enough to make this selection.
Pick64
Tyson Alualu DT California
Again we capitalize on drafting a player we feel will help upgrade our D-Line, paired with Sedrick Ellis we feel will improve our interior run defense. Hard worker and no nonsense type player we feel brings an attitude to this defense. We had him as a borderline 1rst rd pick and in fact was almost the pick at 32 so we`re thrilled to get him at 64 overall.
Pick 95
Jason Worilds OLB/DE Virginia Tech
Not sure where we`re gonna line him up but one things for sure he`ll be bring the heat with him on a collision course with the QB, being the defending SuperBowl Champions provides the luxury of drafting in rd 3 a player for 3rd and long.
pick 127
Eric Olsen C Notre Dame
after 3 picks for the Defense we decided to give the Offense a little attention, nothing fancy with this pick just a tough SOB who is n`t afraid to get dirty to shore up the interior of the O-line.
Cowboy`s might have McCoy on their radar
yep that`s right the Cowboys might have DE Chris McCoy on their radar screens as the Cowboys were one of 22 NFL teams to attend the Middle Tennessee Pro day.
And here`s a bold new exclusive prediction...are you ready? this is big...The Cowboys will draft in rd 6 a prospect from Middle Tennessee. Now the title suggests it might be McCoy but maybe they attended the Pro day for another prospect so here are the suspects.
DE Chris McCoy 6-4
Weight: 245 pounds sounds like the perfect size for an OLB in our scheme, 7 sacks 20 tackles for loss indicates he`s a play maker and his pro day showed he`s a pretty good athlete so he should be able to contribute on special teams, he would be a project and buried on the depth chart for the time being and maybe a practice squad member.
LB Danny Carmichael Now he put on a show at the Pro day and to me with the invites of Lee and Bowman that we could be targeting ILB in rd 3 ( I don`t think they project to OLB for our D) Carmichael could be a plan B. in 09 Was second on the team with 94 tackles while setting career-highs in tackles for loss (12.5), sacks (6.5), and forced fumbles (6)
CB Alex Suber only 5 ft 9 but a 39 inch vertical jump so he`s a little guy but can get up, also he`s a shutdown corner.
Any of these guys could be of interest but which one (s).
Mocking the Draft - Saint`s Rep seeks input
Cowboy`s fan here and I`m acting as the Rep for the Saints team for the 7 rd mock on the Mocking the Draft site.
http://www.mockingthedraft.com/2010/3/13/1371725/2-7-round-results-next-one-will-be
Here is the first 2 picks for the Saints, would appreciate any feedback and suggestions going forward. At this point of the draft there are still plenty of TE`s still on the board that are tempting me for the rd 3 pick though I know LB is also a high priority.
32) New Orleans Saints - Carlos Dunlap (DE, Flordia) - We felt we needed to add depth on the D-line especially after the release of Charles Grant, Carlos Dunlap is a player we feel could have been a top 10 pick under different circumstances and feel he has tremendous upside we view him in the Mold of a Mario Williams / Julius Peppers type player. We are full aware of the character concerns that caused him to drop and feel the risk reward is great enough to make this selection.
64. New Orleans Saints - Tyson Alualu (DT, Cal) - Again we capitalize on drafting a player we feel will help upgrade our D-Line, paired with Sedrick Ellis we feel will improve our interior run defense. Hard worker and no nonsense type player we feel brings an attitude to this defense. We had him as a borderline 1rst rd pick and in fact was almost the pick at 32 so we`re thrilled to get him at 64 overall.
