I was born and raised in Portland and have spent all but 6 years here. I was in the Navy from 1989-1995 and spent most of that time in Japan. I also got to see Hong Kong, Phillippines,Korea, singapore, thailand. While in Japan I went to some Japanese baseball games and they really get into thier baseball over there. I was born in 1966 so I was about 9 yrs old when Portland won the NBA Title in 1977, can't wait till we do it again. I root for underdogs when my team is not in it and I hate it when people are from a place but because their team is not a champion they root for a frontrunner. Rooting for the local teams around here is in my blood and I got my love of sports from my father.

The long and winding road
I took a few positives out of last nights game. One, it was only game one. Two, we have a future star in Rudy Fernandez. Three, the poise shown by Brandon Roy, in arguably his worst game as a pro the guy stayed with it and never lost his confidence. The team made a few runs and cut a 20 point early lead down to 8. The best team in the west exposed the piples of the youngest team. Now we just need to put on some Pro-active and stay the course. I want to see Rudy more and I would even put him in the starting lineup.
letdown of epic proportions
I was so excited to see that comcast sport net was available on my dish network so I added a sports package that would give me access. Only to find out that the NW region is not available. What a let down and the season is about to start. I just cannot believe that this has dragged on so long and such a large number of fans are out in the cold. The greedy behemoth that is comcast will never be in my household again.