my mock version2
http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/prospectrankings/TSX/2010?tag=pageContainer;playerRatings&start_row=1
here is the link for the rankings that I am using, you will notice that I did select players at the overall number that were ranked higher but I had to go with the crystal ball. By the way, I hate to toot my own horn but I`m on a tremendous roll when trying to predict how the draft will go and here are some examples...In 2005 The Boys had 2 1rst rd picks but on trying to decide whom I thought the Boy`s were gonna take with their first pick I kept flopping between DeMarcus Ware and Marcus Spears, well turns out both of them ended up being 1rst rd picks that yr!!!what a fluke! or so I thought. 2006 I like the Bobby Carpenter Bill Parcells connection and predicted Barbie to be the pick...unfortunately I was right,2007 Wade Phillips is in charge and he wants a OLB in the mold of the one he had for the Chargers in Shaun Phillips from Purdue and the fit was so perfect it was like shooting fish in a barrel...my pick Anthony Spencer from...you guessed it, Purdue.2008 again we had 2 1rst rd picks and the Boys were getting ready to move to a new stadium soon and I knew Jerry was gonna select an electrifying player and I guessed correctly with the 1rst pick in Felix Jones, I was off the mark with my next selection, DeSean Jackson whom I thought would turn out to be a pretty explosive player for the Boys but Jenkins was a steal so not the end of the world. Now for 2009 I had Jason Williams penciled in for our pick in rd 3 little did I know that Jerry was gonna trade down and that my streak was gonna be kept alive on a technacality as he was the first player drafted by the Cowboys and I at least got that part correct though I did have us drafting another player at 51 but that pick never happened. Also of note for last yr is I also got the Stephen McGee pick and John Phillips picks dead on at the spot they were drafted. So without further adieu this is what my crystal ball is telling me for the 2010 draft! will the streak continue?
rd 1 (27 overall) Mike Iupati OG Idaho ranked 17
ok he`s ranked 17th but rarely do Guards go in rd 1 and if they do they are finished products with no holes in their game, this is not an accurate description of Iupati, throw in the fact that this yr`s draft is loaded with potential LT`s to go in rd 1 which we all know is a far greater need in the NFL. So he falls because he has lots of competition from prospects on the O-line, comes from a small school, has not faced elite competition, still has work to do and is a project. The Boy`s take him because he`s massive and we want him at LG,we want his toughness, we love his long arms, height and weight and maybe down the road maybe he can be a LT but until then he`s gonna be a monster at the LG position.Pouncey could be the pick if Iupati is gone but I`m banking the streak on Iupati.
rd 2 (59 overall) Chris Cook FS Virginia ranked 70
you can take this one to the bank now as Brass wants this guy and I hope they`re right because there`s gonna be some higher rated safeties on the board at this pick so hopefully the Boy`s prove to be correct here.
rd 3 (90 overall) Javier Arenas CB Alabama ranked 94
I could be wrong on this one however I`m pretty sure whomever we pick at this spot will be returning punts...could be a wr?
Jacoby Ford WR Clemson would be great but could be gone.
rd 4 (127 overall) Roddrick Muckelroy ILB Texas ranked 246
according to the rankings he would be a huge reach, not the first time the Boy`s reached for a guy they want.
rd 6 (200 overall) Rashawn Jackson FB Virginia ranked 172
The John Garrett connection helped m with the John Phillips pick last yr and helps me twice this yr with Cook and a pretty goood blocking FB to replace Cricket.
rd 7 (238 overall) Crezdon Butler CB Clemson ranked 288
they rolled the dice on Mickens last yr and it did n`t work out, Jerry`s not gun shy and he grabs another big corner. Some team chemistry with Micheal Hamlin also from Clemson does n`t hurt.

10-11 new Cowboys
means 10-11 Cowboys gone from last yr`s 53 man squad so here we go...
Anderson, Deon FB bit player F`ed up big time.
Hurd, Sam WR not a bad guy but can be replaced
Bowen, Stephen DE for a draft pick could be Hatcher, Miami would like Hatcher, KC... Bowen
Octavien, Steve LB over performed last yr but can he hold off the tigers
Gordon, Cletis CB who ever he is will have to fight hard.
Holland, Montrae G we need to over haul the O-line depth.
Procter, Cory C a guy can hope...right?
McQuistan, Pat OT Boy`s have invested 4 yrs... at some point the plug needs to be pulled
Preston, Duke C ask the Bills if they want him.
Watkins, Patrick S special teams play might save his rear but it`s a numbers game.
Suisham, Shaun K pretty sure he`s already history.
that`s 11 !!!!!! are you shocked by any of the names???how will we go on !!!!
OK calm down...this is how
Anderson, Deon FB he can go to the circus and eat crickets or flash a gun at the people who visit. The Cowboys get a lot of blocking from TE`s lining up in the backfield so it won`t be hard to land one in the draft or after. Rashawn Jackson FB Virginia would be an upgrade and might be available in rd 5 and if they elect to go TE in UDFA Brody Eldridge TE Oklahoma has played C/G/FB/TE so somehow I think he might be able to block.
Hurd, Sam WR now we could tender him for 1.7 million dollars...or we could probably insert Practice Squad Johnson, Manuel and get the same...mmmmm production.
Bowen, Stephen DE I like Bowen but we have 3 DE`s scheduled to be UFA`s next yr and were gonna lose 1 of them for sure so why not get something in return. With teams flocking to the 3-4 defense I could see a team like the Bills giving us a 4th rder. his replacement could be Dixon, Marcus from the Practice Squad or maybe a 4th rd draft pick like Mike Neal DT Purdue
Octavien, Steve LB Will have to claw his way to remain a Cowboy he might lose his spot to Williams, Brandon last yr on IR.
Gordon, Cletis CB Yep apparently he was on the 53 man roster last yr but my gut tells me the Boys in rd 2 are gonna take Chris Cook CB Virginia and in the later rds maybe a big cb to develop.
Holland, Montrae G / Procter, Cory C / McQuistan, Pat OT / Preston, Duke C Heck I like these 4 so much let`s stick them together though Proctor is a drummer and that maybe keeps him on the roster. So how do we replace these....ummmmm fine specimens oooozing with talent? well first off we have a pick at number 27 overall and there are 9 guys from the draft that could boost the O-line so more than likely at least one of those 9 guys will make it to the Cowboy`s pick of those 9 I like Pouncey, it grooms us a C in the future and he can play guard and give Kosier a breather and maybe a long breather at that. But for the Cowboy`s the guy they want is Mike Iupati OG Idaho and if you want reasons why he`ll be there they are.
1) not a finished product.
2) has not faced elite competition.
3) wonderlic score 13 so maybe he does `nt wow anyone in the interview process.
4)Guards rarely go rd 1
5)LT is the most coveted position for the OL and this yrs class is loaded.
Robert Brewster hopefully can make the transition from IR and
Bright, Travis from the practice squad surely he has shown enough to stand on the sidelines and do nothing just like Preston and probably much cheaper.
Watkins, Patrick S Played a great game against the Vikings...no not the playoff debacle but during the exhibition season, and it probalby saved his job...for last season, this season it`s another story so stay tuned. How to replace him? well 2nd rd pick Cook will be converted to FS so that`s a strong possibility.
Suisham, Shaun K see Conor Hughes already on board
so for those keeping score here`s our draft, the extra 4th comes from the Bowen trade.
rd 1Mike Iupati OG Idaho
rd 2 Chris Cook CB Virginia
rd 3 Roddrick Muckelroy ILB Texas
rd 4 Mike Neal DT Purdue
rd 4 Rashawn Jackson FB Virginia
rd 6Walter Thurmond CB Oregon
rd 7 Thomas Welch OT Vanderbilt
the 11 new faces and the departed
Conor Hughes K - Suisham, Shaun
Mike Iupati OG - Holland, Montrae
Chris Cook CB - Watkins, Patrick
Roddrick Muckelroy ILB - Procter, Cory
Mike Neal DT - Bowen, Stephen
Walter Thurmond CB - Gordon, Cletis
Robert Brewster - McQuistan, Pat
Travis Bright - Preston, Duke
Rashawn Jackson FB - Anderson, Deon
Brandon Williams OLB - Octavien, Steve
Manual Johnson WR - Hurd, Sam
In most cases you can see the new Cowboy listed with the player he`s replacing with the exception of Muck over Smuck...Muckelroy over Proctor in case your wondering or maybe even still reading. I selected Iupati in rd 1 because The Boy`s are enamored with him but Pouncey on board would give us the backup C so under this scenario with Iupati the pick we need either Brewster or Bright to be the backup C at the same level or higher than Proctor....I kill myself. BTW 7th rd pick Welch would be Practice Squad material and becomes the new RT project in place of MacQ. These 3 could be battling it out for 1 remaining spot. Dixon, Marcus DE, Hodge, Stephen LB, Johnson, Curtis LB

Our Cowboys Interactive mock rd 7
First off let me thank everyone who participated it was great fun and I enjoyed the participation. After 6 rds our draft looks like this.
rd 1 27 Charles Brown OT Southern California
rd 2 59 Morgan Burnett FS Georgia Tech
rd 3 90 Mardy Gilyard WR Cincinnati
rd 4 127 John Jerry OG Mississippi
rd 6 200 Myron Rolle SS Florida State
This takes us to our 7th rd pick which is 238th overall, for this final poll only players ranked at 238 or lower will be used. So far with this draft we have added depth to the O-line but not at the C position so I added 3 here, we still have n`t pick a big corner so a couple are listed though we did add 2 safeties to the secondary, Still have n`t drafted a back up for Rat though we do have Junior already there, a couple of rb`s are on the list if anyone thinks Barber is no longer a Barbarian, a blocking FB in case Cricket is canned, a kicker in case we need one, a young QB that could cause concern for McGee, etc etc etc. Again thanks to all and here is our 7th rd choices.
rd 7 238
Patrick Stoudamire CB Western Illinois 5-10 207
Mike Kafka QB Northwestern 6-3 216

rd 4 127
Here are the players available for us in rd 4. A couple of big corners, threw in Selvie who could add depth at OLB, a couple of NT`s that can help Ratliff and 2 players who could help at DE, some beef for the O-line all guys on this list can play guard although some could also play RT, oh and a RB with attitude.

rd 3 90
These are the players we will choose from for our rd 3 pick, some corners with size, some good punt returners, a massive nt that could give the Boys the luxury of moving Rat to DE, a couple of NT`s in the Ratliff mold to provide depth, a DE to offset the possible depletion to free agency if not this yr then next, some ILB that the Boy`s might want to groom behind Brookling and some mean Guards to bolster the O-line.
Our Cowboy`s Interactive mock - rd 2
rd 1 27 Charles Brown OT Southern California
Analysis
Pass blocking: Lanky build with plenty of room for additional growth. Long arms and shows good quickness off the snap. Shuffles back in pass protection with bent knees, ready to slide inside or out to mirror the defender. Significantly improved his upper-body strength as a senior, using a more effective punch to stun the pass rusher. Gives good effort, and showed improved upper-body strength to sustain blocks.
Run blocking: While he flashes nastiness with an explosive initial shove, he remains largely a finesse blocker who relies on positioning and athleticism.
Pulling/trapping: Shows good quickness off the snap for combo blocks. Gets his hands into defenders and is agile enough to release and get to the second level.
Initial Quickness: Good initial quickness and depth in his kick slide in pass protection and when attacking the defender in the running game.
Downfield: Good quickness downfield as a run blocker. Can get to the second level and adjusts nicely to the moving target.
Intangibles: Former tight end who impressed in his first season as the starting left tackle in 2008 and showed greatly improved upper body strength and aggression in his second starting season. Might be just scratching the surface of his potential.

rd 2 59
rd 3 90
rd 4 127
rd 6 200
rd 7 238
For our 2nd rd pick these players will be included to the poll, the safety position is well represented for those thinking we can groom a player behind Ken Hamlin, a couple of intriguing Guards are available to those wanting to continue the alteration of the O-line, some corners who can return punts which can come in handy, a possible cricket replacement etc.
Our Dallas Cowboys Interactive mock
Here`s our picks
rd 1 27
rd 2 59
rd 3 90
rd 4 127
rd 6 200
rd 7 238
please note that after rd 3 picks are approximate as I estimated the inclusion of compensatory picks to reflect the overall draft position. Please keep in mind this process is for FUN only and I realize that there will be flaws in the way it is outlined. For each pick we will have a poll and only players ranked lower than our overall pick slot will be included. The rankings I will be using are from
http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/prospectrankings/TSX/2010
When selecting players from the rankings for the Poll I`ll try to keep our team needs in mind though players that might fall into the category as hard to pass on will be included.
Good luck to both teams
Dallas Cowboy fan here just wants to wish both teams good luck this week. Both teams have a long history of dismal failures and amazingly after today`s game one of these teams will be going to the Super Bowl, of course if that team is the Vikings we know how they fare in the big game but that was a long time ago and things have changed. For one Brett Favre the all world QB from The Green Bay Packers is now leading the charge for the Vikings, I have to commend Viking fan`s for their loyalty as my stomach would turn if ever my Cowboys would stoop so low to acquire a QB from an NFC East rival such as McNabb...yuck though I suppose after seeing Brett totally own the Vikings for so many years the philosophy if you can`t beat em join em rings true. At any rate good luck to both teams today and it would be nice to see the Vikings or Saints win a SuperBowl at least one time in their history especially since some teams have won like 5 of them.
My mock
Before I attempt to predict a mock for the Dallas Cowboys I would like to examine the 53 man roster that we sent into battle in an attempt to win the SuperBowl. By examining the 53 man roster I will attempt to identify areas that should or could be upgraded, I will consider how I feel Jerry and Wade evaluate the players as well as they hold the trump card on these matters. I will look into the PUP list, the IR, and the Practice Squad for possible replacements on the 53 man squad.
Here is our 2009 Dallas Cowboys 53 man roster.
At QB
9 Romo, Tony QB 6-2 226 7 Eastern Illinois
3 Kitna, Jon QB 6-2 218 13 Central Washington
7 McGee, Stephen QB 6-3 218 R Texas A&M
Romo is the Man, Kitna was n`t put under a micoscope this season so he`ll be back and McGee is still in the egg stage and is not ready to fly yet. There`s no one else at this position within the organization and my best guess is they will acquire a camp arm through Undrafted free agent acquisition who will do good to make the practice squad.
24 Barber, Marion RB 6-0 222 5 Minnesota
28 Jones, Felix RB 6-0 218 2 Arkansas
23 Choice, Tashard RB 5-10 212 2 Georgia Tech
34 Anderson, Deon FB 5-10 246 3 Connecticut
Some fellow Cowboy`s fans like to speculate what if we trade Barber what if we trade Choice, do we need Cricket when Phillips (TE John, not Wade)appears to be the better blocker ? and my belief is Jerry and Wade send this group to battle again in 2010. Now Jerry has already hinted at the possibility of addressing Punt Returner in the draft but would n`t reach consider how effecient Crayton has become so maybe a PR/ RB could be selected late in the draft. Something to consider is all 3 of our RB`s have shown to be considered injury risks and currently we only have Herb Donaldson stashed away in the cupboards.
19 Austin, Miles WR 6-3 214 4 Monmouth
11 Williams, Roy WR 6-3 215 6 Texas
84 Crayton, Patrick WR 6-0 204 6 NW Okla State
85 Ogletree, Kevin WR 6-0 192 R Virginia
17 Hurd, Sam WR 6-2 208 4 Northern Illinois
Recently Jerry made the comment that he would sleep like a baby going into 2010 with the group of wr`s currently on the squad and that wr was not a priority in the 2010 draft. Could be a smokescreen but Jerry`s been a broken record with this and has so far kept his stance and proved it in the draft. That being said there will be some real bargains in rd 4 in my opinion, also we could again be looking for a PR/WR.
My opinion is that Hurd`s spot could be in jeopardy, I think his production could easily be replaced at a cheaper rate (he earned more than Vincent Jackson last yr) options to replace Hurd on the 53 could very well be on our practice squad Holley, Jesse as well as Johnson, Manuel. Another name that enters into the mix is Titus Ryan who was recently signed to a futures contract but faces long odds on making the 53.
82 Witten, Jason TE 6-5 263 7 Tennessee
80 Bennett, Martellus TE 6-6 266 2 Texas A&M
89 Phillips, John TE 6-5 255 R Virginia
What the Boys lack in quantity they make up for it in Quality. Jerry has recently praised Bennett`s abilities so he figures into the Boy`s plans for 2010 so don`t expect a draft day trade. I would expect to see a TE added but it could be during the UDFA stage and would end up being a player assigned to the practice squad.
76 Adams, Flozell OT 6-7 338 12 Michigan State
75 Colombo, Marc OT 6-8 318 8 Boston College
68 Free, Doug OT 6-6 313 3 Northern Illinois
77 McQuistan, Pat OT 6-6 317 4 Weber State
70 Davis, Leonard G 6-6 353 9 Texas
63 Kosier, Kyle G 6-5 307 8 Arizona State
64 Holland, Montrae G 6-2 326 7 Florida State
65 Gurode, Andre C 6-4 318 8 Colorado
69 Preston, Duke C 6-5 311 5 Illinois
71 Procter, Cory C 6-4 311 5 Montana
I`ll breakdown the whole O-Line as a group, Jerry has stated that adding depth to the O-line will be a priority. When I look at the names of these guys that were on the 53 man squad, the guys that stand out in terms of replaceable are Proctor, Preston, Holland, McQuistan. These 4 contributed nothing and will not be missed. When scanning the other players within the organization we see that we have 2 other O-Linemen Brewster, Robert and Bright, Travis, the Boy`s invested a significant draft pick in Brewster and would like him to make the 53 man squad possibly at LG and best case scenario to even upgrade over starter Kosier, Kosier`s roster spot is secure but his value going forward might be in a reserve role. Dropping 4 from the 53 and possibly only adding Brewster reinforces Jerry`s statement of looking to add depth to the O-line.
96 Spears, Marcus DE 6-4 309 5 LSU
99 Olshansky, Igor DE 6-6 315 6 Oregon
97 Hatcher, Jason DE 6-6 305 4 Grambling
72 Bowen, Stephen DE 6-5 306 4 Hofstra
90 Ratliff, Jay DT 6-4 303 5 Auburn
78 Siavii, Junior DT 6-5 318 4 Oregon
I`ll breakdown the 3 man front as a group, what sticks out the most is that 3 of our 4 DE`s will all be UFA`s after the 2010 season and I think there`s a strong possibility the Boy`s might want to get something for them now then receive nothing for them later so possibly one of them could be traded for a draft pick just something to keep in mind come draft day. Notice that are front line is consisted of players similar in size, in my opinion this rules out the massive NT candidates as the Boy`s have passed on numerous occcassions to really beef up the line. Currently on the practice squad the Boy`s have Dixon, Marcus whom Jerry recently singled out as being part of the plans for next yr, even so I expect the Boy`s to add depth to the D-Line in this draft but I`m really expecting a player in the 6' 4" 310lb range that might be viewed as a NT/DE reserve role. I think Spears will be retained.
94 Ware, DeMarcus LB 6-4 262 5 Troy
93 Spencer, Anthony LB 6-3 256 3 Purdue
56 James, Bradie LB 6-2 247 7 Louisiana State
51 Brooking, Keith LB 6-2 242 12 Georgia Tech
58 Williams, Jason LB 6-1 246 R Western Illinois
57 Butler, Victor LB 6-2 246 R Oregon State
54 Carpenter, Bobby LB 6-2 249 4 Ohio State
53 Octavien, Steve LB 6-0 246 1 Nebraska
98 Johnson, Curtis LB 6-3 237 2 Clark Atlanta University
We`re stacked at LB also in addition to the above we have very strong candidates for next yr`s 53 man squad on the practice squad and from IR, Hodge, Stephen ,Williams, Brandon, Williams, Leon,Woods, Donovan. In my opinion we have very little need of drafting a LB in the draft however Jerry indicated that despite the abundance of talent currently on the roster that a workhorse LB could be selected so not sure if they have someone in mind or Jerry puffing smoke.
41 Newman, Terence CB 5-11 191 7 Kansas State
21 Jenkins, Mike CB 5-10 198 2 South Florida
32 Scandrick, Orlando CB 5-10 193 2 Boise State
20 Ball, Alan CB 6-1 188 2 Illinois
27 Gordon, Cletis CB 6-1 205 4 Jackson State
43 Sensabaugh, Gerald S 6-0 210 6 North Carolina
26 Hamlin, Ken S 6-2 209 7 Arkansas
36 Hamlin, Michael S 6-2 213 R Clemson
25 Watkins, Patrick S 6-5 218 4 Florida State
OK raise your hands if you knew we had a Cletis Gordon on our squad. Patrick Watkin`s 2009 claim to fame was the great game he played against the Vikings...no not that one the pre season tilt. on the practice squad we offer up Floyd, Marquis...does that stir up your blood?
18 Buehler, David K 6-2 228 R Southern California
1 McBriar, Mat P 6-1 222 6 Hawaii
91 Ladouceur, L.P. LS 6-4 256 5 California
4 Suisham, Shaun K 6-0 197 4 Bowling Green
The first 3 are safe in fact Buehler will get plenty of work on fg`s to try to free up a roster spot. Maybe Suisham gets a camp invite but I doubt it, maybe Folk gets an invite which I would prefer and maybe we draft or add a kid via UDFA but hopefully the Boy`s will desperately attempt to improve the FG kicking game in 2010.

WRs Jesse Holley and Manny Johnson, along with DE Marcus Dixon have been signed to futures contracts for next yr.
WR Titus Ryan was recently signed to a futures contract.
Joel Bell, OT, Furman
Jonathan Evans, RB/FB, Baylor
Chad Jackson, WR, Florida
Marcus Maxwell, WR, Oregon
David Pittman, CB, Northwestern State (La.)
DeAngelis Sandro, K, Nebraska
Kelvin Smith, LB, Syracuse
Keron Williams, DT, Massachusetts
all recently participated in player workouts for the squad but were not yet awarded futures contract to my knowledge.
In a nutshell these players in my opinion could be replaced from the 53 man roster in no particular order.
Hurd, Sam
McQuistan, Pat
Holland, Montrae
Preston, Duke
Procter, Cory
Octavien, Steve
Johnson, Curtis
Gordon, Cletis
Watkins, Patrick
Suisham, Shaun
players that are strong possibilities to replace them on the 53 currently in the organization.
Hodge, Stephen
Williams, Brandon
Brewster, Robert
Dixon, Marcus
Math time shows minus 10 and plus 4 leaving a difference of 6 players needed to be added to the 53 man squad, how many draft picks do we have? 6 now remember the possibility of the Boy`s trading either Bowen or Hatcher for a draft pick but for simplicity sake I won`t include that scenario in my mock draft. Also note that I will not select any players that are slotted to go before our projected draft selection.
rd 1 pick 27
Maurkice Pouncey
Height: 6-5 | Weight: 318 | Position:OL
ranked 38
In last yr`s draft the Boy`s wanted to select Max Unger at 51 but were thwarted when the Seahawks traded up to 49 to select him. As plan B they selected Brewster who spent the entire yr on the PUP list so the million dollar question is will Brewster come back fully healthy and be able to upgrade Kosier? I say the Cowboys are gonna hedge their bets on this one especially since I have identified 4 players from the O-line that are easily expendable.Throw in Pouncey`s ability as a C and this pick is a no brainer. This selection can fill the void on the 53 man roster from the removal of Proctor and Preston...the Pee Boys and we`ll assign Brewster`s spot to the departure of Holland from the 53.
rd 2 pick 59
Nate Allen
Height: 6-1 | Weight: 206 | Position:FS
ranked 60
Can replace Watkins on the 53 man roster and be a serious challenge to Ken Hamlin`s starter role though it might take a yr of grooming.
rd 3 pick 91
Jared Veldheer
Height: 6-8 | Weight: 321 / Position OT
ranked 145
Will replace McQ roster spot but is a project, the Boy`s will march Flo out there for 1 more yr pretty comfortable that Free can fill in if needed, Colombo should be back to form next yr as well but my thinking is somewhere down the road maybe 3 yrs down the road were looking at our bookends in Free and Veldheer.
rd 4 pick 126
Mike Neal
Height: 6-4 | Weight: 293 | Position:DT
ranked 136
Siavii might be better suited for end and Neal will get a strong look as Ratliff`s backup as his style is very similar. My line of thinking is the Boy`s will want to get both Neal and practice squad graduate Dixon plenty of opportunity to showcase their talents to give them a better feel on if they need to open the vaults for Spears/Bowen or Hatcher.
rd 6 pick 206
Trindon Holliday
Height: 5-5 | Weight: 164 | Position:WR/RB/ KR/PR
ranked 352
Fills the need of a return man on both kick-offs and punts, takes Hurd`s spot on the roster at a cheaper price and can fill in at wr or rb in emergency situations though hopefully will not have to.
rd 7 pick 240
Hunter Lawrence
Height: 6-0 | Weight: 185 | Position:K
ranked 337
gets his hat thrown in the ring to be the next Cowboy`s kicker, he`ll need to beat out the kick off specialist Buehler whom the Boy`s would want to win the job and probably a veteran kicker looking for work (Folk?)
